Come On Mike: Former Presidential Candidate Huckabee Claims “‘Forcible Rapes Create ‘Extraordinary’ People”

In what we’d call the worst defense for Todd Akin to-date, Mike Huckabee spit some ridic statements. Standing by the side of the Republican candidate, former Presidential runner-up Mike Huckabee tried to explain why Women shouldn’t have an abortion…even if the conception of their unborn child was created because of rape! Huckabee used his syndicated radio program Monday to give the embattled candidate a safe venue to express remorse and his determination to remain in the race. Huckabee also took the opportunity to cast the best possible light on Akin’s awkward position. The former Arkansas governor and onetime GOP presidential contender suggested a couple of cases in which he suggested that rapes, though “horrible tragedies,” had produced admirable human beings. “Ethel Waters, for example, was the result of a forcible rape,” Huckabee said of the late American gospel singer. One-time presidential candidate Huckabee added: “I used to work for James Robison back in the 1970s, he leads a large Christian organization. He, himself, was the result of a forcible rape. And so I know it happens, and yet even from those horrible, horrible tragedies of rape, which are inexcusable and indefensible, life has come and sometimes, you know, those people are able to do extraordinary things.” We think this fool needs to check himself so he can come correct on Women’s Issues. We all have a choice but it seems they (repubs) seem to forget that we can make decisions for ourselves. Source Images via WENN

Mike Huckabee on Natalie Portman Slam: Read My Book!

Yes, Mike Huckabee said he was “troubled” by Natalie Portman’s pregnancy this week. And, yes, he accused the Oscar winner of boasting about her unmarried, expecting state ; and, yes, he said the actress is setting a “distorted image” for girls across the country. But the likely 2012 Presidential nominee has an explanation for these seemingly random, misguided allegations: it’s the fault of the damn mainstream media! How dare Natalie Portman glamorize pregnancy by… being pregnant! “These people should read my book and they would know what I said instead of what some left-wing partisans are attempting to put forth,” the politician said in a statement.

Jon Voight Discusses His Conservative Views, Tea Parties on FNC’s Huckabee

Actor Jon Voight appeared on the August 22 “Huckabee” to discuss, among other things, his conservative activism and the media’s misrepresentation of the Tea Party movement. Here’s a sample: MIKE HUCKABEE: We heard that there were people yelling racial epithets at some of the members of Congress. Did you hear anything like that? JON VOIGHT:  You know, when you saw this, folks, and you all read these things or you saw them on television, these rumors… are being distributed as truth. And I’m going to tell you  the quality of people that are in the Tea Parties are of such high moral character that if anybody in a group of those people came forth with a racial slur they would be called on the carpet… and they wouldn’t stand for it, and we would know their names today. But there’s no evidence of any of this, there’s no evidence that these things really happened that were portrayed as news.
