Selena Gomez never wanted to be a role model. However, the 18-year-old actress and singer has learned to embrace it anyway, she says in the upcoming E! Entertainment Special: Selena Gomez . “I’m human, I’m not perfect,” Gomez admits . “I make mistakes all the time, but I guess my job is to keep those mistakes to myself, which I’m already fine doing and just try to be the best I can be for those kids.” Being a role model isn’t easy when you’re still growing up yourself . “I never really said I want to be a role model. But when it happened I was so down for it,” Gomez admits, having just been hospitalized due to malnourishment and exhaustion, which led to her mom telling her to slow down . She’s doing better now, but it’s an ongoing battle. While the Texas-born beauty has enjoyed much success at a young age, she didn’t have an easy childhood and struggled with her parents’ divorce. Gomez’s high-profile romance with Justin Bieber has made headlines, making it tough to stay comfortable in the spotlight and manage her fame. “This is a very superficial job,” Gomez says. “I sit in a chair for two hours and get hair and makeup done and talk about [myself] in interviews.” “That’s a very vain thing to do. I do get caught up in it sometimes.” Give her credit for recognizing the pitfalls of celebrity at such a young age and trying to keep life in perspective as well as a teenager possibly can. Justin was the perfect gentleman and insisted on paying for the 18-year-old Disney star’s tasty treat. An onlooker revealed: “Selena ordered a kid’s chocolate ice cream in a sugar cone. She tried to pay with her credit card, but Justin took it out of her hand and gave his card instead. “Justin didn’t order anything. They were really quiet. After nearly three months of inpatient treatment, Demi Lovato is finally heading home. A source close to the 18-year-old Disney star tells Celebuzz that she has completed her required treatment and will be moved to an outpatient treatment program. “Demi came back to LA earlier this week,” the source tells Celebuzz. “She completed her prescribed treatment and an outpatient program near the treatment facility.” The source says that Demi will “focus first and foremost on her well-being” but that she will “continue to see doctors in LA who will help her work on the issues she confronted in treatment.” “She is so grateful to all of her fans for their unbelievable support,” says the source, “and looks forward to being able to talk to all of them very soon.” ( Continue Reading )

Keeping things within the family, the fast food joint is currently co-owned by the rapper’s cousin Jamar White. “Yes, it’s all true,” White told MTV News confirming the news. “Jay supports us in all we do, that’s my big cousin right there.” The eatery does more than dole out saucy wings, fries, salads and soft drinks. According to TMZ , Jay-Z and Buffalo Boss recently teamed up to reward exceptional students at a nearby middle school with free eats. (However, a glance at the Buffalo Boss menu doesn’t exactly bode well for children and adults looking for healthy options.) All good stuff, no doubt, but what many of you really want to know about his first major role outside the “Twilight” franchise is one thing: Just how much shirt-free, ab-proud time is the 18-year-old going to have onscreen? Hate to dash dreams, but — despite those tantalizing set pics that popped up on the Web last summer — the answer is: not much at all. “It’s not about that!” co-star Lily Collins laughed in a recent interview. “It’s about his acting skills in this one. I feel everyone is going to be surprised to see how much he’s grown. This movie is not about that aspect of him. It’s very, very, very minimal. He brings so much more than that. I feel people are going to be blown away.” Collins — who MTV News tapped as one of our 11 for ’11 and who, like Lautner, is about take on a wildly popular book franchise as the star of the “Mortal Instruments” series — told us she learned a ton from watching how the “Twilight” star interacted with his fans during the “Abduction” shoot. “I would watch the way he deals with his fans. It’s incredible,” she told us. “We’d be shooting at nights where we finish at 7 in the morning, and one night, we had 600 fans in the middle of nowhere in Pittsburgh waiting outside, and it was probably almost 5 in the morning, and he went out and signed every single autograph.
