This is What It’s Like to Interview Cheryl Hines About the New Season of Curb Your Enthusiasm

The season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm left Cheryl Hines in an interesting position: Would her character rekindle a relationship with her estranged husband Larry David, or was her habit of not using a coaster too much for him to bear? When I ran into Hines at an Emmy party recently, I tried to pry her for information about how involved she’ll be in the upcoming eighth season, but as you’ll see, she had a spoiler policy even Matthew Weiner would be impressed by .

‘Whaddya Say We Get Outta Here and Really Celebrate?’: Mad Men Recapped

You know what would have been really awkward? How about if Mad Men had not earned a 2010 Emmy nomination for Best Dramatic Series (let alone a win ), thus making Sunday night’s episode about Don’s big victory at the Clio Awards — and the drunken two-day bender that followed — one big swing and miss at a fat meta fastball over the heart of the plate? Then we would have had an average episode and an embarrassed Matthew Weiner, and heaven knows that just won’t do.

Will This Sexy, Misleading Mad Men Promo Yield Record Ratings?

With the season premiere of Mad Men just days away, AMC has done its best to make viewers hoping to hitch a ride onto the critically acclaimed drama feel welcome. That means airing a marathon of the best episodes from season three last night and scheduling Michael Clayton to run before the premiere (so they can capitalize on the “Jon Hamm is the Next George Clooney!” movement). But does this admittedly killer promo take things just a tad too far?

Matthew Weiner Finds New Ways to Reveal Nothing About Mad Men

If only Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were a little bit more like Matthew Weiner, then maybe the reaction to the Lost series finale would have been different. To wit: Darlton spent so much time building up expectations, that when certain aspects weren’t given satisfactory resolutions (see: infertility on the island), fans became enraged. Meanwhile, Weiner is the exact opposite — he seems to delight in revealing as little about Mad Men as possible. So what does he have to say about the upcoming fourth season?

Jimmy Fallon to Host Emmys

Neil Patrick Harris may have triumphed as the 2009 Emmys emcee, but now it’s NBC’ s turn to broadcast the show, and they’re selecting Jimmy Fallon to host the 2010 ceremony on August 29. Does this mean we’ll see a tuxedo-aided beer pong rematch with Betty White? What about a suspiciously choreographed Auto-Tune sketch ? Both will be fine distractions when Mad Men ‘s Matthew Weiner goes up to receive at least two more trophies. [ The Wrap ]
