American Idol Results: A Shocking Bottom Three …

American Idol treated us to seven great performances last night. But the remaining finalists were forced to look ahead on this evening’s results show, as America voted and revealed an inevitable, but sad result for one aspirant: He or she is going home. Who’s on to the top six and who’s out? It looked briefly like fan favorite Phillip Phillips might be in danger, but it came down to a surprising bottom three: Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and Elise Testone. That’s right, arguably the three best singers remaining on the show were in danger of getting booted, making for the most gut-wrenching elimination this year. The contestant getting the boot this week was an even bigger stunner, too. Who was it? You’re not going to believe it, but the lowest vote-getter was … Jessica Sanchez . The studio erupted in chaos at this news, but as she began to sing for her life, she was interrupted by Jennifer Lopez, who informed her that she had been … SAVED by the judges!! There it is, the one and only judges’ save of the season, used on a powerhouse performer who definitely didn’t deserve to be in danger, let alone go home. “We are saving Jessica, without a doubt!” Randy said as the judges engulfed her. “This girl is one of the best singers in America! Ever! Are you kidding me!” “Everybody, please vote for the best! Come on!” It remains to be seen if America will heed his words a week from now, but for now, all seven singers survive heading into next Wednesday’s Top 7: Reloaded. What do you think? Simon Cowell on Paula Abdul: I Almost Tapped That

It wasn’t all an act, Simon Cowell told Barbara Walters on her Most Fascinating People of 2011 special last night. He truly didn’t like Paula Abdul when the two first worked together. “The truth was on the first two seasons, we couldn’t’ travel on the same plane together,” Cowell said during his ABC interview. “We really disliked each other that much.” But things soon changed for the better, Simon says. For the much, much, nearly naked better! Cowell said he’s “a million percent” sure that Abdul wanted him back in the day. Did he consider critiquing her performance… in bed?!? Yes, “but then I thought… I don’t think the after would be as good as the before,” he said. “I’d let her stay for a few hours, but then it would have to be good night.” Did Simon make the right choice? Would YOU sleep with Paula Abdul?

For some strange reason, though, this fall isn’t even remotely funny. American Idol Shocker: Who Got Voted Out?

Three weeks into the American Idol finals, we were treated to our first surprise. Our first shock, really. Following an off night on Wednesday for a couple of THG favorites – Thia Megia and Casey Abrams – they found themselves in the bottom three along with Stefano Langone. It was a scary few moments for those of us who love Thia’s voice and Casey’s originality. In the end, Megia and Langone were told to join the other, safe contestants, while millions of jaws crashed to the floor when Ryan told Casey he had been voted out. He went back to “I Don’t Need No Doctor” in an attempt to be saved, but was told a few lines into the performance to stop because… Did the judges make the right choice this week? … the panel voted unanimously to save him! “We just want you to get back to being the musician that you are,” Jennifer said. “No more antics… You deserve to be here.” Two finalists will be voted out next Thursday, as Abrams stood on stage, truly taken aback and responding: “I thought that they wouldn’t use the save, because there’s 11 people. It’s unreal. I started singing, and the fact that you cut it scared the stuff out of me.”

Miley Cyrus to Paparazzi: Step Off!!

You go, Miley Cyrus! We don’t say that often, but we’re fully on the side of this young star in her latest beef with the paparazzi. Following lunch with her mom this week, Miley was asked by a reporter whether or not Lindsay Lohan should be angry as her for a Saturday Night Live skit . Harmless enough. But then a photographer bumped into Tish Cyrus and Miley WENT OFF on him: “What the… ? OK, are you serious? You just hit my mom with your camera… Don’t you ever do that again. You just almost hurt my mom. Don’t you ever even think about it. For real. That was crazy.” Miley Cyrus Takes on Paparazzi This isn’t the first time Cyrus has handled a reckless celebrity gossip journalist in an angry, yet calm and straightforward manner. She actually stepped out of her car and spoke down to one in October, as seen HERE . Take note, all paparazzo: this star’s family is off limits.

Off Target: Lady Gaga Ends Partnership With Chain Over Donations to Anti-Gay Group

You don’t mess with Lady Gaga. Especially when it comes to gay issues. The singer reportedly dissolved a deal with Target over its political donations to MN Forward, a political action group that supported an anti-gay candidate. When Target didn’t cut ties with that organization, Gaga pulled the plug. If there’s one thing that will set Lady Gaga off … Tom Emmer, who campaigned for governor of Minnesota in 2010 (he lost), supported a Christian rock organization that advocated violence against gays and supported a proposed state constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. The deal, which included an exclusive expanded edition of her forthcoming album Born This Way , was contingent upon Target supporting LGBT charities. Sources close to Gaga say she was not thrilled with the deal from the get-go, but had hoped to use her leverage in the agreement to push the company to redeem itself for having supported MN Forward and other anti-gay groups. The details of the broken deal have not yet been made public, but it looks like it’s over and done with . What do you think? Did Gaga make the right call?

Fox Shoots Down Ashley Madison Super Bowl Ad; Watch Now!

It may be hard to believe, but Fox actually has standards. The network will air Super Bowl XLV on February 6 and was recently pitched a 30-second advertisement for AshleyMadison dot com. Deeming it “not acceptable,” executives quickly rejected the spot. How come? The website matches up married individuals with potential dates… who are NOT their spouses. For our entertainment, Warwick Saint has released a number new/old Adam Lambert pictures. The photographer – who snapped the controversial, glamorous cover photo used by this artist for his debut album – considered multiple images for this featured shot. Eventually, he and Adam settled on this pic , which Lambert admitted was purposely over-the-top and campy. We love it. But it’s interesting to browse through the alternatives. Rick Ross Says Diddy Is Bringing Him To ‘Bigger And Better Things’

Ross says he didn’t really need a regular manager. “Me and my brother, Gucci Poochie — I came up from the streets with him — we really been doing this ourselves for the last few years,” Ross explained. “Gucci is me; really, I would say I was self-managed because my partner Gucci is me, we been doing it ourselves for so long. So the small, everyday managerial things, that was unnecessary [to involve Diddy in] at this point. “It was the even bigger and better things that are on the horizon, which continue to present themselves every day — things I never considered up to this point. Book deals, now we’re considering liquor endorsements, clothing lines, films, books. Me and F. Gary Gray [who directed Ross’ “Super High” video ] are talking about doing some things. I just wanna make sure I make the right decisions when those things present themselves. “The more time you spend with [Diddy], you understand the importance of relationships,” he added about what he’s learned from the legendary businessman. “In these few weeks, just the moves we’ve made have been big. Just us pulling off this F. Gary Gray video …” Diddy also produced some tracks on Ross’ forthcoming Teflon Don album , due July 6, and weighed in on other tracks as well. “I had a listening session just for our immediate circle: Diddy was in there, F. Gary Gray was in there,” Ross explained. “[Bad Boy Executive] Harve [Pierre], DJ Khaled, [Diddy’s manager] James Cruz, Gucci was in the building. We went through so many records. Just to hear Diddy’s input on the smallest things, from percussions, to snares, the production of the production. That’s what I want.
