What’s On: Jeff Lewis Enters Hell’s Kitchen

So to speak, anyway. The star of Flipping Out will entertain a new venture for his business in tonight’s episode. Elsewhere on the tube, Melissa Joan Hart tries on a bad boy, America’s Got Talent progresses, and we revisit Julie Bowen’s finest ’90s hour.

SHOCKER: Will Forte Has No Plans For MacGruber 2

You can finally wipe the sweat from your brow because Will Forte has confirmed that he is not exiting Saturday Night Live to shoot a sequel to his box-office flop MacGruber . Instead, the actor will spend his retirement “playing volleyball and drinking beer.” In an interview published yesterday, Forte revealed that he decided to leave after seven seasons because he “turned 40 and started getting very… introspective.” That being said, Forte is totally open to returning to Studio 8H to reprise the crafty character for a few minutes. “If they ever wanted me to come back and do a ‘MacGruber” for one episode,’ Forte offered, “I would.” [ JoBlo ]

Quoth The Raven, "John Cusack To Star"

Setting his hot tub time machine for the mid-19th century, John Cusack will be starring as Edgar Allan Poe in James McTeigue’s The Raven . The film will not be based on Poe’s poem, but rather on Poe and a young detective’s hunt for a serial killer in Baltimore in the last few days of Poe’s life. Y’know, I think I’d much rather watch a biopic proper of Poe’s life, rather than see him awkwardly shoehorned into some standard killer-thriller. After the break, check out the only adaption of The Raven worth watching.

As the summer shuffles slowly off this seasonal coil, audiences decided they’d most like to see Satan plonk his thorny throne atop the box office. Michael Cera Tells You What Films To Watch

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before — Michael Cera walks into a London coffee shop and strikes up conversation with one of the locals. Before you know it, they’re besties and become wrapped up in a 2 hour long discussion of films. But before they part, Cera gives the lad a hand-written syllabus of movies he simply must watch. So what gets the Cera Stamp of Approval?

Jimmy Fallon on the Emmys, Playing Wii with the Queen, and His Fantasy Mad Men Project

For the past two weeks, Jimmy Fallon has been spending his Late Night vacation days in Los Angeles as he prepares to host this Sunday’s 62nd Emmy Awards, an esteemed gig that will put him in the company of legendary entertainers like Lucille Ball, Ed Sullivan, Frank Sinatra, and Johnny Carson. Unlike the hosts before him, the Saturday Night Live alum will be relying on his Twitter network for intros and in turn, NBC will be relying on Fallon to smoothly move the telecast along, skirting any potential grenades that the Outstanding Variety Series winner might bring. With this in mind, Movieline caught up with the late night host at an NBC party a few weeks ago to discuss his take on award shows, his recent social networking failure, and Will Arnett’s greatest Emmy diss.

Scream 4 Adds Two Teen Queens

A few weeks ago while perusing the Scream 4 cast list, I mused that for a slasher movie, it was awfully devoid of a certain genre staple: nubile, stabbable babes. Maybe the production was just biding its time, as shortly after adding blonde bombshells Kristen Bell and Anna Paquin to the cast , it’s come out that 90210’s Shenae Grimes and Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale are joining the sequel. Practice your post-modern shrieks of terror, ladies. [ Zap2It ]

Weekend Forecast: Can the Devil Beat James Cameron?

It’s the end of August — a historically stolid climate both outdoors and at the movies. That was never really truer than this weekend, with the Biggest Movie Ever getting some cheese sprinkled on top before a reheat in the multiplex microwave and nothing really blowing anyone’s mind (or pocketbooks) at the art house. But is it worth taking the weekend off entirely? Hardly! Let’s check out the forecast:

Underperforming Flipped Gets Clipped

It’s not going so well for Rob Reiner’s Flipped . The period family drama came out August 6 in limited theaters and was supposed to move into wide release this Friday, but instead of expanding, it will continue to drop theaters after a few weeks of tough box office. Five straight months of inexplicably constant LA Times coverage couldn’t move the needle any? [ THR ]
