Actor Hosea Chanchez Reveals He Was Sexually Abused By His Friend’s Father At 14

Source: Earl Gibson III / Getty Actor Hosea Chanchez is the latest male figure in Hollywood to open up about the sexual abuse he endured at the hands of another man during childhood. The former “The Game” star took to Instagram to share how he grappled with betrayal and trauma after his friend’s father molested him at 14. “I’m Hosea chanchez and when I was 14 years old I was molested BY my friends father. This man is a predator, preying on children who’s trust he’s falsely built through lies, manipulation, threats and secrets,” he wrote on a caption, with a photo of himself as a young boy accompanying the message. Continuing, “I hope this truth helps to stop child molesting predators from sexually assaulting more children. Pedophiles have no place in our society they hide in the open and rape children who are afraid to speak up because of shame, guilt, fear, denial and the thought that no one will believe them. Im doing this to help parents and young children become aware of some of the signs and better protect themselves from sexual predators.” SEE ALSO:  ‘The Game’ Actor Pooch Hall Is Facing Up To 6.5 Years In Prison In the corresponding slides, Chanchez tells a horrifying tale about how his friend’s father primed him for assault by asking him personal questions about his attractions and his sex life during car rides and time one-on-one. The now 37-year-old also said that the predator used the fact that he was raised by a single mom to fill the space of masculine authority that was lacking in his upbringing. “He knew my father wasn’t in my life and my mother was a single mom, so he would always tell me I was like his other son,” he bravely revealed. One day the molester leveraged that trust to assault him in the car and threatened to ruin his life if he told. At the end, he named his alleged assaulter by name, saying “I’m choosing to expose him now, to finally hold this man accountable.” You can read the entire account below. Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Polar Vortex: Is It Coming Your Way?!?

There are certain terms no American wants to hear: Tila Tequila sex tape . Kate Upon clothed. Justin Bieber retiring . And to this list we can now add Polar Vortex, as areas across the Midwest and East Coast are becoming all too familiar with this frigid weather phenomenon. Polar Vortex: What Is It? A Polar Vortex is a whirlpool of freezing air and it descend upon various parts of the country today. Those in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin are experiencing subzero temperatures and more than a foot of snow. They are being encouraged to remain inside. “It’s just a dangerous cold,” National Weather Service meteorologist Butch Dye says, referring to places such as Fargo, North Dakota, where the forecast is for 32 degrees below zero. Frostbite and hypothermia often set in quickly at 15 to 30 below zero. The weather is wreaking havoc on travel, as well, with thousands of flights canceled yesterday through Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis. Attractions such as the St. Louis Art Museum and St. Louis Zoo have been closed indefinitely, while the Indiana Supreme Court is closed and even southern states are bracing for record-low temperatures. There are endless snow days around the country, but let’s hope those happy kids are bundled up to the fullest extend while they sled and play around. It’s seriously dangerous out there.

Mark Ruffalo Might Be Overselling The Avengers

If nothing else, this really puts paycheck roles in perspective: “You have all these disparate egos, superheroes in this and that, and they refuse to give up some of their positions in order to make a more perfect union and to join the team. That’s really what the whole movie is about: subjugating your own best interest momentarily to further that of the whole. I didn’t know it a year ago that it was going to speak to so many of the issues we’re having here in the United States and throughout the world, the same kind of theme.” [ Speakeasy/WSJ via The Awl ]

Lady Gaga Doubles Up At Grammy Nominations Special

Gaga opens and closes the show, with an assist from country duo Sugarland. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga opens the “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!” Photo: Lester Cohen/ WireImage Anyone who has ever seen Lady Gaga is aware that she knows how to work a look. And on Wednesday’s (November 30) “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!,” she worked two of them, both about as different as could be. As she announced earlier, Gaga served as both the opening and closing act during the telecast, and, of course, those two roles required two totally different sides of the Mother Monster. She started things off with a steampunk -y version of “Marry the Night,” opening the song on a stage littered with smoking pipes and scattered bits of scrap metal. Her face done up like a skeleton (or perhaps Zombie Boy ?), wearing a black cloak, she solemnly sang the song’s opening lines, as a group of gothed-up dancers cavorted around her. Take a closer look at this year’s Grammy nominees through photos! As the beat kicked in, she shed her cloak (revealing a sport coat, matching underwear set and, of course, thigh-high boots) and hit the harmonies hard, while guitars wailed and those dancers posed and popped. Then the whole thing gave way to a particularly fierce dance segment, which brought the performance to a close and earned a standing ovation from the industry-heavy crowd (David Guetta seemed particularly pumped, it should be noted). And after the nominations were revealed, Gaga was back to wrap things up, and she did so in true Grammy style, joined onstage by country duo Sugarland for a husky, musky version of “Yo

2012 Grammy Nominations: Kanye West Tops The List

Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars tie for six nods each, just falling short of West’s seven nominations. By Kelley L. Carter Kanye West (file) Photo: Getty Images For the second year in a row, a hip-hop artist is leading the pack in Grammy nominations. Although his name was only called for one category during Wednesday’s (November 30) “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!,” Kanye West walked away with a leading seven nods, following the hip-hop trend set by last year’s leading nominee, Eminem . He’s nominated for his Watch the Throne joint album with Jay-Z and also picked up a few nominations — including Song of the Year — for his powerhouse collaborative track “All of the Lights,” which features Rihanna, Fergie and Kid Cudi. He’s even nominated against himself, with Watch the Throne and his own My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy nabbing Rap Album of the Year nods. West was followed by this year’s critical darling, Adele , who is tied with the Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars for six nods each. Lil Wayne and dance-music breakout Skrillex each garnered five nods. While the Grammys have a reputation for catering to an older demographic (Robert Plant and Alison Krauss for 2009 Album of the Year, anyone?), this year’s nominees are notably young, with 34-year-old West looking downright geriatric next to fellow nominees Adele (23), Rihanna (23), Lady Gaga (25) and Bruno Mars (26). Take a closer look at this year’s Grammy nominees through photos! The 54th annual Grammys air Sunday, February 12, on CBS. Here are the rest of the nominations: Album of the Year
