Upon shaking her hand, he asked that the writer not turn the handshake into a #MeToo moment… “Please don’t put me on MeToo,” Cosby said to a female reporter as he shook her hand. The audacity! Cosby is set to face a retrial in April for the alleged sexual assault of Andrea Constand. Last year the jury was deadlocked and the judge declared a mistrial. I know Emily Ratajkowski is a real supermodel, unlike all those other Insta-wannabes and professional rich kids out there, so I fully understand why she made it onto this Harper’s Bazaar cover. What I don’t understand is why she’s fully-clothed. I mean, if you’re going to hire Emily for a photoshoot and then have her wear something other than a bikini, lingerie or nothing at all, what’s the point? Or nah? This week, for a special segment on forgiveness Megyn Kelly sat down with a white former police officer and one of the black men he framed, resulting in a ten-year sentence for drug dealing. Watch below: Here are the basics: Andrew Collins started falsifying warrants and police reports while working at the Benton Harbor Police Department. Three years later, while on the job, Collins mistakenly accused Jameel McGee of dealing drugs. Collins tailored police report falsely stating McGee was in possession of drugs and the man was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in jail. Three years into his sentence, McGee discovered Collins had been arrested. Collins told Kelly that he was “called to” reconcile with McGee after coincidentally meeting him in a park. “How did you get past the point of ‘Oh, no,’ to now they call each other brothers?” Kelly asked McGee. McGee suggested God had brought the two men together: “I know it wasn’t my doing.” “It was the Lord,” Kelly insisted. “It took years to get to this point,” McGee noted. Collins said that he had also been able to forgive himself after years of being a dirty cop. “Because I can’t walk through what God has for me if I’m going to keep myself in a prison of my past,” Collins opined. “And we also realized that God saved this story for a very unique time in our country. You know, you see a black man who was innocent, completely innocent, framed by a white police officer.” In 2011, after finally forming a friendship, Collins and McGee wrote their book, Convicted: A Crooked Cop, An Innocent Man And An Unlikely Journey of Forgiveness. Matt Lauer has finally addressed the actions that prompted NBC to fire him in the middle of the night on Monday. Two days after he was let go due to what network executives deemed to be ” inappropriate sexual behavior ,” the long-time Today Show host has issued a lengthy statement. He doesn’t deny very much about what has been said about him in it. Through his own publicist, Lauer said the following this morning. We’ll just go ahead and run it word-for-word: There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly. Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I’m committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job. The last two days have forced me to take a very hard look at my own troubling flaws. It’s been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love. I thank them for their patience and grace. Lauer, of course, is the latest major name in Hollywood to be accused of some kind of sexual harassment or misconduct. Sparked by a report that exposed producer Harvey Weinstein as a serial predator, victims have been inspired for weeks to come forward. As a result, A-Listers such as Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K. and Charlie Rose have been exposed, accused fired or all of the above. But Lauer is probably the biggest name so far, considering how long he had served as lead anchor on Today, greeting millions of viewers every morning. There had been rumors for years that NBC might let him go due to alleged attitude problems and falling ratings. Not due to the sort of allegations that are now surrounding the embattled star. He reportedly sent co-workers sex toys and demanded they be used in his presence. He reportedly dropped his pants in front of underlings and asked them to perform a sex act. He reportedly bent a staffer over a chair in his office and had sex with her against her will, to the point that she passed out halfway through the interaction. These accusations are way past the point of the occasional inappropriate or misguided touch. It seems truly astounding (and confusing and depressing) that such actions could have been going on for so long at such a major program; without colleagues either knowing or caring enough to do anything about them. Today remains the most-watched morning program among viewers between 25 and 54, the demographic most coveted by advertisers in news programming. Lauer had been the head anchor since 1994, earning more than $25 million per year with his new contract. It’s unclear at the moment who will take his place alongside Savannah Guthrie each morning, but that’s not really anyone’s focus right now. We’re just trying to figure out what happened at the show, how it went unreported for so long… and whether we’d feel bad if Lauer were hung by his toenails for the next several hours. Upon dismissing Lauer, NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack said the following: “On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer… “Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender. “We are deeply saddened by this turn of events. 2017 is a wild ride. The perfidious predators in Hollywood are getting exposed, but we all live in perpetual anxiety that the world will be destroyed because of an impulsive lunatic. That’s … all kind of depressing. But Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy , bizarre and unexpected though it may be, is a welcome distraction. For us. Apparently, Kylie’s finally reached the point where the realities of her condition are starting to freak her out. Though Kylie and her family are still, for reasons unknown and perhaps beyond the comprehension of us mere mortals, refusing to actually acknowledge it … The whole world knows that Kylie is pregnant. We can only assume that her comical efforts to hide her baby bump are a prelude to some “big reveal” that Kris Jenner dreamed up. (That woman really knows how to turn any unfortunate situation into a huge source of success; in another life, Kris Jenner might have conquered the world by now) Of course, some are paranoid that Kylie Jenner is faking her pregnancy . Her motives for that would be unclear. Maybe she’s trolling fans or trying to get revenge against the people who report on her life by stringing them along. That said, people who’ve spotted Kylie Jenner say that she looks pregnant. As well she ought to — she’s reportedly due in just a few months. And it looks like that looming due date, and the changes to her body, are finally getting to Kylie. Remember, she’s only 20, and she got pregnant at 19 with a rebound guy she’d been seeing for maybe a month. There’s a lot to freak out about. A source tells RadarOnline that Kylie Jenner is over her pregnancy’s honeymoon phase. “Honestly, Kylie is just an emotional wreck right now.” Well, that sure isn’t mincing any words, is it? “She does not know what to do or [whom] to trust, and she is just so vulnerable right now.” Is the issue about worrying that a “friend” will snap a photo of her baby bump? that could keep her in isolation. Or maybe Kylie’s having trouble confiding her feelings in people. That could be worse, and much more isolating. “Her age is really starting to show.” You know, it’s funny — usually, when we talk about someone’s age showing, we talk about a teacher talking about how handsome Errol Flynn was we talk about someone not knowing who Ariana Grande is. In this case, it’s not old age that’s allegedly showing — it’s Kylie’s youth and immaturity. Sure, people have said “oh, she’ll make a great mom” and praised Kylie for being mature or whatever … but that’s just something that people say. According to that same source, Kylie’s feeling scared at the moment. “She does not know how to be an adult, let alone be a mother.” Remember, Kylie is set to give birth well before she’s old enough to legally drink alcohol in the US. Yeah, alcohol and pregnancy don’t mix, but the point is that Kylie is really young for someone who’s becoming a mother. And she’s basically never had responsibilities in her life aside from appearing on a reality series. Other women become moms at her age, but most of those other women have had real jobs before and probably have more realistic ideas of what parenting entails. But RadarOnline ‘s source says that Kylie is feeling isolated. “She’s feeling so alone!” Now, all of that sounds believable. But here’s where it starts to sounds like RadarOnline ‘s source is reporting from a parallel universe where everything is all topsy-turvy: “Kylie is trying to rely on Kris, but Kris has made it clear she simply does not have the time to deal with it.” That … doesn’t sound like the Kris Jenner whom we have all come to know and love (and fear). Kris Jenner ignoring her youngest daughter doesn’t sound plausible. Kris Jenner ignoring her pregnant daughter sounds like someone’s fever-dream. There’s no way that Kris Jenner is unwilling to help Kylie through her pregnancy and her transition into motherhood. But that doesn’t preclude Kylie from feeling like Kris doesn’t care. Feelings, strange as this may sound, are sometimes less than rational. Kylie’s dealing with more right now than she’s ever dealt with before.
