Lindsay Lohan may be done partying and dating these days, but she’s not done seeking approval and attention from strangers on the Internet. While other celebrities were paying their respects to Joan Rivers on Twitter, Lindsay took to Instagram yesterday to subtly (in her mind) remind us that she was once an in-demand actress with a promising career ahead of her: That’s Lindsay with Meryl Streep doing a magazine shoot for the film A Prairie Home Companion in which they co-starred. Yes, Lindsay Lohan used to get cast in acclaimed films alongside esteemed actresses. It’s probably no coincidence that Lindsay chose to bring this long-forgotten fact to our attention the same day that Rivers died, as Linds was a favorite target of Rivers’, whereas Streep…well, everyone loves Meryl Streep. In fact, Rivers wrote about Streep attending her funeral just a few months before she died. It’s interesting, but kinda depressing to see Linds try and get one over on us while simultaneously flipping off a recently deceased legend. It’s like when you’re taking care of someone else’s kid, and the they try to convince you that their parents totally let them have ice cream for dinner. They think they’re being clever, but they just don’t have the mental capacity to realize how obvious they are. Remember when a new Beyonce-Jay Z divorce rumor seemed to surface every day? Well, ever since their tour ended, the hip hop power couple has done a complete 180, and now every 24 hours gives us more evidence that Jay and Bey are tighter than ever. As you may have heard, yesterday was Beyonce’s 33rd birthday . The Internet dubbed the occasion “Bey Day” and naturally Jigga got in on the celebration by paying someone to produce a 30-second video clip: Jay Z: Happy Birthday Beyonce! Now that’s love. The Carters also spent the day vacationing in Corsica, and Jay reportedly gifted Bey with diamonds, so we’re sure she was willing to overlook the fact that he clearly had nothing to do with the YouTube clip. It’s almost enough to make us believe Bey’s dads claims that the divorce rumors were a “trick” to boost ticket sales . Of course, that raises a whole bunch of other questions about why such a fabulously wealthy couple would resort to such a cheap trick to fool their fans. She will never be forgotten. Rivers stopped breathing during an operation on her vocal cords. She was placed in a medically induced coma and never regained consciousness. An autopsy was performed today to figure out exactly what prevented Rivers from recovering from her initial cardiac arrest, but medical examiners were left with no definitive answers. The official coroner’s report obtained by TMZ claims that no “cause and manner” of death could be determined. A further investigation that will include toxicology reports and interviews with medical professionals who have treated Rivers will be launched next week. Rivers funeral is scheduled for Sunday in New York City. In one of her recent memoirs, she stated that she hopes her funeral will be “Hollywood all the way,” joking that she wants actress Meryl Streep to be “crying in five accents.” We’re not sure if Streep will be on hand to turn on the Oscar-worthy waterworks, but judging from celebrity reactions to Joan’s death on social media yesterday, her send-off will certainly be a star-studded affair. 9 Hilarious Joan Rivers Moments 1. Even as he anticipated the sunset of his filmmaking career recently, Quentin Tarantino is looking ahead to who he’d like to work with, and Johnny Depp tops the list. The Django Unchained director said he’d like Depp to star in a future pic, but will only cement plans once he’s written the perfect part for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor. George Lucas apparently has much atoning to do for his decision to sell LucasFilm to Disney. The Star Wars creator and film mogul comes in for a heavy tweaking in the list of 10 Celebrity New Year’s Resolutions posted by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Funny or Die website. The resolution, one of 10 posted by A General Nonchalance, does not exactly suggest that hopes are running high for Disney’s reboot of the Star Wars franchise. Not all of the resolutions are movie-related. But those that do have a connection to film, however tenuous, are: That doesn’t sound so much like a resolution as it does large-scale fantasy fulfillment for potential Baby Goose stalkers out there. Meanwhile, Katy Perry’s “credibility” and Meryl Streep’s “modesty” are also in the crosshairs. Funny stuff, but the post left me wanting more. Movies are by no means the most relevant topic discussed last night on Piers Morgan when Harvey Weinstein filled in as guest host and interviewed former President Bill Clinton about politics, kids drinking soda, and how much ass Hillary is kicking these days, but the parts in which the Hollywood powerhouse and the ex-Prez talked movies were some sort of bizarrely fascinating colliding of worlds. So what is Clinton’s favorite movie? Clinton shared his childhood memories of moviegoing between discussions of more compelling (okay, real) issues. His trip down memory lane included vivid recollections of the good old days. “You could go to the movies for a dime, and I’d get 20 cents — I think you could get a Coke and a candy bar for a nickel.” (Well, he is over a dozen years older than Wilford Brimley was when he was the same age as Tom Cruise shooting Cocoon , or whatever.) Now, the hypothetical Weinstein-produced Clinton biopic — there’s an idea. Meryl Streep as Hillz? If anyone could make that happen, it’d be Weinstein. Better question: Who’d play Ryan Gosling ?
