Marshawn Lynch at Super Bowl Media Day: I’m Just Here So I Don’t Get Fined

Considering the way Tom Brady’s balls  have dominated the news cycle for the past week, you may have forgotten that there’s a football game to be played on Sunday.  #DeflateGate has served as evidence of just how weird our nation’s press coverage can get (particularly when you throw the Internet  into the mix).  Marshawn Lynch’s begrudging appearance at Super Bowl media day today served as yet another reminder that pro athletes and sports reporters are locked in a dead-heat to see who can be the most ridiculous. If you’re not familiar with Lynch, he’s a beast of a running back, but kind of a jackass as a human being. His history of bad behavior dates back to when Lynch ran a woman over and fled the scene during his time with the Buffalo Bills. Five years later, Lynch’s behavior is much less harmful, but no less idiotic. Already in hot water with the NFL for his refusal to speak to the media and his fondness for making “obscene gestures” on the field, Lynch was reportedly threatened with $500,000 fine if he didn’t show up to today’s press event. So he showed up. And proceeded to give the exact same answer 25 times: Marshawn Lynch: “I’m Just Here So I Won’t Get Fined” “I’m just here so I don’t get fined,” Lynch warned the reporters on hand. “So y’all can sit here and ask me all the questions y’all want to. I’m gonna answer with the same answer.” He wasn’t kidding. Beast Mode proceeded to say, “I’m here so I won’t get fined,” in response to every single question. Some members of the press expressed their frustration on Twitter, but really – weren’t they kinda playing ball by continuing to ask him questions? Say what you will about Lynch, if it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t have this nugget of YouTube gold: Marshawn Lynch: Hold My D! Sadly, he won’t be remembered as the source of the most epic Super Bowl XLIX quotes. Take it away, Tom: Tom Brady Defends Use of Balls 1. Don’t rub my balls! Leave that to me, please.

Shade Files? Vogue Editor Ana Wintour Says She Put KimYe On The Cover Because They Lack Taste & Cause Controversy

Ana Wintour Says Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Lack Taste But Are Controversial Kim Kardashian finally landing on the cover of Vogue magazine after her long-running , highly-publicized feud with editor-in-chief Ana Wintour was certainly a victory in her eyes, but recent comments from Ana on why she really put KimYe on her cover indicate that there might have been more shade than admiration involved on her part. via People Magazine Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s dreams came true with a Vogue magazine spread in April 2014 — just a month before the couple’s jetsetting wedding. In what seemed like the impossible, the fashion glossy got onboard, naming them #worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple on its cover. Seven months later (and on the conveniently timed heels of Kardashian’s Internet-breaking nude spread with Paper magazine), editor Anna Wintour opened up about the controversial Kimye cover in a conversation series at the Metropolitan Museum of New York on Monday, Nov. 17, with former CNN journalist Alina Cho. “The first celebrity that I put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at that time, too.  Now she’s part of the establishment. I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine! Nobody would talk about us.  It’s very important that people do talk about us.” Hmmmmm. Do you think Ana was being shady with her comments? WENN

Did The Seattle Seahawks Trade Percy Harvin To The Jets For Deeming QB Russell Wilson Not “Quite Black Enough?”

SMH didn’t ninjas learn anything from the “cornball brother” fiasco ? Percy Harvin Traded From Seahawks Because Of Racial Tensions In Locker Room Over Russell Wilson’s Blackness Looks like another black man has lost his gig, at least partly because of the way he questioned another man’s blackness … According to NY Post reports : There are several theories behind the stunning trade of Percy Harvin to the Jets. One new one is his relationship — or in this case, lack thereof — with quarterback Russell Wilson. A story from Bleacher Report portrays a locker room increasingly divided over Wilson and raises the possibility of racial tension among the Seahawks. The report, citing an anonymous player, said Harvin had “increasing animosity” toward Wilson and was leading a faction of the team that was beginning to dislike the young Super Bowl-winning quarterback. The report, citing multiple interviews with Seahawks players, says some of the African-Americans on the team feel the multiracial Wilson “isn’t black enough.” Furthermore, there is the belief within the Seahawks that Wilson isn’t accountable for his own mistakes, often blaming teammates for poor throws. The good news for Harvin is he still has a job. But some of his teammates are PISSED! The Seahawks learned of the trade before getting on the bus and Marshawn Lynch was so upset that his homie was shipped off he tweeted about it . AP/WENN
