Chris Brown has countersued a man who has accused the R&B star and his entourage of attacking him at a recording studio earlier this year. The singer filed an assault and battery lawsuit against Sha’keir Duarte, who claimed in an earlier suit that he was injured when a fight involving Brown. The melee erupted between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean ‘s entourages back in January outside a West Hollywood studio. No charges were filed. Duarte’s lawsuit filed in August accused Brown of being the aggressor in the fight, during which a gay slur was allegedly hurled at the bisexual Ocean. Brown’s countersuit, however, claims Duarte instigated the brouhaha by pushing, kicking and punching the R&B singer and threatening to kill him. Brown’s lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, while Duarte’s attorney Joseph Porter III did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment. Chris is currently in rehab for anger management , following his most recent arrest at a D.C. hotel, where he was charged with misdemeanor assault. The school nurse just loves ya… like a fat kid loves cake! California schools are taking early steps to keep kids from continuing to eat like chunky monkeys . Via NY Daily News reports : In an effort to combat childhood obesity, schools in California have begun sending out what have been dubbed “fat letters” to the parents of overweight children. After checking the weight of preschoolers in the San Fernando valley, registered dietician Lauren Schmitt is tasked with contacting the families of children who have already begun losing the battle of the bulge. “We look at growth charts and percentiles. And when a child is at 95 percent of their…we can look at weight for age or weight for height…that child would be considered obese,” Schmitt told KNX News. There is no shortage of kids in the LA area whose parents end up receiving a “fat letter.” Of the 900 children between the ages of two and five that she evaluates, Schmitt says approximately 200 qualify as obese. “We let the parents know in a gentle fashion, but we also send out a ton of handouts to try to help that family,” Schmitt said. California is not the only state to send “fat letters” to parents. Similar obesity information is sent in 19 other states. “It shouldn’t be a stigma. It’s not a way to categorize someone. It’s just showing that this child has increased risk to be obese as an adult, which then could lead to quite a few chronic diseases,” said Schmitt. A report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released last month found that childhood obesity rates edged down slightly last year, falling in 18 states. These kids are ages 2-5!!! True to her word, Lady Gaga has sent along a package of gifts to Daniel Borowy, a teen shot on the first day of school at Baltimore-area Perry Hall High School. Yes, sadly, school shootings are a relatively commonplace thing. This one took place before the now-infamous Newtown, Connecticut school shooting . After the Perry Hall shooting, a grass-roots campaign attempted to catch Gaga’s attention, which hopes that the star would visit Borowy in the hospital. Though a visit wasn’t to be, insiders reported that the pop star’s camp had promised to get at least something from her to him. And it happened. Borowy’s father, Milton, posted about the special care package that arrived from Team Gaga on the “Lady Gaga Please Visit Daniel” Facebook page: “I would like to start by thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Daniel,” he said. “I was waiting for an appropriate time to share this and feel that we need some good news!
