Nicholas Sandmann who previously tried to paint himself as a peacemaker to NBC News and said he stood still simply to “diffuse the situation” sucked up some airtime on “The Today Show” Wednesday. Sandmann sat down with Savannah Guthrie and refuted claims that he’s an unangelic, ignorant, entitled, bra and instead he says he and his Cheeto approved friends were just minding their business when they became victims. He also denied that he was smirking—-even though we all have working eyes and can clearly see his smug facial expression. “People judged me based off one expression, which I wasn’t smirking,” Sandmann said to “Today. And they’ve gone from there to titling me and labeling me as a racist person.” “As far as standing there, I had every right to do so. I don’t – I – my position is that I was not disrespectful to Mr. Phillips,” Sandmann added. “I respect him. I’d like to talk to him. I mean – in hindsight I wish we could have walked away and avoided the whole thing.” In case you didn’t know, Nick’s been coached by RunSwitch, a PR firm run by a former adviser to Mitch McConnell and a current adviser to a Mitch McConnell super PAC. Leida Margaretha may have been the most hated cast member of her 90 Day Fiance season, which is quite the accomplishment. During the Tell All Part 2 , Leida’s conflict with Eric Rosenbrook’s daughter took center stage. But now her former sister-in-law has come forward to accuse Leida of a brutal violent attack. Leida Margaretha has a young son, Alessandro, from a previous relationship. Alessandro’s father is a man named Daniel, and Daniel’s sister is a woman named Amelia. (Amelia is still Alessandro’s aunt) She says that Leida’s toxic behavior began long, long before she ever became a reality star. Amelia went on social media and claimed that Leida attacked her when they were still sisters-in-law. And Leida was apparently being investigated by the police for this particular attack. To no one’s surprise, this apparently began with an argument between Leida and Daniel. After the bickering, Leida wanted Amelia to return with her to her parents’ house — but Amelia did not want to. “The next morning she was mad at me and destroy all me belongings,” Amelia says. She explains that Leida felt entitled to do so “because she thinks all my belongings is belong to her.” Amelia accuses Leida of stealing money from her and of threatening to ruin Daniel’s business, financed by her wealthy family, if they broke up. Beware, folks, because this is where the details turn violent. Amelia says that Leida has “anger issues” that drove her to track Amelia down when she was staying at her aunt’s house. She says that Leida arrived uninvited and was “screaming because I talk back to her.” Leida was allegedly “really mad” and “hit me and punch me in my face and my head at the same time.” Amelia also says that Leida kicked her during this encounter. She notes that, during the assault, Leida allegedly shouted “you should die!!” Obviously, a physical attack is the sort of thing where police get involved. Amelia says that she did press charges — initially. But Leida allegedly went to great lengths to “manipulate me to drop the case,” Amelia says. And, eventually, it worked. Amelia blames herself for dropping the charges, lamenting that she was “stupid and innocent.” There are a lot of violent, manipulative people in this world. It is never the victim’s fault. Amelia had much more to say about Leida, including accusing her of using expensive gifts to “blackmail” her own friends. At times, she would allegedly give someone a gift and then threaten to take it back if they displeased her. Amelia also says that Leida would surprise people with gifts, like a concert ticket to see Katy Perry, and later claim that the person begged for it. That also sounds nasty and toxic … and there’s more. Amelia says that Leida had very specifically banged on her door, screamed at her, and invaded her privacy over having a “messy room.” Does this sound familiar to anyone else? It should. Messiness was Leida’s exact issue with Eric’s teenage daughter, Tasha, whom she forced out of her own home. Leida’s own castmates were horrified and shocked by Leida’s treatment of Tasha. The only thing worse to them, some of whom are parents themselves, was the way that Eric seemed to accept Leida’s behavior. He admitted that he knew that Leida had called his own daughter a “bitch.” He didn’t seem to care. He also caved to Leida’s emotional blackmail and banned his own daughter from her apartment. As of the Tell All’s filming, he and Tasha have no relationship, and he sounds perfectly happy with that. Maybe he and Leida deserve each other. Eric has seen these accusations against Leida — taking aim at Soap Dirt for covering these same social media posts. He then tells them their business, insisting that they should hear both sides if they wish to be taken seriously. Our take is that Eric is the last person to lecture people on taking people seriously. Also, Soap Dirt and other outlets are just reporting Amelia’s accusations, the same as we are. As you’ve likely heard by now, Mike Sorrentino began his prison sentence earlier this week. Back in January of 2018, Sorrentino pled guilty to charges that he had failed to pay taxes on more than $9 million in earnings. Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months behind bars, and today, Radar Online has confirmed that his release date is scheduled for September 13 of this year. Of course, prison release dates are rarely set in stone, particularly when the inmate in question is a celebrity who seems to have truly dedicated himself to rehabilitation and self-improvement in the months prior to his sentence. Federal prison consultant Dan Wise confirms that The Sitch will likely be sprung well ahead of schedule. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be permitted to head straight home: “On such a short sentence of 8 months they will send him to a halfway house for two to three months at the end,” Wise claims . “Because of who he is, he may even get home confinement.” Yes, Mike is likely to serve a shorter sentence largely because he’s famous. That’s not to say that he’s receiving preferential treatment because of his celebrity status (although that could certainly be the case). The reasons why a parole board might prefer to grant Sorrentino an early release have more to do with the fact that celebrities are thought to be risky distractions by prison officials. If anything should happen to Mike, a lot of people who prefer to keep low profiles would suddenly find themselves making national headlines. Add that to the fact that Sorrentino’s sobriety and philanthropic work has been well-documented by MTV camera crews, and it’s not hard to see why Mike might be a prime candidate for early release. All he has to do now is keep is nose clean and serve his time quietly. According to Sorrentino’s wife, Lauren Pesce, that’s exactly what he’s been doing. Pesce tweeted an update to fans from Mike’s account earlier this week: “Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love & support,” she wrote. “We speak everyday & he’s doing great. He’s received thousands of letters, he won’t be able to respond to everyone but wanted to express his gratitude to each and every one of you,” Lauren added. “Thank you from the both of us; it is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time.” Here’s hoping Mike’s time on the inside is as brief and uneventful as possible. The Situation is making the best of an awful situation. According to Mrs. The Situation, that is. In the two days since Mike Sorrentino reported to prison – to begin an eight-month sentence after pleading guilty to tax evasion – the veteran Jersey Shore star has received an outpouring of support. So says his wife, Lauren, in a status update she provided for fans via Twitter. “Hi Everyone, it’s Lauren. Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love & support,” she wrote on this social media platform last night.” She continued as follows: “We speak everyday & he’s doing great. He’s received thousands of letters, he won’t be able to respond to everyone but wanted to express his gratitude. “To each and everyone of you. Thank you from the both of us; it is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time. Lots of Love, Michael & Lauren Sorrentino.” Sorrentino pleaded guilty to lying about millions of dollars in earnings last January. He was then sentenced to the aforementioned stint behind bars in October and reported to the clink this week. Throughout this ordeal, the MTV personality has not made any excuses for his behavior or really looked for sympathy at all from fans. He’s just trying to do his time at Otisville Federal Correctional Institution and move forward. It helps, of course, to have Lauren by his side — even if can’t give her any of his man meat during any conjugal visits . The newlyweds got married in November and she has remaiined nothing but positive and helpful while her husband deals with repaying society for his crime. After he completes the eight months, Sorrentino will have two years of supervised release and 500 hours of community service. This is in addition to a $10,000 fine and $123,000 in restitution, which he has already paid. Sorrentino and his brother, Marc, were each indicted way back in September of 2014 for tax offenses and conspiring to defraud the United States. They were accused at that time of failing to properly pay taxes on $8.9 million in income from 2010 to 2012. In April of 2017, the siblings were then indicted on additional charges including tax evasion, structuring and falsifying records. Mike pled guilty to one count of tax evasion early last year, while Marc pled guilty to one count of aiding in the preparation of a false and fraudulent tax return. Last week, prior to becoming a ward of the state, Sorrentino gave a sweet shout-out to his wife on Instagram in celebration of her birthday, writing: Happy Birthday to my wife, my love, My Laurens. You are beautiful inside & out and I’m very grateful to have you in my life. You make me a better person and I promise to make you proud to call yourself Mrs. Sorrentino. Happy Birthday. The Super Bowl Half time show controversy continues to roll on. Some of our favorite artists turned down the prestigious performance. People like Cardi B and Rihanna turned it down to stand in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. When news broke that Travis Scott was on board to join Maroon 5 the hip hop community clapped back quickly. Early reports said that Travis and Colin had a conversation and Kaepernick “Okayed” the performance. It was easy to assume that was part of his plan because Travis made the NFL agree to donate $500,000 to a social justice organization. Well friends close to the Ex NFL players are setting the record straight about the conversation between Travis and Colin. Reports are saying that the timeline tells a better story of what happened. TMZ is reporting that Travis received the offer from the NFL and before he accepted he and Colin jumped on a call about the situation. Sources close to both of them said that the conversation was cordial but they agreed to disagree. Colin urged Travis not to perform at the Super Bowl but Travis ultimately made the decision to opt with performing. Once outlets begin to report that they had a conversation and Colin gave Travis is blessing, his girlfriend and radio personality Nessa SHUT THAT DOWN! Well, that didn't take long, Teen Mom 2 Season 9 premiered on MTV last night, and in her first episode on the show, Lauren Comeau quickly ran afoul of Kailyn Lowry. On Twitter, a debate raged among fans as the episode aired. Is Lauren to blame for Kail's ill will? Did shew ever stand a chance, or had Kail already made up her mind about Lauren before she knew anything about her? Well, Lauren is keeping mum on the issue, but Javi Marroquin and Kail both have quite a bit to say. Take a look: 1. No Emotions On Monday’s season premiere, Kail revealed that she “felt nothing” upon learning her ex-husband had gotten engaged to Lauren Comeau. 2. Downhill Fast The situation quickly deteriorated, however, as Kail caught wind of some unkind words from Lauren. 3. The “T” Word According to Kail, Lauren repeatedly called her a “tw-t” in a lengthy text to Javi which she discovered during her pseudo-reconciliation with Marroquin back in 2017. 4. Strong Feelings “I don’t want to be around her good terms, bad terms — you don’t exist to me!” Kail told one of the show’s producers during last night’s episode. 5. Lauren’s Side Lauren feels quite differently about the situation and was actually quite eager to meet Kail. 6. As soon as Kevin Hart stepped down from hosting the Oscars and that’s left the question…Who’s going to host. If you’ve been living under a rock then you missed that Kevin Hart was set to host this year’s Oscars but some homophobic tweets resurfaced and that caused him to step down because he refused to address the tweets…AGAIN. The comedian said that he addressed the tweets in the past and the academy gave him an ultimatum to apologize or they would choose someone else to host. Kevin chose to step down from the position after saying that he’s apologized several time for the tweets. The irony of the entire situation is that Kevin stood on the idea that he wouldn’t continue to address the situation but he has recently gone on a press tour to discuss the Oscar’s controversy. Alas he says after this he will not address the situation anymore. Here’s a look at his Good Morning America interview addressing the situation: Kevin went on to say that ultimately he’s not opposed to hosting the Oscars in the future and there are no hard feelings between him and the academy. He says he’s currently too busy to hosts the Oscars at this point. According to multiple sources the Oscars will have several celebrities introduce segments instead of one main host. Kelly dominated the news and social media conversation this past weekend and a LOT of bozos, losers, apologists, and ashy types out to cape for Robert and shame the victims. Well, let it be known that airing out Robert’s disgusting decades of behavior wasn’t in vain. Not in the least bit. According to TMZ, Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has opened an investigation into sexual abuse claims made by one of the women who managed to escape R. Kelly’s clutches. Sources close to the situation say this new look into R. Kelly’s alleged crimes is directly influenced by doc. Police are reaching out to numerous women who have horror stories about the R&B singer and it is confirmed that they have already spoken to escaped Kelly’ victim Asante McGee. Joceyln Savage’s family is also cooperating with the police. It is said that after Surviving aired, detectives received an overwhelming amount of phone calls with pertinent information. We hope to GOD that something comes of this.
