Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett: Together in L.A., and Life?!

As speculation continues to swirl regarding their past, present and future, Kendra Wilkinson and her husband Hank Baskett were spotted in L.A. Thursday. Photographed in the same SUV, it was the first time they’ve been seen together since his alleged affair with transsexual Ava London was exposed. Kendra on Top Clip – Baskett Case The Playmate seemed to be in good spirits as they drove to friend’s house, sparking rumors that Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett are still together . According to an eyewitness, when they got out of the car, which was driven by Hank, they both “were smiling and looked like a normal happy couple .” Kendra and Hank, the parents of two children together, proceeded to stay at the unknown friend’s place for about an hour before driving on home. The outing comes in the wake of reports that Hank cheated on his wife of five years, with a woman with a penis no less, leaving their union in peril. It has also been a crazy week for teasers for the new season of Kendra On Top , Wilkinson’s reality show on WeTV, which premieres on October 3. In teasers for Season 3, Kendra is shown looking like a total mess, and in promoting the show, she’s been opening up about the scandal for the first time. Long story short: Hank really cheated on Kendra and it sucks. Kendra Wilkinson Opens Up About Cheating Scandal K-Dubs told E! News’ Giuliana Rancic (above) about some of the turmoil in her personal life and how she handled hearing about his infidelity. “I get a call one night, a call from my agent, and he said to me, ‘Kendra, you know there’s a rumor going around, about you and Hank,” Wilkinson recalls. “The story is about [a husband] cheating on his wife with a transsexual,” Kendra says on the E! special Beyond Candid With Giuliana: Kendra Wilkinson Baskett . “This happened five weeks after giving birth to my daughter; we get a call saying, ‘Hank cheated on me with a transsexual?’ I just laughed about it.” The laughter didn’t last long. Heartbreak and intense fighting followed, as well as her decision to send Hank and their son to live in New Mexico for a time. Kendra, who did that to shield the toddler from the media firestorm, said one of the worst parts of all this has been “that people think that this is fake.” “I would never do this to myself,” Wilkinson emphasizes. “You know, I would never degrade myself like that.” Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett: In Happier Times 1. Oscars 2012: All-Time Most Controversial Winners

From ‘Shakespeare in Love’ to ‘Crash,’ a look back at the Academy Awards’ most memorable upsets. By Kevin P. Sullivan Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes in “Shakespeare in Love” Photo: Miramax Not every Academy Awards winner is met with praise and cinematic glory. Some past winners have come as surprises and even major disappointments to the audience, and among these, a handful will go down in history as outright injustices. Though a surprise victory on Oscar night can be thrilling, it can also deeply upset the viewers at home who’ve picked their favorites. As we gear up for the 2012 Oscars, here’s a look back at some of the most controversial wins in Academy Awards history. “How Green Was My Valley” Upsets “Citizen Kane” (Best Picture) Even though “Citizen Kane” has been touted as the greatest American movie of all time by the American Film Institute, back in 1942, it couldn’t even win the Academy Award as the year’s Best Picture. John Ford’s tale of a family struggling to make ends meet in a Welsh mining town beat Orson Welles’ masterpiece to take the honors and become the foremost example of Oscar injustice. “Ordinary People” Upsets “Raging Bull” (Best Picture) It upsets people when the film they feel is the best of year doesn’t win the top prize on Oscar night, but when the supposed film of the decade doesn’t win in its respective year, that’s a thing of controversy. Martin Scorsese’s gem about troubled boxer Jake LaMotta earned Robert De Niro an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1981, but Robert Redford’s family drama took the top honor. “Ordinary People” has since gone down in history as the film that stole the Oscar from the best movie of the 1980s. Marisa Tomei Wins for “My Cousin Vinny” (Best Supporting Actress) One of the most famous Oscar controversies in recent years came at the 1993 ceremony, when Jack Palance presented the award for Best Supporting Actress to Marisa Tomei. Many theorized Palance had misread the card, mistakenly giving the Oscar to Tomei. In the years since, the actress has gone on to earn two additional Academy Awards nominations. “Shakespeare in Love” Upsets “Saving Private Ryan” (Best Picture) The film that ushered in the era of Miramax domination in the awards scene, “Shakespeare in Love,” stole away Oscar glory from the one pegged as the odds-on favorite. Steven Spielberg’s sprawling World War II epic was heavily favored heading into the 1999 Academy Awards, and even though Spielberg took home the award for directing, many still hold onto the disappointment from the top category. “Crash” Upsets “Brokeback Mountain” (Best Picture) One of the best examples of the power of Best Picture backlash, the 2006 Academy Awards saw the tides turn away from Ang Lee’s tragic love story “Brokeback Mountain” and toward Paul Haggis’ “Crash” in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. If you need to better understand the shock that occurred, go back and watch Jack Nicholson announce “Crash” as the winner, throw his hands up and say, “Wow.” The MTV Movies team has the 2012 Oscars covered! Swoosie Kurtz on Mike and Molly, a Pushing Daisies Film and Finding Herself Onstage

Swoosie Kurtz has enjoyed a rich career that has spanned three mediums, netted one Emmy, garnered Broadway’s coveted “Triple Crown” and afforded her a trip into Bryan Fuller’s fantastically whimsical Pushing Daisies world, where she played a heavy-drinking, gun-toting, agoraphobic aunt who lost an eye while cleaning a litter box. This fall, nearly three decades after starring alongside Tony Randall in the sitcom Love, Sidney , Kurtz returns to the half-hour arena in Mike and Molly .

Neda video wins Polk journalism award

It's the first time the prestigious Polk award has been given in anonymity and the first award for videography. From their site ( http://www.brooklyn.liu.edu/polk/press/2009.html ): “The George Polk Award for Videography will recognize the efforts of the people responsible for recording the death of 26-year-old Neda Agha-Soltan at a June protest in Tehran, Iran, and uploading the video to the Internet. Ms. Agha-Soltan reportedly was shot by a pro-government militiaman. The video, which shows the woman collapsing to the ground and being attended to by several men as she lay dying on the street, became a rallying point for the reformist opposition in Iran after it was broadcast over the Internet. Seen by millions as it spread virally across the Web, the images quickly gained the attention of international media.” Is it representative of the death of professional journalism? I don't think so. It was professional journalists who put this video clip into context for us. Who told Neda Agha Soltan's story. Who have done exemplary and dogged work documenting on-going brutality from the Iranian regime. This award, however, is a recognition of how many of the most powerful and influential moments and images in journalism today come not from professional journalists but from ordinary people in extraordinary situations.
