After inciting controversy on Tuesday, Jan. 13, with her remark that showering daily is “such a white people thing,” Naya Rivera attempted to wash away some of her bad karma with an apology. The Glee star, 28, returned to the scene of the crime — The View — as a guest host on Wednesday, Jan. 14, and offered a mea culpa to viewers who took offense to her previous comments. “Showering. Biggest topic in pop culture today, in my opinion. Thanks to me, unfortunately,” she quipped during the show’s Hot Topics segment. “Yesterday, we were talking about a study that says you’re supposed to shower once or twice every three days. I had an opinion on it that was supposed to be a joke. Apparently it didn’t go over so well.” (That might be an understatement. Viewers took Rivera to task for the offhand remark, sharing their own opinions of her opinion on Twitter. “When YOU tell the world YOU shower every 3 days that says more about YOU not us Naya Rivera,” one person wrote, adding that “some things are better left unsaid.”) Rivera claimed on Wednesday that she was kidding at the time, saying, “It was supposed to be a joke, but I apologize if anyone was offended.” She went on to quote some of the tweets she’d received, including one from user @retiredfilth that said, “Now white people gonna think we don’t shower cuz of Naya Rivera.” The View co-host Nicolle Wallace, for one, said the actress deserved a break. “Back off of Naya,” Wallace told viewers. “She’s very clean.” Fellow co-host Rosie O’Donnell piped in, too, saying she’d read something about how “doctors say that you should take a bath” anyway. “Thank you, that’s what I do,” she quipped. Sherri Shepherd is said to be particularly concerned that her racy selfies may soon go public, but it’s not the infamous iCloud hacker she’s worried about – it’s her disgruntled ex, Lamar Sally. Sherri and Lamar split earlier this year amidst allegations that he cheated on her. They were soon embroiled in a bizarre custody battle involving a surrogate and plenty of changing stories from both parties. By the end, Shepherd wanted no part in raising the child , and claimed that Lamar had convinced her to have a baby in order to exploit her financially. Now it seems, Sally may have found a different way to squeeze money from Shepherd: Radar Online reports that Lamar is in possession of dozens of nude photos of his famous ex, and he’s already turned down a $100,000 offer to return them to Sherri. Their feud bordered on epic over the past year, but no longer. Teen Mom co-stars Catelynn Lowell and Farrah Abraham hugged it out this weekend. We’re as surprised as you are, trust us. Who’s next, Jenelle?! Ultimately, it was VH1’s Couples Therapy that brought a couple of enemies together and got them to hash out their issues and bury the hatchet. Just a few weeks ago, the pregnant Lowell called Abraham “gross” after re-tweeting a photo of her fellow reality star’s line of sex toys. Which are a bit gross. Prior to that Abraham previously slammed Lowell and Tyler Baltierra for continuing their gigs on Teen Mom long after their teen years had come to a close. Farrah criticized them for making “poor choices” in their relationship; they hit back that Farrah made porn and that there’s really not a whole lot else to say. They’re not wrong, but it’s all water under the bridge now. Abraham posted in the early morning hours of August 9: “Thank you & happy we now know @catelynnlowell @TylerBaltierra that futures are bright & were all moving forward for the best Congrats!” “Was so nice seeing you and cleaning the air much love!” Lowell responded minutes later, while Baltierra, who was also heavily involved in the feud, added: “Let us know when the restaurant opens, we would love to come!” Abraham’s new restaurant is set to open soon in Austin, provided its website is no longer being hacked with graphic images of the Backdoor Teen Mom diva. We’ll have to wait until the Couples Therapy reunion show airs to see how they were able to talk this out , but it’s clearly for the best for all parties involved. Sure, we enjoy a good feud, but there are little kids involved; Cate is pregnant for a second time and Farrah … needs something positive to show Sophia. She has enough things to explain.
