#BijouStarFiles: Amber Rose Wins Lawsuit Against Wiz Khalifa’s Mom

More here:

Source: Paul Archuleta / Getty This takes beefing with your in-laws or in this case ex in-laws to another level.  Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa’s mom are clearly on beef time but at least they won’t have to deal with their family drama in court now. Amber Rose did not inflict emotional distress on Wiz Khalifa’s mom by allegedly blaming her for Wiz’s sister’s death … so says a judge who just tossed the lawsuit. Katie Wimbush-Polk just got thrown out of a Pennsylvania court because Amber’s alleged statement was insulting, but it wasn’t extreme and outrageous … which is required in order to prove emotional distress. Jordan Peele’s Thoughts On Harvey Weinstein: “First Of All, F*ck Him”

Original post:

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty It’s no secret that a lot of people in the industry were already not too fond of Harvey Weinstein before, knowing whisperings of all of the allegations that have been coming to light for weeks now.  It’s also no secret that Weinstein is far from the only powerful industry head being accused of committing sexual assault, with powerful men from virtually every industry being thrown accusations from former co-workers left and right. The Hollywood Reporter ‘s latest Writer’s Roundtable featured Get Out ‘s Jordan Peele along with other huge creative individuals like  Darren Aronofsky , Aaron Sorkin , and Fatih Akin . One topic of discussion amongst the table of creatives was how power is “abused” by producers and within the system. Once it was Peele’s turn to speak on the matter, he definitely didn’t hold back, and spoke candidly on how he felt about the Hollywood figure: “To the Harvey [matter], first of all, f**k him. He’s an a**hole. But that goes to this greater question of this systemic problem, as well. The industry is just part of the system, and its shortcomings [are those of] the larger system. There is this systemic issue that holds many of us back and many of us behind. I’ve never met Harvey Weinstein. But I know that there are many other people who are similar out there.” THR  noted that this Roundtable was held back on October 10, so though the initial Weinstein scandal was already being publicized, Jordan technically could have just been speaking on the corrupt system of Hollywood in general.

Emmy Rossum Talks TV Turkey with The Hollywood Reporter [PIC]

And by “turkey”, of course, we mean those juicy little fryers she’s got hanging off of her chest. Emmy Rossum didn’t quite match the outstanding nude heights of Shameless ‘ first season this year, but our hard-on rages on for the enchanting Ms. Rossum. Apparently The Hollywood Reporter ‘s does too, because when they asked Emmy to participate in their annual Emmy roundtable (coincidence? we think not), it didn’t take long for talk to turn to her awesome assets. Charles Barkley Calls Out Brett Favre, Small Junk

Brett Favre crossed the line by allegedly texting pics of his penis to Jenn Sterger , but not in the way that the media has been reporting it, Charles Barkley feels. Barkley told The Roundtable on WJOX in Birmingham, Ala., that he is “100 percent against sexual harassment,” but that Sterger never accused Favre of that. The whole Brett Favre scandal has been a “witch hunt,” in Barkley’s mind: “I don’t know Brett Favre, but worst case … Brett Favre’s just a freak apparently.” Barkley: Favre “broke one of the Ten Commandments.” In fact, Sir Charles goes on, “My biggest problem with the whole Favre thing is if you’re going to send a woman a picture of your junk, it should be huge.” “You can’t send small junk to a woman and expect anything.” Well, there you have it. Listen to his remarks here . Then watch a recent interview he gave with David Letterman in which Barkley made similar points … Barkley on Letterman

Tom Friedman Rips Obama: ‘Completely Over-read Mandate…Never Seen Worse Communicating Administration’

New York Times columnist Tom Friedman on Sunday accused Barack Obama of badly misreading his Election Day mandate, and said the current White House is the worst communicating administration he’s ever seen. Appearing on the Roundtable segment of ABC’s “This Week,” Friedman blasted the President saying, “I’m for more health care. I’m glad we’ve extended it to more Americans. But the fact is there’s a real, I think, argument for the case that Obama completely over-read his mandate when he came in.” Friedman continued, “He was elected to get rid of one man’s job, George Bush, and get the rest of us jobs. I think that was the core thing, and by starting with health care and not making his first year the year of innovation, expanding the economy and expanding jobs, you know, I think looking back, that was a political mistake.” Moments later, the Times columnist said, “I’ve never seen a worse communicating administration” (video follows with partial transcript and commentary): TOM FRIEDMAN, NEW YORK TIMES: Walter Shapiro had a column the other day which I think made a good point. Look, I’m for more health care. I’m glad we’ve extended it to more Americans. But the fact is there’s a real, I think, argument for the case that Obama completely over-read his mandate when he came in. He was elected to get rid of one man’s job, George Bush, and get the rest of us jobs. I think that was the core thing, and by starting with health care and not making his first year the year of innovation, expanding the economy and expanding jobs, you know, I think looking back, that was a political mistake. Not surprisingly, Friedman’s colleague at the Times blamed it all on Republicans. PAUL KRUGMAN, NEW YORK TIMES: He needs now to say it’s the other guys who are blocking action. He needs to lay out a philosophy. I’m not sure if there’s any way to save the House, but if he can, it can do it not by actually changing the economy in the few weeks remaining, but by making this an issue. Do you really want these guys’ economic plan? And then he has to campaign for it. Amanpour then referred to an article by Richard Cohen about to be published in the Washington Post talking about Obama as the incredible shrinking president. CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR, HOST: He says, “The folks who ran a very smart presidential campaign in ’08 have left the defining of the Obama presidency to people on the edge of insanity.” But then he goes on to talk about his Oval Office address this week, about Iraq, about turning to Afghanistan and the economy. He says, “It was only his second Oval Office address, and so great importance was attached to it. He should have had something momentous to say.” Is that fair? FRIEDMAN: I think it is fair. You know, one of the criticisms certainly I’ve had and many others have had, this is not I think original, there’s been no narrative to this administration. To me, I think Barack Obama was elected for one thing – which I’m not sure he ever fully understood – to do nation building at home, to do nation building in America. That to me was the central tent pole. Under that was health care, jobs, you know, economy, innovation, education, energy, okay? He’s never tied it together it seems to me under one single narrative. And then, therefore, he’s fought each issue against a different constituency. There’s never been a unifying message. I’ve worked here since 1989. I’ve personally just as a reporter, columnist in Washington, I’ve never seen a worse communicating administration, just at the basic technical level of, hey, we’ve got a good plan, you know, maybe someone out there would be interested in writing about it, since I’ve been to Washington. More and more it’s becoming clear this President is losing his once gushing and fawning press. If only these same folks would have actually examined the junior senator from Illinois’ record before jumping on his bandwagon in 2007. I guess that would have been too much like journalism.

Which Mad Men Dress is Christina Hendricks’s Favorite?

In a Newsweek Emmy roundtable , Christina Hendricks revealed that her favorite dress from Mad Men is the infamous purple dress with a pink sash from season one , a.k.a. “the Roger dress.” Said Hendricks: “I wore it in a scene in a scene with John Slattery in a hotel room, and I’m getting dressed and doing up this scene. I really liked that scene, so it stood out to me.” It also happens to be the dress used to outfit the unbearably fabulous Joan Holloway Barbie doll . [ ONTD , Project RunGay ]

George Will: Obama Is An Expert At Selling Snake Oil

George Will on Sunday accused Barack Obama of being an expert at selling snake oil. As the Roundtable segment of ABC’s “This Week” began, host Jake Tapper asked Will if the President’s claim that Republicans “are peddling that same snake oil that they’ve been peddling now for years” will resonate with voters this November. Will marvelously responded, “No, because he is an expert on snake oil.” “This is the man who said, if we pass the $767 billion stimulus bill, which it turns out costs $862 billion, a $95 million oops, we would have unemployment at 8 percent and no higher, and it went higher,” continued Will. “This is the man who last week was out saying, ‘I’m going to give $2 billion, about $2 billion, to two companies to create about 1,600 jobs.’ That’s $1.5 million per job. That is snake oil” (video follows with partial transcript and commentary:  JAKE TAPPER, HOST: I want to start with President Obama out on the campaign trail again this week trying to sharpen his message. Here’s a glimpse. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) OBAMA: They’re not coming back and saying, “You know what? We really screwed up, but we’ve learned our lesson, and now we’ve got this new approach, and this is how things are going to turn out really well.” That’s not their argument. They are trying to sell you the same stuff that they’ve been peddling. They are peddling that same snake oil that they’ve been peddling now for years. (END VIDEO CLIP) TAPPER: So the president, George, is trying to make this not a referendum on him, but rather a choice between him and Republicans. Is it going to work? WILL: No, because he is an expert on snake oil. This is the man who said, if we pass the $767 billion stimulus bill, which it turns out costs $862 billion, a $95 million oops, we would have unemployment at 8 percent and no higher, and it went higher. This is the man who, in another form of snake oil, said we have this wonderful idea of homeowner tax credits for buying first-time homeowners, which we now realize has largely subsidized home purchases that would have been made anyway. This is the man who last week was out saying, “I’m going to give $2 billion, about $2 billion, to two companies to create about 1,600 jobs.” That’s $1.5 million per job. That is snake oil. A bit later, Tapper asked the Washington Post’s Ruth Marcus, “Is the president doing the right thing here? Is this — is this the effective message to help at least lower the losses in November? Marcus surprisingly responded: Well, that presumes there’s any effective message. And the president says, look, these guys drove the car into the ditch. Why would you give the keys back to them? The only problem with that is, who’s been driving the car for the last 18 months and where are we? Quite shocking to hear that from the Obama-loving Marcus, wouldn’t you agree?
