Turning Tide: New Poll Shows That 54% Of Americans Are Totally Down With Donald Trump’s Impeachment

Source: Win McNamee / Getty New Poll Shows Increased American Support For Trump Impeachment Donald Trump felt that his sycophants would hold him down in under any circumstances as he now infamously quipped that he could “shoot somebody on 5th avenue” and still have the support of his basket of deplorables. However, that appears to be changing somewhat if you listen to the pollsters. According to DailyMail , a new Pew poll shows that 54% of Americans fully approve of the impeachment proceedings against Donald. About 10% of the people who previously opposed impeachment last month are now in favor of Congressional action. The new survey by Pew Research Center polled 3,487 adults and found that most of those who had opposed opening impeachment proceedings and now approve are Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (61 per cent) and roughly a third (32 per cent) are Republicans. These stats come on the heels of another poll that showed that 52% of Americans are down for his removal from office. Between these new poll numbers and the ongoing geo-political debacle involving Turkey and Syria, it feels like Don’s presidency is going to go down in a ball of flames.

Source: Owen Franken / Getty Various online daters were the victims of a stone cold scammer who pocketed $2.1 million. According to USA Today , a New Jersey man named Rubbin Sarpong allegedly conspired to scam more than 30 people out of money using false U.S. military identities. He appeared in Camden federal court last Wednesday on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, according to U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito.  Court documents say that from January 2016 to September 2019, Sarpong and several co-conspirators — many who live in Ghana — reportedly started dating profiles on a number of sites using fake or stolen identities. They posed as U.S. military personnel stationed overseas who needed non-existent gold bars shipped to a U.S. location. Their story explained that military personnel in Syria were awarded in gold bars. “They contacted victims through the dating websites and then pretended to strike up a romantic relationship with them, wooing them with words of love,” reads the criminal complaint. In order to ship the nonexistent gold bars, the conspirators asked their newly wooed lovers for money and they explained that they would reimburse the victims once the gold bars arrived in the U.S. In one instance, a conspirator insisted that he was a U.S. soldier stationed in Syria who had secured bars worth $12 million and needed assistance bringing them over. He sent a woman a false airway bill showing that two trunks with “family treasure” would be sent to her. He included a fake United Nations Identity Card that identified him as a UN delivery agent and an Israeli citizen. The woman wired him more than $93,000 and they had plans to rendezvous at the Baltimore/Washington International Airport on June 13, 2018. The following day, she died by suicide. Investigators say that Sarpong and his accomplices used various email accounts and Voice Over Internet protocol phone numbers to communicate with victims and tell them where to wire money. Every now and then, victims would also send money via personal and cashier’s checks. After payments were received, the funds were withdrawn in cash, wired to other domestic bank accounts and wired to conspirators in Ghana. The ultimate scam. Sarpong was even bold enough to flaunt his earnings on social media, according to authorities. He was found posting picture of himself with large wads of cash, high-end cars and expensive jewelry. At one point in March 2017, he even posted a photo of himself lounging in a car with a stack of money up to his ear like a cellphone with the caption that read “WakeUp With 100k… One Time. Making A phone Call To Let My Bank Know Am Coming.” He also posted a photo of himself with an unidentified male back in December 2018, writing “BigBusiness Done…Now We Waiting For The Checks To Clear,” according to authorities. Sarpong reportedly received $823,386 throughout the whole scheme. Now, he faces a $250,000 fine and up to 20 years in prison, according to Carpenito.

To be honest, we were so sad that the New Edition Story is over and want to hang on to the feeling of love and pride we experienced for the past three nights watching the group’s story on BET. So in an effort to hold on just a bit longer, here is a bit of behind the scenes information about what we’ve seen for the past few days. [ madamenoire ] Here’s Why We Shouldn’t Be So Worried About The Wall Trump Proposes Across Mexico’s Border Each day disturbing news breaks out over President Trump and his determination to put provisions in place against immigration, planned parenthood, healthcare, and the environment (hence, the Dakota/Keystone pipelines), and it’s only the first week of his presidency. Just yesterday, Trump’s plans to implement a wall to prevent illegal immigration shocked many Americans, as the divisive rhetoric spewed during election season became a reality. According to the NewYork Times, Trump’s “crackdown” on illegal immigration begins with the immediate construction of a wall across the borders of Mexico and a significant decrease in legal immigration from countries where Islam is most prevalent. Refugees from Syria will also be barred from entering the United States — a complete opposite of the diplomatic and bipartisan sanctions put in place during the Obama administration. What makes matters worse is Trump plans to fund the wall on the backing of American citizens (i.e. tax increases) and then be reimbursed by the Mexican government. As this should come as no surprise, even the President of Mexico has rejected this proposal. [ madamenoire ] Drake Reportedly Eyeing The Late Night Talk Show Circuit Legendary University of Kentucky coach John Calipari invited Drake to his new podcast for a chat that ranged between basketball, the entertainment world, and other various topics. But it was Drizzy’s mention of plans to enter the late night talk show foray that was most interesting. Coach Calipari’s Cal Cast podcast on Thursday (Jan. 26) and the bro-love fest was at its highest levels. However, the listen was refreshing to hear the Canadian superstar speak from a deep place of humility. The OVO boss spoke of his influences, such as Aaliyah, and shifted gears to discuss plans of some alternative career plans. He discussed his upcoming playlist project with Apple which will serve as a body of work that will, in his words, “bridge the gap” between his major releases in lieu of a mixtape. Beyond music, Drake envisions himself in the vein of a talk show host like Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert. He’s already proven he’s got the acting and comedic timing chops during stints on SNL and he’s going to be hosting this year’s NBA Awards according to reports. Real Housewives of ISIS Sketch Draws Outrage Online

The stars of Bravo's Real Housewives franchise may not be the most likable group of ladies, but they could certainly be a lot worse. For example, they could be terrorist sympathizers who defect to Syria in order to marry members of ISIS. Sound unlikely? Well it absolutely is – but it's also the premise for a comedy sketch that's drawing mixed responses on social media today. Titled, of course, The Real Housewives of ISIS, the sketch aired on a BBC series called Revolting, and many believe the show fully lived up to its name. Pundits have blasted the sketch as “distasteful,” and with lines like the following, it's not hard to see how it might have rubbed some folks the wrong way: “Only three days to the beheading, and I've no idea what I'm going to wear.” “This is my sixth marriage. I've been widowed five times. [bomb explodes off-camera] Six times.” And – about a character showing off her stylish suicide vest: “She looked massive. You're gonna need a lot of Semtex to kill that one.” The outrage on social media was immediate: “All the fun of an off-base Amy Schumer skit with the same lack of awareness of anything other than itself,” commented one viewer. “Only  funny if you look down on someone else and enjoy seeing them unhappy because they are not white and Christian,” wrote another. Others defended the sketch as a shot at deserving target. “If you can mock something, you’re not scared of it,” posted one person. “ISIS want to be feared. Don’t give them that. Aleppo Residents Record Mass Slaughter in Real Time, Tweet Goodbye

With the Syrian army closing in this week on rebel-held areas in Aleppo, thousands of civilians in this war-torn city have been trapped in small pockets of opposition territory. By some estimates, 50,000 residents are essentially waiting to either be killed or taken hostage, sitting helplessly in a one-square mile radius of town. A UN spokesman has referred to the horrific situation as a “complete meltdown of humanity.” Earlier this month, a seven-year old girl named  Bana Alabed made global headlines when she posted multiple messages on social media that implied she and her mother were about to be captured. Alabed and her mom, Fatemah – who have been tweeting the horrors from East Aleppo since September – appear to have avoided said capture… … but they now fear as if their days on Earth are numbered. Tweeted Fatemah on Monday: She has since written the following, posted about seven hours ago: “Dear world, there’s intense bombing right now. Why are you silent? Why? Why? Why? Fear is killing me & my kids.” Here is a photo of Bana Alabed: Fatemah is far from the only Aleppo resident recording this mass slaughter in real time. As events continue to unfold in the area and the death toll continues to mount, those trapped in the city are screaming at the world over social media, saying goodbye forever; wondering why no one is helping them; or both. “This may be my last video. More than 50,000 civilians who rebelled against the dictator [Syrian President Bashar] al-Assad are threatened with field executions or are dying under bombing,” Lina Shamy, an activist in eastern Aleppo, said in a video shared on Twitter. Calls for a ceasefire by the United Nations have been ignored by Syria and Russia, who is aiding the government with an intensive air campaign. Officials from these nations have vowed to continue the offensive until the rebels surrender or die. Elsewhere, a teacher and father (who tweets under the handle @Mr.Alhamdo) wrote on Tuesday afternoon of his simple desire to see his young daughter taste a banana for the first time. He now doubts this will ever happen. “I just wanted to make my daughter taste the banana,” he Tweeted. “She likes such food. She hasn’t tasted it yet. I might not be able to do that.” There are no words to express how we feel about the situation in Aleppo. It’s heartbreaking. It’s surreal. It’s the very worst of humanity. We can only offer our thoughts and prayers to all involved.

Lindsay Lohan: Goes TOPLESS in Racy Deleted Photo

Lindsay Lohan decided to go topless on Instagram just two days after Donald Trump said he wanted to bone her (which has nothing to do with Ken Bone; sorry).  Lohan shared the pic on her social media account, and just hours later, had a brief thought of remorse and removed it.  She replaced the pic with a photo of a club performance, where a woman with Kylie’s old turquoise ‘do commanded the stage.  Lohan captioned the replacement pic, “#LOHAN #GHOSTBUSTERSTYLE #MINTANINE I would love to host one night with @KylieJenner.”   While we have zero idea what she’s talking aobut in this pic – and might’ve been better off hashtagging it #SuckItTrump, we’re gonna give her a pass on this one, since she apparently doesn’t realize that Kylie’s high, turquoise ponytail is, like, so over.  Not the fetch-est, girl.  The photo was to support the grand opening of the Lohan nightclub (LOL FOREVER) in Greece, helmed by businessman and unconfirmed boyfriend, Dennis Papageorgi.  So there you have it.  Lindsay Lohan has a night club named after her – of which she’ll pocket some of the proceeds – but she’s busy helping refugee children out in poverty- and famine-stricken lands.  Is there nothing our girl LL can’t do?  Nah, probably not. When you have all the time in the world on your hands to do … well, whatever it is that you want … it’s easy to be a Jill-of-all-trades and slap your name on whatever business venture you see fit.  Most notable about the deleted pic, perhaps, is the fact that she’s still wearing the emerald engagement ring from abusive ex, Egor Tarabasov.  Though she’s still “allowed” to keep it, she’s either really, really savvy for flaunting the rock, or really, really pathetic for hanging onto a memento of a relationship in which your partner tried to “murder” you .  If we were you, girl, we’d hock it – you don’t want what happened with Kim K’s robbery to happen to you, do you?  You’re smarter than that – and though we don’t always understand the workings of your mind, friend, we’re gonna support you as long as you avoid doing dumb s–t.   Which has to happen sooner or later, right?  View Slideshow: 29 Wackest Photos of Lindsay Lohan
