Dina Lohan Swears Lindsay Turned Down Inferno, Calls Daughter a "Serious Actor"

Despite the fact that she got fired, Dina Lohan insists Lindsay Lohan turned down the lead role in Inferno , not the other way around. The reason? She didn’t want to play a porn star drug addict. The producers let her go given her scheduling conflicts (living in rehab indefinitely), but Dina swears it was her call. She just didn’t want the role! Wait, Lindsay Lohan didn’t want to play Linda Lovelace? She’s a natural! “The movie is about a drug addict and porn star. It is hard when you are a serious actor with what she has been through, we don’t need that,” Dina said. Yes, a very serious actor. I Know Who Killed Me? Award-winning stuff. “Lindsay was disappointed but felt it wasn’t right to take that role after what she had been through. She made the ultimate decision,” her mom swears . Although Lindsay won’t be starring as Linda, she will continue to follow her passion for acting and remain in the industry – but only in the right roles. “We are looking at scripts and she’s had a lot of offers. She has two in mind that she likes but we can’t say now what they are,” Dina Lohan teases. “We are doing all we can to take it slow right now.” All kidding aside, Lindsay is finally taking control of her life, taking sobriety seriously and making difficult choices to stay on the path to wellness. The way she turned down Dancing With the Stars was an example of that. She’s not in a rush to get back to work if she isn’t sure she can handle it. We applaud that kind of dedication. But spare us the act, Dina. We realize a movie featuring a coked-up Lindsay Lohan nude may not have been the best comeback project, but she got fired. It’s okay to admit it.

So You Think You Can Dance Recap: Emotional Robot Takeover

Yes, someone was eliminated during last night’s So You Think You Can Dance , but that hardly seemed relevant considering robots ate our feelings . Just before the three lowest vote-getters danced for their lives, viewers were treated to a performance by Remote Control, a whimsical droid trio spray-painted in macaroni-sculpture gold. During SYTYCD ‘s audition rounds, the smallest member of Remote Control (Bryan Gaynor) tried out, made the judges cry, but was ultimately rejected because he’s too small and has such severe scoliosis that partner dancing would be impossible. Like most robots, he earned his revenge. Watch his insane (and moving) performance, and read on to lament the contestant who didn’t make the Top 9.

Aaron Kelly and Michael Lynche Don’t Suck on American Idol

Due to a medical emergency involving Crystal Bowersox, the men were forced to switch nights with the ladies this week on American Idol . We guess we could chalk up the number of poor performances to this scheduling switch… if so many guys had not also been lackluster last Wednesday evening. While a handful of semifinalists stood out, we wouldn’t complain if any of the bottom half of contestants listed below got voted out. Here’s how we’d rank this week’s male contenders: Aaron Kelly : Granted, “My Girl” is a fun, easy song to sing for anyone with a good voice. But Aaron showed impressive range and confidence for a 16-year old. Michael Lynche : Might have to be known for more than his physique and personality know. Fantastic song choice with a James Brown classic. Casey James : The judges may say it’s a singing competition, but his electric guitar will help James go far. So will his looks. Lee DeWyze :We hate to agree with Kara, but it’s true: we could imagine Lee on the radio right this very instant. Andrew Garcia : That rendition of “Straight Up” is coming back to hurt him. No performance since has compared. Alex Lambert : We weren’t nearly as impressed as the judges. He may not have vomited before performing this week, but is that the standard we’re going by now? Todrick Hall : The best of the worst. We’ll give him points again for at least trying something different. John Park : Ellen said she likes his look. The guy wears a t-shirt and… is Asian? We’re not sure what Ellen means. Jermaine Sellers : Says he’ll stick around because “I know God.” Loved Simon’s response: Then there’s no need for anyone to call in for you, right? Tim Urban : Seems like a very nice guy. But simply isn’t a very good singer. Take your pick, vote our any of the final four and we’ll be happy. But we’d send Sellers and Urban packing. How about you? Below, we’ve posted performance photos of all 10 semifinalists. Click on each to enlarge and choose your favorite…
