Stephen Maturen/Getty Images Shameful… Officer Jeronimo Yanez To Receive $48,500 Clearly, it pays to kill an unarmed black man. Jeronimo Yanez , the Minnesota officer who fatally shot Philando Castile is getting a fat paycheck. NBC reports that the department that employed him at the time of the shooting agreed to pay him $48,500 in a separation agreement announced Monday. The money will be paid in a lump sum, minus applicable deductions and withholdings for state and federal taxes. Additionally, he’ll get up to 600 hours of accrued and unused personal leave pay. “Since Officer Yanez was not convicted of a crime, as a public employee, he would have appeal and grievance rights if terminated,” said his former department in a statement according to NBC. “A reasonable voluntary separation agreement brings to a close one part of this horrible tragedy. The City concluded this was the most thoughtful way to move forward and help the community-wide healing process proceed.” While it’s obvious that this killer cop shouldn’t be employed anymore, it must be niiiice to get nearly $50K after committing murder. What do YOU think about Officer Jeronimo Yanez getting $48,500 after the Philando Castile shooting???
The Real Housewives of Orange County are back. We have a RHOC episode recap if you missed it, but what we really want to talk about is one particular, musical aspect of the rivalry between Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge. Because the former friends don’t just quarrel on the show — there’s an actual song bashing Tamra. And Vicki has it … and it got worse for Tamra from there. So, a rap song that insults Tamra Judge played on the season premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County . That premiere was last night, folks. And, apparently Tamra didn’t even know about it in advance. “Tamra had no idea it was going to be on the show, and now she’s freaking out.” Amazing to think that nobody in production thought to warn her. This is such a big deal because the song isn’t exactly available online. Like, if it were just floating around the interwebs, we’d be happy to make sure that everyone heard it. But it’s basically scrubbed. Except that Vicki got a hold of it, because of course she did, and she played a bit of it. The song, “Lie Lie Lie,” doesn’t just make a rude reference to Tamra. It’s a full-on diss track. And there’s some collateral damage. Cory Larrabee created it, and it seems that he has some interesting ideas about Tamra and her husband, Eddie. “She found another man he was a gay sex slave.” Well, we can’t speak to Eddie’s sexual orientation . But that sounds more than a little far-fetched, right? “She got him out of debt in exchange for a wedding day.” That is a very inventive story. It sounds like the backstory for a great episode of, like, a police procedural or something. But, even if Eddie sets off some people’s gaydar … it doesn’t sound like a likely story. You can see how it would get under Tamra’s skin, though. Especially since the next set of lines might hit a little closer to home. “Once upon a time there was a dumb hoe.” That’s sure a creative way to begin, but continue. “She snapped a dirty pic and sent it from her phone.” Now those lyrics are especially damning. Because, as you may recall, Tamra Judge is accused of distributing pics of Vicki Gunvalson’s boobs . These are grown, adult women, but yeah. Like, this is a little more ambiguous than Rob Kardashian posting revenge porn of Blac Chyna . Because, first of all, it’s merely alleged that Tamra shared topless photos of Vicki. And these weren’t photos exchanged between friends or intimate partners. Vicki was showing her breasts in front of cameras, to a costars husband over FaceTime. (Isn’t technology amazing?) Though Tamra is accused of sending them to a 15-year-old, somehow, so maybe she doesn’t quite have the moral high ground. Allegedly . Tamra Judge doesn’t care about haters , supposedly. Everybody wants people to think that they don’t care, but most people, deep down, do. They can’t help it. That has to hurt. Especially since Vicki Gunvalson is the queen bee of The Real Housewives of Orange County anyway. Playing that song seemed like kicking Tamra while she’s down, you know? Or maybe punishing her for returning for yet another season. Maybe this is setting the stage and, during the course of this season, Lydia will repair the relationship between these two. But if Vicki and Tamra were back to being friends by the time that this aired, surely Vicki would have warned her that the diss track would play on air!
Yesterday, Farrah Abraham’s smarmy ex, Simon Saran confirmed that he’s done with Farrah and quitting the show that made him famous. Yes, fans of Teen Mom: OG , we regret to report that the upcoming Being Simon special that’s somehow a thing is the last you’ll see of Mr. Saran on screen. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to continue enjoying his always-amusing social media feuds. It looks as though Simon’s beef with Amber Portwood has come to an end, but these days, he’s turned his attention to a much more deserving target. Yes, now that his time on the show has reached it’s conclusion, Simon is squaring off against the Teen Mom end boss. We’re talking, of course, about Farrah herself. Unlike all of his other feuds, it doesn’t look like Simon started this one. But he’s certainly hell-bent on having the last word. “FYI Simon is not in my life and really is hurt I’ve moved on,” Farrah tweeted , possibly in response to yesterday’s interviews. “Free ride is over! Stop talking about me if you’re over me lmao,” she added. Demonstrating the dearth of wit for which he’s become semi-famous, Saran shot back: “Worst free ride ever!” As online comebacks go, it’s about the equivalent of a schoolyard “I know you are, but what am I?” but it was enough to get Farrah’s goat. “Why are you trying to get attention, you’re pathetic & I’m a great mother, professional, friend & women. Go STOP using me for money.” “What money?” Simon replied, prompting Farrah to call him “jealous” and accuse him of “stalking” her dates. As you can see, this is some extremely high-minded Lincoln-Douglas debate stuff. Farrah offered the above screen shot as proof that Simon is still texting her: “Simon you wanna lie this is you just texting me,” she captioned the image. “Get a life – no one wants your nasty low life style. Your hateful, user, fame whore.” She added: “Thanks 2 me you got your own ‘Being Simon’ special. Simon wants to be on TV so much! F–king joke! Be thankful not hateful.” As a parting shot, she retweeted a fan who wrote: View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham: A Ridiculous, Sometimes X-Rated Life in GIFs “@F1abraham you and simon were in trouble when his tits got bigger then yours.” Keep it classy, you two! About a year ago, Audrey Roloff stirred up a bit of controversy by doling out advice to fellow married folks. First, she compared marriage to war , saying husbands and wives enter a “battlefield” on a regular basis. In a semi-rambling blog post, the Little People, Big World star asked the following: “What are you doing to protect your marriage against the dangers of, porn, workaholism, worry, pride, stress, fear, loss, addiction, comparison, social media, emotional cheating, that girl at the gym, in-laws, hormones, or idolizing your kids?” Roloff got a lot of pushback for her comments, which she followed up suggesting that married couples she often recite their vows to each other. In bed. During sex. “I’ll spare you the details, but it was the most intimate thing we have ever done in our marriage,” Roloff wrote at the time . “And probably the most intimate thing I have ever done in my life.” Roloff also received some Internet side-eye for this recommendation. Therefore, perhaps sick of getting flak for what she has to say to other wives and their husband, Audrey has shifted her focus. In her latest Instagram post, the reality star has directed her attention to single ladies around the world. This is her Beyonce moment, people! “To all the single girls out there… wait for the kind of man who wants to sit and talk with you by a campfire more than he wants to sit by you watching Netflix on a couch,” Roloff writes, expanding on this theme as follows: “Wait for a man who comes to your door when he picks you up instead of just texting, ‘I’m here.’ “Wait for a man who is more dedicated to pursuing Jesus than he is to pursuing his career ambitions. “Wait for a man who wants to get to know your friends and family instead of always insisting on hanging out alone. “Wait for a man who you’d want to be the father of your children instead of a man who’s still acting like a child.” Audrey has clearly found a man that fits these qualifications. She has been gushing over Jeremy Roloff for many weeks and months now, especially in light of the couple expecting its first child this September. “I know it may seem harsh, but I say these things to encourage you and give you hope,” Roloff said, seemingly aware that she may be inviting more criticism with these words of advice. She concludes with a message of hope: “That kind of man is out there. Don’t believe the big fat lie that tells you, “Oh I’ll never find someone like that.” Jeremy is not an exception. “Men like this DO exist. Pray for him and wait for him.” Audrey added the hashtag “#beating50percent” to her post, which is a reference to the fact that one-half of all marriages in the U.S. end in divorce. She and Jeremy are beating those odds at the moment. And soon they’ll be changing diapers! View Slideshow: Audrey Roloff Baby Bump Pics: Look at It Grow! The TLC stars started dating in 2011, got married in 2014 and will become parents this fall. As you can see above, Audrey has been keeping social media followers well apprised of her baby bump status on Instagram, while the cable network is expected to air new episodes of Little People, Big World in a few months. It’s very safe to assume that Audrey’s pregnancy and delivery will be a central storyline when the popular series returns.
Jewish Group Outraged At Jay-Z’s Anti-Semitic Lyrics The Anti-Defamation League, an organization that supposedly keeps its eye on bigotry and racism in the United States and abroad, has publicly stated that it has a problem with a line from “The Story of O.J.” on Jay-Z’s new album . In case you’re unfamiliar with the track, check it out: Apparently, Jay’s mention that Jewish people are shrewd investors and property owners read as offensive rather than informative. ‘You wanna know what’s more important than throwin’ away money at a strip club? Credit/ You ever wonder why Jewish people own all the property in America? This how they did it.’ The organization believes that Jay’s bars feed into long-standing stereotypes that, while positive in connotation, feed into bigotry. Think “Asians are great at math,” or “Black people run really fast.” As a rep shared with Rolling Stone : “The idea that Jews ‘own all the property’ in this country and have used credit to financially get ahead are odious and false. Yet, such notions have lingered in society for decades, and we are concerned that this lyric could feed into preconceived notions about Jews and alleged Jewish ‘control’ of the banks and finance.” However, the ADL doesn’t think Jay-Z necessarily meant to say something so stereotypical. “We do not believe it was Jay-Z’s intent to promote anti-Semitism. On the contrary, we know that Jay-Z is someone who has used his celebrity in the past to speak out responsibly and forcefully against the evils of racism and anti-Semitism. [But] the lyric does seem to play into deep-seated anti-Semitic stereotypes about Jews and money.” All well and good, we guess. But the ADL seems to be missing the fact that the song AIN’T ABOUT JEWISH FOLKS! It’s rapped out advice and observations specifically for us. Either way, we doubt Jay plans to back down from a single thing he said on the track. What do you think? Is the ADL within their rights with this one, or do they need to chill and let Hov rock while trying to give us a million dollars worth of game for $9.99? Getty
Migos Kicked Off Delta Flight Does it look like Migos got left off their flight from ATL to Iowa? It should. Because they definitely did. We all know how these airlines get down , after all… TMZ reports that Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff got booted from their flight. Now, the reason why is where Migos’ management and Delta staff seem to differ. Here’s the aftermath: Migos’ people claim that the three amigos were all in first class, tired as hell from being trap stars all day, and instantly fell asleep once they boarded. Apparently, Takeoff’s backpack was on the floor in front of him instead of in the overhead compartment — which is against the rules (we’re assuming they were in row 1, without the under-seat storage). The flight attendant told him to put it up. However, since he was asleep at the time, he didn’t hear her instruction and thus didn’t comply. However, Delta claims that neither Takeoff, nor Offset, nor Quavo managed to be cooperative. They claim that not only was the backpack in the wrong place, but they didn’t buckle their seatbelts in a timely enough fashion. As a result, the flight crew decided to return the flight to the gate and kick Migos off. They were placed on another flight, on which we assume they made sure to buckle up the minute they sat down. The group’s manager says it was a clear case of racial profiling. After hearing and seeing what went down…what do you think? Do you think the flight crew was just being extra — as they are often known to do — or did Migos get into full YRN mode and act above the jetway laws? TMZ/WENN/Getty
Tiger Woods was arrested on DUI charges last month after police in Jupiter, Florida noticed the famous golfer was driving in bizarre fashion. In the aftermath, it was revealed that Woods was not drunk. Instead, he was under the influence of a cocktail of prescription drugs. The issue at hand was put down to back surgery the 41-year-old had, and he allegedly took a bad reaction to the painkillers prescribed to him by doctors at the time. Tiger recognized that he did need some help in a statement shortly after the incident. “I’m currently receiving professional help to manage my medications and the ways that I deal with back pain and a sleep disorder,” Woods said at the time. “I want to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of support and understanding especially the fans and players on tour.” While this proved Tiger showed he was remorseful for what went down, not everyone felt like he was taking the treatment seriously. He was spotted out and about with his kids, presumably meaning he was not in an in-patient facility. Some felt that he was using the treatment as a tactic to get a lighter sentence. On top of that, the treatment has now been completed, with Tiger taking to Twitter to let his followers know this was not something he was just going to brush under the rug. “I recently completed an out of state private intensive program,” he said in the statement. “I will continue to tackle this going forward with my doctors, family, and friends. I am so very thankful for all the support I’ve received.” With the treatment over, Woods is scheduled to appear in court on July 8. We’re unsure what the court date will hold for the gold legend, but we’ll have more clarity in the coming days. What do you think of all of this? Sound off below!
