Word On The Streetz izzzz….Braxton Family Values Season Premiere is tonight! Towanda Braxton sat down with The Kingdom Crew’s Emperor Searcy and Mz Shyneka to…
Towanda set the record straight , once and for all. This season of “Braxton Family Values” has been markedly different for Towanda Braxton, who came across fairly level headed and generous on the show, even while wrestling with marital issues and the sibling rivalry that the Braxton ladies are known for. But this time around she’s shown a different side, even drawing some criticism recently after she responded to Twitter ribbing from Tamar fans by pointing out her brother-in-law Vince’s rumored financial problems . She’s also been under the microscope for keeping company with Kordell Stewart , whose acrimonious divorce from “Real Housewives of Atlanta’s” Porsha Williams has made him a tabloid regular. With the finale of “Braxton Family Values” airing Thursday, Towanda sat down exclusively with BOSSIP to set the record straight. BOSSIP: With the third season ending tonight, would you say the show brought you closer or caused more problems? Towanda Braxton: It allowed us not to sweep things under the rug anymore. It allowed us to look at the real situations and actually deal with them. Quite often in families, not just African-American families either, we tend to sweep things under the rug like “We’ll deal with it later.” But not now. Now we have to deal with them. How are things with you and Tamar now? We’re good. I absolutely love my sister even though there are moments of us not getting along. I think everyone has a season of not getting along, and it just so happened this was our season. Last year it was her and Traci. It’s always Tamar and someone right? All of our lives it’s been that way. Tamar and Trina, Tamar and Towanda, Tamar and Toni, Tamar and Traci, Tamar and Mikey so… That just comes with the territory about being the baby. This thing that happened on Twitter, why did you respond after Tamar’s fan called you jealous of her? I’m so glad you asked. I take a lot. I have tough skin and usually I laugh things off. I just have to admit that a lot of the Tamartians, most of them are extremely disrespectful and I didn’t care that they were attacking me, I didn’t care that they were attacking Andre, what I cared about was when they started attacking my kids. They said ‘I wish Towanda’s kids got raped and run over by a bus.’ See people didn’t see that stuff. They just saw what I wrote. So after that I have to say that was 100% out of character for Towanda to respond, but I wasn’t thinking about what was right and what was wrong at that moment I was just reacting and responding. Was this even the fan that you responded to that made the comments about your kids? I don’t even know. I was just reacting. As a parent you don’t even care, you go in defense mode, and that’s where I went. Where were you when it came on? Hawaii, and the show was on, so we were Tweeting. We’re very involved. Tamar was quick to defend you — she was like no shade on my sisters that’s for us, like… Stay out of it. I didn’t see it. After that I was in Twitter jail. Jail Jail. My publicist called me like get off Twitter, you’re done. Toni was like, “Umba! That’s not you, get off.” But Tamar didn’t say anything? She was pissed! Rightfully so. We always have have a sister thread in our messages so we got on that and I was in trouble because it was totally out of character for me, until I explained, “Hey these children are attacking your niece and your nephew.” Then they understood. Like ‘Okay, we get it. We wouldn’t have done it that way but we get it.’ Do you know what the financial situation is now for Vince? I don’t know if he’s taken care of it or not. Being that you had seen it on the web, you said check the web. Thank you so much for saying that because a lot of people are like ‘Towanda, you just blasted the family business!’ I didn’t tell family business. That was already on the web. This was public knowledge before I said anything ladies and gentlemen. I didn’t divulge any secrets of the Braxton family. I don’t do that. It’s just like with the Traci situation, I didn’t say ‘Hey y’all this what’s going on, Traci told me blah blah blah.’ I don’t do that. Allegedly Traci’s husband had a kid out of wedlock — it was on the web, it wasn’t anything I found out from her. We love the family dynamic, but it seems like Tamar doesn’t take kindly to teasing from you guys. Tamar is rotten! Love Tamar, but she’s rotten. We created that. We allowed her to say whatever she wanted to say and do whatever she wanted to do that now that we’re trying to create boundaries, she’s like, ‘No, why you trying to do that now that we’re grown?’ Usual family rivalry type situations. It eats away at me when she says, cuz she’s the baby, “My family don’t support me.” I’m like don’t say your family doesn’t support you, say your family doesn’t support you the way you would like them to, because when you found out you might not be able to have a kid I volunteered to carry your baby for you. When Vincent was in the hospital and we didn’t know what was going to happen with him I went up to NY and I was like your personal assistant. I wasn’t trying to be nobody personal assistant at that time but because Tamar needed me at that moment I was there. I mean Etc. Etc. Etc. Hit the flip for the scoop on what’s going on with Towanda’s personal life, her relationship with Kordell Stewart and her new business ventures.

We were introduced to Towanda Braxton via “Braxton Family Values,” a reality show showcasing songstress Toni Braxton and her four sisters who have proven to be closer than a tight knitted scarf. Trina, Towanda, Tamar, Toni and Tracey, let us into their lives filled of real world problems such as: relationship woes, family issues and the hunger for stardom. Each sister is different and as we have come to see, Towanda is the peacemaker between all the ladies. We spoke to the wife and mother of two about her troubled marriage, sister Toni’s health and some girly hair care tips we can file in our “good to know” box! HB: How’s your family doing? last time we checked you were living with Trina. We’re still out to lunch. It’s like I’m still trying to figure it out with Andre. The basis of it all is that we are trying to be here for our children because that’s what matters. Our lives don’t matter anymore what matters is the welfare of children, so we are trying to figure it out for them. HB: Has your sister Trina’s relationship improved in your eyes? They are definitely communicating better, I think one time I said even on the show that when you have a another family in your household it forces you to use your words and talk to each other and not at each other. They were arguing at each other. I guess by me and my family being there it did kind of help their relationship. HB: What advice do you give to another woman who is in the same position as you and your husband? I usually say if its fixable than try to fix it. You have to try and exasperate all of your options. That’s what I’m trying to do and I’m the type of person that doesn’t like to give up and marriage isn’t easy! Unless he’s beating your head in, it’s fixable and it depends on what your breaking point is. Some women’s breaking point is cheating… My breaking point is someone bashing my head in. You ain’t gon’ bash me in my head! HB: You come across as the peacemaker, which sister is the hardest to deal with? T-A-M-A-R…she is the baby, we have spoiled her rotten and we’ve allowed her to get away with so much. and now we’re like wait a minute, we have children we cant do this anymore, our children are watching. Now it’s time for everyone to set boundaries. HB: Tamar & Vince are getting their own show, your feelings about it? Im excited for Tamar and Vince, I can’t wait to see it because it’s going to be a different dynamic. Tamar is one way with her sisters and another way with Vince. So I think it’s another side of her everyone will see. She’s a bit shy as-a-matter-of -fact when she meets other people. Around us she can be herself but around other people she’s a little shy. HB: Is Vince doing OK? he was reportedly sick … He’s good, he’s at home now! HB: How’s Toni doing? she was recently admitted into the hospital. She’s good, whenever she has a small flare she likes to go to the hospital get some tests and it’s good to do that before she gets a full flare-up. Lupus attacks anything, it makes you fatigue. This is how she describes it ‘It’s like having the worst flu of your life,’ your body aches, you can’t get out of bed, you don’t want to do anything. That’s basically how it is with a full flare-up. HB: What was your reaction when you first found out about her Lupus? Since I was working with Toni, I was kind of privy to a lot of little things. My thing was, of course I was sad, I tried to look at the silver lining, like at least it isn’t attacking your main organs like your heart meaning that she could have a heart-attack at anytime. Since you’ve been liberated of your personal assistant duties, how has life been? I don’t know quite how to act! All this time on my hands. I’ve been doing acting clases with Terry Vaughn. I went on an audition and I got the part! To be honest, i don’t know about this part though. It’s in a play. I think in a few years I will have an Emmy award and an Oscar! HB: Growing up, what was one thing you mother always taught you? That there’s no one greater than you than god! HB: How do you maintain your tresses? I caught a lot of flack for wearing pig tails, let’s be honest first season you don’t get a huge budget so you kind of have to figure it out yourself. I use a lot of mousse and black gel, the pro gel– keep them edges down. I wear weaves, lots of weaves…underneath I’m natural. I was always the girl that never wanted to go natural, My hair is very soft and fine so I have to be careful how much heat I put on my hair. Weaves are great for me all of my hair is braiding underneath . 5 Quick Questions: What’s in your bag? Lipgloss and my wallet. Boxers or Briefs: Boxers Last time you cried: When my mother in law passed in 2007 Bags vs. Shoes? That’s hard [long pause]shoes… If you had to get a tattoo at gunpoint what would it be? Droopy! The actual character because people say I’m so nonchalant about things but you know what ‘I’m Happy’ Toni Braxton Admitted To Hospital Tamar’s “Hood Rat Pop,” Toni’s Surgery & Towanda’s Big Secret on “Braxton Family Values” [RECAP]
The girls are still trying to hook Mama Ev up on blind dates! On this week’s episode of “Braxton Family Values,” Towanda decided to try and hook her mother up with one of her friends. The only problem is that this guy is super young, 27 years old to be exact. “Where is his Daddy for God’s sake?!” Mama Ev jokes during the date. I’m wondering the same thing! Looks like Ev is trying to get her groove back! Go head then! Then it was time for Towanda to celebrate her birthday. The family decided to dress up as their favorite celebrities for the birthday bash and really got into full character during dinner. Tamar (of course) dressed up as Beyonce, Toni as Eartha Kit, Trina as Paris Hilton, Papa Braxton as Flavor Flav and Mama Ev as Tina Turner. Everything was all fun and games, that is until one of their close friends showed up dressed as Tamar! Hilarious!! Check out the clip from Towanda’s birthday bash here! After Towanda’s party, the family seemed to be getting along great until they had another get together at Tamar’s house. Tamar and Trina had a few choice words with each other which lead to Tamar storming out, upset with her sister and saying that she felt physically threatened. The two decide to go to counseling to try and patch up their differences, but it seems like there are some deeper rooter issues here that is causing them to have such bad arguments. On last night’s episode of “Braxton Family Values”, we got a deeper look into Tamar’s singing career, Traci’s dreams of opening a salon, Towanda and Andre’s marriage issues and Toni’s failing assistant. While all the sisters are in L.A, Traci decides that she wants to either open up a hair salon in Maryland or continue singing backup with her sisters. After asking for her sisters help and advice, she decides that she wants to pursue the hair salon and even takes a quick class while in L.A. Towanda and Andre are still having marriage issues after Towanda shares with him that she has been asked by Toni to come to L.A and whip her new assistant into shape. Andre complains that Towanda is putting her sisters ahead of his needs which causes more distance in their relationship. Once Towanda gets to L.A., she finds out that Toni’s assistant needs more help than she expected. Toni asks Towanda to stay in L.A for a little while longer and help her out as much as possible, which will definitely cause even more problems with her and Andre’s relationship. Tamar has decided to begin working on her album. Her husband, Vince, helps hook her up with a studio session with one of the best producers in the game, however, with Tamar’s ego and big mouth, she feels like his skills are rather mediocre compared to her singing abilities and she decides to seek help elsewhere. The only problem is that she decides to do this without talking to her husband first, and wants to have a “musical affair” with a well established producer named Harvey. Once she finally gets up enough courage to share this with her husband, they have a small argument which ends with Vince saying, “I’m done with this” and Tamar getting up and walking out of the room. Sigh, nothing ever gets resolved with Tamar.com in the building! What did you think about this weeks episode?
