Here’s An Exhaustive Look Back At The Kardashians’ Krazy 2017

Kendall Jenner Faces MORE Backlash Over New Commercial!

It's not tacitly supporting smoking or that stupid nightmare of a Pepsi commercial , but yet another Kendall Jenner advertisement is getting backlash. Yes. Again . We have the video for you below so that you can decide for yourself whether this warrants outrage. Kendall Jenner has appeared in a short advertisement for Adidas. That sounds innocuous enough, right? But so did Pepsi. Adidas is a brand that caters to athletes but, obviously, plenty of people wear Adidas. The short, dramatic ad shared by Adidas' Twitter account looks fine on the surface. And then you look and see the backlash. (The angry comments absolutely refer to the Pepsi debacle) These tweets were direct responses to the Adidas tweet, but even so they did not mince words. “This is so pandering to a market you'll never have! So not 'original' back to Nike with Serena, Nadal and other real athletes. Pepsi got it.” We don't think that Adidas is replacing Serena or whatever. Companies can make lots of ads with lots of different people. They're not “cheating” on Serena Williams. But it seems that, to some of Adidas' more passionate fans, the brand represents something that Kendall cannot achieve. “To me, adidas means: athlete, fitness, committed to hard work; impressions not personified by k jenner. you're just another brand. yawn.” Well … they have a sense of brand loyalty. We'll give them that. (Also: Adidas is also a brand, folks) People seemed genuinely angry, even: “Kendall Jenner???? Really?!??? There is NOTHING original about having this ridiculous image front your brand…come on adidas!! Do better!!” The most needless dramatic one was this one: ” # adidasOriginalsxAW literally just threw out everything adidas i owned after the @ KendallJenner ad. Will never buy again” Some people misuse the word “literally,” but … it's entirely possible that this Twitter user was being literal. Of course, this is yet again a case of Kendall Jenner doing her job. She is a model. Her job is to model. The only reason that she seems to get the backlash rather than the companies that hire her is because she's famous on her own, and so also seems like a target for people's ire. Now, we're not saying that Kendall Jenner is blameless. She could refuse to take jobs — though that's not really great for your career. And Kendall and Kylie's terrible and disrespectful shirts were a different story, because that's a direct part of their brand instead of a gig for someone else. But Kendall didn't come up with this Adidas ad any more than she came up with that Pepsi commercial. She's a model, doing her job. Personally, I found the tone of this particular batch of backlash to be a little disturbing. There's a strong suggestion in those tweets that says that Kendall shouldn't do an Adidas commercial because she isn't an athlete. First of all, anybody can wear “athletic” brands, folks. You don't need to do yoga to wear yoga pants. Those tweeters were acting like Kendall was doing cultural appropriation (again). That does NOT apply to workout clothes, folks. Kendall doesn't have to spend her whole career selling perfume and sexy underwear (though she can if she likes). If models who aren't athletes can't sell athletic gear, what next? Will they make models who sell clothes actually wear clothes in the posters? We hope not.

Kim Kardashian Speaks Out, Denies Cocaine Rumors

It’s not every day that a celebrity of Kim Kardashian’s standing has to scramble to shut down rumors over Twitter. But after fans noticed something suspicious and out-of-place in one of Kim’s Snapchat videos, the reality personality and social media star took to Twitter in an effort to quash the story before it could take off. We’ll see if that was enough to put the rumors to rest. … So, that looks like a run-of-the-mill still from yet another Kim Kardashian Snapchat video. She’s talking about her products dropping on the 17th and, you know, the usual Kardashian deal. Remember, the Kardashians kept pushing their products even through the explosive start to the Rob Kardashian-Blac Chyna feud . It’s kind of who they are, at this point. Kim’s also, very obviously, using a Snapchat filter that adds a flower crown … and makes her look like some sort of frightening apparition. (She can use whatever Snapchat filter she likes just like she can use whatever makeup she likes) (But … it looks how it looks, and people are entitled to opinions) So, that’s all business as usual … except, as some eagle-eyed fans noticed, for something that the mirror reveals. Look in the reflection, at that black countertop. Do you see the two streaks of what appears to be some sort of mysterious white powder? It’s in the corner, right over her shoulder. Some fans immediately wondered if they might be looking at a couple of lines of cocaine. Today, Kim took to Twitter in an effort to shut down the rumors before they can really take off. “I do not play with rumors like this so I’m gonna shut it down real quick.” She’ll try, at least. “That’s sugar from our candy mess from dylan’s candy shop.” So, somebody’s sugary treat of some variety left a pair of somewhat linear messes on that countertop, and she didn’t think anything of it and didn’t want to wait for a cleaning lady to take care of it before plugging her products. That’s … plausible, right? Now, the Kardashians aren’t a perfect lot. Khloe can be controlling, Kendall can be tone-deaf, Rob Kardashian may face criminal charges and his every move seems like an almost comical mistake by an unrelenting dumbass. But Kris Jenner didn’t raise her daughters to carelessly flash drugs on Snapchat, you know? And, if we’re being honest, coke doesn’t really seem like Kim’s style. (Is this where we make an obligatory joke about Kendall Jenner’s infamous Pepsi commercial ?) (Get it? Because … coke? You know what, never mind) Kim’s actually way less of a party girl than you’d think. She claims to not even like the taste of alcohol. (Though, like, you don’t have taste buds on the inside of your nose, but we get the idea) Also, those look a little spread out to be lines of coke. We feel like we might actually believe her here. It’s not that we’ve never been surprised before, but Kim seems too judgmental about even something as simple as drinking to be much of a coke fiend. (Though some people judge the hell out of others for drinking but don’t mind hard drugs, so you really never know) But, though it wouldn’t rule out her covering for someone else, it seems totally plausible that Kim Kardashian being a busybody is her biggest vice. Kim might regret her tweet, though. Sometimes nothing fuels rumors more than a denial. View Slideshow: Kim Kardashian on Kourtney Kardashian Birthday Party: Nipple Clamps, Nude Cartwheels and More!

Kylie Jenner: Look at My Boobs, Not My New Lips!

It looks like Kylie Jenner’s back at it again. Not just with social media pics — well, that too — but it looks like she may have gotten a little work done. A little more work done, anyway. We know that we’re supposed to be looking at her boobs here, emphasized as much by that white top as by her seatbelt. But our eyes keep darting to those lips. They don’t just look plump, they look painfully full. Kylie’s admitted to overfilling her lips in the past, but we guess that she hasn’t learned from past mistakes. Though … really, if she learned from past mistakes, we all would have forgotten who Tyga was in, like, 2015. If only . These lips don’t just look big, they look painful. Anyone who’s ever microwaved some chicken apple sausage — because who has time to cook with an oven? — can easily imagine those lips bursting open under pressure. We keep touching our lips and wincing at that pic, you know? It’s one thing to inflate your lips too much for taste. But it’s another thing to make them look so big that it’s hard to close your mouth.. Regular, non-painful big lips look good. You don’t have to follow fashion magazines or even put that much thought into the faces that you find attractive to do that. Just, like, go to the character creation screen of any video game — the better looking faces are gonna have the lip size sliders pretty far to the right. As far as fashion is concerned, yeah, you have to grudgingly admit that Kylie’s been a part of people worrying so much about having big lips. Just like the Kardashians as a whole have been influential in the conversation about butt sizes. But isn’t to say that they deserve credit. See, the Kardashians seem to be all about cultural appropriation. From putting their hair in dreads or cornrows to trying to claim ownership over bodily features associated with black women, the Kardashians are what you’d call problematic . And while Kendall Jenner, when she’s not starring in tone-deaf Pepsi controversies , usually just does her modeling thing instead of raiding African-American culture and claiming the spoils as her own, Kylie is a major offender. We might not be saying this if we thought that her curves were 100% grass-fed free-range organic, because your body shape is your body shape. But … come on, guys. Kylie’s figure is such an hourglass that you expect a movie villain to dramatically turn her upside down to begin a countdown. The lips are such a big thing, because when the good folks at Black Twitter blow off some steam, it’s not uncommon to hear them look at white celebrities who are being praised for their looks and wonder where that star’s lips are. Which is, you know, a harmless critique, and Kylie “fixing” her own lips might not be a big deal if she didn’t then use them to market her own lip products. As if big lips are a Kylie thing. It’s kind of like how the white cheerleaders in the movie Bring It On always stole the routines of the black cheerleaders. And the thing is that, despite the probably millions of words written on the subject of Kylie’s very specific antics, she’s probably not even aware of it. Celebrities exist in a bubble, folks. To Kylie, any well-conceived criticism on social media probably gets drowned out by random vitriol until it all just looks like “haters.” View Slideshow: 19 Reasons to Believe Kylie Jenner Got a Boob Job

Kendall Jenner: Caitlyn Jenner is INSANE!

Kendall Jenner tends to keep pretty quiet about her family's relentless drama. Actually, she tends to keep quiet about her family in general … when she makes any sort of public statement, in an interview or on social media, she rarely brings up that side of her personal life. But while Kendall seems to enjoy Calvin Klein underwear shots and saving the world with Pepsi more than anything else, there are certain occasions in which she just can't avoid the drama. And what better venue for that drama than Keeping Up with the Kardashians? In Sunday night's new episode of the show, the family discusses Caitlyn Jenner's tell-all , The Secrets of My Life. We've seen a tiny bit of Kendall's view on the book — remember, she slapped her hands on a table and cried out “That's insane!”? Well, now we're seeing more of her reaction … and it's not good. In this new sneak peek, Kendall explains to Kris that Kim told her about Caitlyn's book. “I heard about all this stuff that she was saying in it,” she tells her, “and just how a lot of it's so not true.” Interestingly enough, Kendall says that she doesn't think Caitlyn is lying, at least not on purpose. “I think she really just thinks that's what happened, for some weird reason,” she says. Kris says that it's a shame Cailtyn didn't handle the business of writing a memoir in a different way, because if she'd just written about her own journey, she would have had “great respect” for it. Unfortunately, and as we know so very well at this point, that's not what happened . “There's lies that are printed in a book that lives there for the end of time,” Kris laments, “so your children are going to read this book about their grandparents and have a story that's fabricated.” And that's when Kendall brings up one of the best points yet. “She goes around dissing the Kardashians, but it's like 'those are the kids that you raised. If you have a problem with them, you raised them ,'” she says. “That makes no sense to me that she would go around bashing us for no reason.” And that, it turns out, is what Kendall believes is so insane. Check out Kendall's outburst in full in the video below:

Erin Moran: Husband Reveals Cause of Death, Mourns Actress in Moving Letter

Earlier this week, Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi actress Erin Moran passed away at the age of 56. Little was known about Moran’s cause of death in the days after the news of her passing went public, but that didn’t prevent one of her former co-stars from speculating. Scott Baio, who played the other title character in Joanie Loves Chachi, stated that he was “not surprised” by Moran’s death . Even worse, he incorrectly attributed her premature demise to her history of drug and alcohol abuse. “I feel bad because her whole life, she was troubled, could never find what made her happy and content,” Baio said in an interview on Monday. “For me, you do drugs or drink, you’re gonna die.” After it was revealed that Moran likely died of cancer and not of an overdose, the criticism of Baio grew louder, with many demanding the actor apologize. Instead, Baio defended his comments in a bizarrely Trump-ian Twitter tirade. The 56-year-old tweeted: “This is so wrong.” “Now I know what fake news is! I said ‘IF’ (You abuse drugs/alcohol). My wife @MrsScottBaio spoke to Erin less than 1 month ago.” Now it seems that Baio has finally come to an important realization (better late than never) in the aftermath of this controversy: He should be trying to make amends to Moran’s family, not flailing about in an effort to salvage what’s left of his career. Moments ago, Baio posted a lengthy open letter penned by Moran’s husband, Steve Fleischmann, which confirms what law enforcement officials revealed yesterday: Moran was battling stage four cancer at the time of her death. Fleischmann revealed that the cancer acted fast, having only been discovered in November: “Erin woke up and had about a dime size blood stain on her pillowcase,” he wrote. “She said I think i bit my tongue. A couple days go by and there’s a bigger spot of blood.” “We get like 4 days into December, there’s more blood. I get a flashlight and say let me look. It was not her tongue it was her tonsil on the left side.” “I thought it was tonsillitis.” He added: “So we went to an ENT who said they wanted to biopsy it. It came back squamous cell carcinoma. She started radiation and chemo.” “Five days a week radiation and chemo only on Thursdays,” he recalls. “We did that the whole time. It got so bad so fast.” Fleischmann went on to offer a heartbreaking account of his wife’s final moments: “I laid down next to her held her right hand in my left.” “I feel asleep woke up about a hour later still holding her hand and she was gone, she was just gone. Norton Cancer Institute never said how bad it was.” “The coroner told me it was really really bad. It had spread to her spleen, she had a lot of fluid in her lungs and part of her brain was infected.” He added that by the time the cancer was discovered, it was already too late to have a realistic chance of saving Erin. “The coroner said even if she was in the hospital being pumped full of antibiotics she still would not of made it,” he recalls.  “He said it was the best that she was with me and went in her sleep,” Fleischmann concluded with a plea for sensitivity from fans and the media: “PLEASE feel free to send the above to Any and ALL news outlets The press has been relentless,” he wrote. “They knock on the door constantly.” Our thoughts go out to Fleischmann and the rest of Moran’s family at this difficult time. Shea Moisture Apologizes for Controversial Ad: We Really F–ked This One Up!

Shea Moisture isn’t often confused with PepsiCo. But, like the soda giant just a few weeks ago , the beauty brand has been forced to issue an apology in the face of mounting criticism over an ad its long-time customer base finds very distasteful. First, let’s take a look at the commercial in question: Shea Moisture Ad As you can see, the spot opens with an African-American woman who says she was mocked throughout the years for her natural curls. The video then transitions to a blonde woman who explains that she didn’t “know what to do” with her hair, followed by a redheaded woman complaining about dyeing her locks. The overall message here is for people to “break free from hair hate.” Unlike that horrid Kendall Jenner ad , It may be difficult to understand the controversy behind this commercial at first. A bit of background helps: The company was founded by Richelieu Dennis, who came to the United States from Liberia and who has always focused on women of color. As a result, those who have used and followed Shea Moisture for years believe this spot is an example of the company turning its back on its roots in the black community. Critics think the above commercial is an affront Shea’s core customer. Others don’t fault Shea for certain aspects of the ad, but believe the company wasn’t really seeing the big picture: “Seeing Shea Moisture make a campaign trying to expand their brand to white people by getting rid of their target audience is upsetting,” wrote another user. And these critiques didn’t fall on deaf ears. In an usual move, not only did the company yank this commercial… it issued a detailed, honest, sort of hilarious mea culpa in response. “Wow, okay – so guys, listen, we really f–ked this one up,” Shea wrote on Facebook, adding at length: “Please know that our intention was not – and would never be – to disrespect our community, and as such, we are pulling this piece immediately because it does not represent what we intended to communicate. “You guys know that we have always stood for inclusion in beauty and have always fought for our community and given them credit for not just building our business but for shifting the beauty landscape.” The statement concluded: While this campaign included several different videos showing different ethnicities and hair types to demonstrate the breadth of each individual’s hair journey, we must absolutely ensure moving forward that our community is well-represented in each one so that the women who have led this movement never feel that their hair journey is minimized in any way. Thank you all, as always, for the honest and candid feedback. We hear you. We’re listening. We appreciate you. We count on you. And we’re always here for you. Thank you, #SheaFam, for being there for us, even when we make mistakes. Here’s to growing and building together… Pretty good response, right? The Facebook post above has been Liked nearly 6,000 times in just a few hours, so it looks as if the company is on the right track.
