Back To Court: Sherri Shepherd Is Still Fighting Maternity Ruling In $4600 A Month Child Support Case

Sherri Shepherd Appeals Maternity Ruling For Surrogate Baby Even though she’s currently coughing up $4,600 a month for her surrogate child with ex-husband Lamar Sally, Sherri Shepherd still insists that she shares no kinship with the baby . The comedienne is currently appealing the decision made by Pennsylvania Superior Court, deeming her the legal mother of the son she and Lamar had by surrogate mother and donated egg — and ordering her to pay up nearly $5k for the child’s well being. Via E!online : Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally’s surrogacy legal battle continues. A judge ruled in April that she is the legal mother of her and Lamar’s baby, Lamar Sally Jr., who was born via surrogate and was already on the way when she and Lamar split up. But now the former The View host is asking the Pennsylvania Supreme court to reverse the decision made by the Superior Court. Shepherd is arguing that the lower court didn’t have a right to declare her the mother, as Pennsylvania law requires parentage to be established by “genetics/biology or by adoption,” according to legal documents obtained by E! News. If you’ll recall, the egg used to create little Lamar Jr. didn’t come from Sherri, and a surrogate carried the baby to term. By that logic, Sherri feels that she was ruled as the child’d mother unfairly. But she says in the meantime, she’s focusing on the child she does claim… Shepherd previously opened up to People about her surrogacy legal battle and the lower court’s decision. “I am appealing the ruling that happened and he gets his settlement every month,” she said of her ex-husband. “He’s happy. There nothing I can do. It’s out of my hands. You move on and I have a son. I have to take care of him so everything is good.” Well the courts have already spoken their piece once…do you think Sherri should keep cutting checks, or is she right to try to have the ruling overturned?

Poor Thang: Sherri Shepherd’s Life Is In Shambles After Messy Divorce, Two Custody Battles & Getting Fired From ‘The View’

Sherri ’s life is in shambles! Sherri Shepherd Headed For A Mental Breakdown After Divorce And Custody Battles Departing “View” star Sherri Shepherd is under such tremendous stress that friends fear she’s headed for a devastating collapse. The TV star’s life has unraveled on all fronts – from a messy divorce and two custody battles to getting axed from her show and giving up her dream home. Via National Enquirer reports: “Sherri is on the verge of a breakdown,” a worried friend told The ENQUIRER . “What’s happening to her is too much for any one person to bear. She has serious health issues and we’re afraid she’s going to collapse under the strain.” The 47-year-old performer was diagnosed in 2007 with Type 2 diabetes, the same disease that claimed her mother LaVerne’s life when she was only 41. A frightened Sherri dropped 40 pounds to cope with the condition. But in the past three months, she’s been hammered by a series of neverending crises. In May, her husband of nearly three years, writer Lamar Sally, filed for separation in California, and just two weeks later, Sherri fired back with her own divorce petition, filed in New Jersey, where the couple made their home. Making the split even more painful, the warring couple are expecting the birth of a son from a surrogate mother in late July, and Sherri plans to battle in order NOT to be named the child’s mother – because she now believes she is not the biological mother! Meanwhile, the embattled entertainer faces another heartbreaking custody challenge – her ex-husband, Jeff Tarpley, is seeking full custody of the couple’s 9-year-old son, Jeffrey, from their eight-year marriage. As her world collapsed around her, Sherri was told her contract as a co-host on “The View” wouldn’t be renewed when it expires in August after seven years. “Sherri’s life is in shambles – we pray she’ll make it through,” said the source. We hope Sherri can recover from all these hurdles and get her life back in order!

Eddie Murphy To Host 2012 Oscars

Academy Awards executive producer Brett Ratner directed Murphy in the upcoming ‘Tower Heist.’ By Kara Warner Eddie Murphy Photo: Getty Images After trying out a pair of young Hollywood stars for last year’s Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has settled on a seasoned vet to helm the 84th annual Academy Awards: Eddie Murphy. “I am enormously honored to join the great list of past Academy Award hosts from Hope and Carson to Crystal, Martin and Goldberg, among others,” Murphy said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to working with [producers] Brett [Ratner] and Don [Mischer] on creating a show that is enjoyable for both the fans at home and for the audience at the Kodak Theatre as we all come together to celebrate and recognize the great film contributions and collaborations from the past year.” Ratner is equally excited to re-team with Murphy, whom he directed in the upcoming “Tower Heist.” “Eddie is a comedic genius, one of the greatest and most influential live performers ever,” Ratner said. “With his love of movies, history of crafting unforgettable characters and his iconic performances — especially on stage — I know he will bring excitement, spontaneity and tremendous heart to the show Don and I want to produce in February.” In other Oscar-related news, rumor has it that veteran host Billy Crystal will also be incorporated into the show. We still haven’t heard much from new Oscars producer Ratner , however, other than his initial statement that the gig is “a dream come true.” “This wasn’t even in my dreams, it’s so far out,” he said last month. “This is something I never could have imagined.” The filmmaker, who directed Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in the “Rush Hour” comedy trilogy as well as 2006’s comic book adaptation “X-Men: The Last Stand,” isn’t wasting any time in getting started on his plans for the show, which will air live from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on February 26, 2012. “Work begins now,” he said.
