Singer, actor and now author, Tyrese Gibson, caught up with the editors of JET magazine recently where he discussed topics like his upcoming roles in Fast Five (apart of the Fast and the Furious series) and another Transformers movie which are both scheduled to hit theaters this summer. Tyrese also spoke about his new album which is set to his stores this year and even his first book, “How to Get Out of Your Own Way”, which is set to hit bookstores this April. Looks like Tyrese has been pretty busy lately! The 32-year old also had time to do a full length interview and although all of the Q&A session did not make the magazine, we’ve got the scoop on the interview outtakes below. When Asked why he tweets about God so much : “It’s overwhelming. I’ve actually had people to say, ‘Man this dude talk about God so much, I’m-a unfollow.’ He don’t supposed to follow me. If you don’t want me talking about God, this is my Twitter page, it’s my timeline, I can shout out the man, I can shout out my source as much as I want to. Period. And at the end of the day, I feel like so many people are inspired and motivated by my story and my career and whatever else, I’m giving people an understanding that I didn’t make it this far in my life on talent alone. I’m a thinking man. I’m a God-fearing man. I recognize that God has blessed me and ordered my footsteps, but I’m also saying to everybody, “I’m doing the work.” Like, ain’t nobody given me nothing. Period. And so, I look at Twitter as me saying Thank you to all of my fans.” When asked why he doesn’t edit himself on Twitter: “It’s not something that I purposely do. It’s not coming from a space of rebellion. I just really want people to know some of the things I know. I’ve had people say, ‘I was a big fan of yours, but me loving you just went to a whole other level because of the things that you write and the things that you speak.’ And so, unfortunately this is a town and Hollywood in particular, where people can fall in love with who you appear to be, the surface, right? But then when they get off camera, there’s somebody completely the opposite.” When asked how he stays hungry: “I live my life by these words: ‘You can’t get points today for yesterday’s game.’ You won MVP last week, OK, get over it. It’s like, there’s another level to this thing and people like Will Smith and Denzel and Rev Run and … and like I got a few billion-dollar friends and multi-billion friends … these people have really messed up from showing me this life and lifestyle because I know that there’s a-whole-nother level of playing field out there that I can get to. Now, people get complacent – and I know if you leave this in there, it’s just gonna shake people up – people stop being inspired when they have more than all of their friends. Mariah Carey was rushed to the hospital earlier this morning because she was having contractions. Luckily for us she took the time in between rushing to the hospital and having contractions to inform us via Twitter that she was indeed being rushed to the hospital and having contractions. (Thank God for social networking sites, right? lol) The contractions turned out to be a false alarm however, as Mimi later tweeted, “They almost came on 3/27- happy anniversary in deed!!! New take on hit song, dubbed ‘The Country Road Version,’ features slide guitar, mandolin and harmonica. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images You can take all those Madonna comparisons and throw them out the window of your Ford F-150 truck, because on Thursday night Lady Gaga released a whole new version of her global smash “Born This Way” that featured a totally unexpected spin. After tweeting to her Little Monsters that she was preparing to release “Born This Way (The Country Road Version),” Mother Monster dropped the tune at midnight PT on Friday (March 25) via her Twitter account … and it did not disappoint. The new rendition of the hit opens with ominous, swirling guitars and then introduces a fuzzed-out slide guitar and harmonica wheeze, with all of the thumping disco beats replaced by restrained brush drumming and a more laid-back vibe. Once it kicks into the first chorus, the song continues to take its time, choogling along on live-sounding, laconic drumming and lots of soulful harmonica. Just before the three-minute mark, Gaga mixes in some new lyrics, drawling, “If I wanna make it country, baby, then it’s OK, cuz I was born, I was born, I was born this way,” over picked mandolin. “From London, Paris, Japan back to USA/ I was born on the road, I was born to be brave,” she adds, as the song breaks into full-on country-rock mode reminiscent of late-period Bon Jovi in the final minute. Meanwhile, the original, non-boot-scooting version of “BTW” notched its sixth week in a row at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts this week, which is what Gaga said prompted her to drop the surprise remake on her fans. Earlier this week, Gaga revealed that she’s almost done recording her Born This Way album , telling fans via Twitter, “In Nebraska, finishing up record today … I’m so proud of the album: I keep dancing+drinking: metal/techno rock journey of a woman on the run.” Plans are now being worked up for the tour in support of Born This Way (due out May 23) and Gaga’s first swing at directing, a collaboration with her creative director, Laurieann Gibson, on the video for the album’s upcoming second single, “Judas.” What do you think of Gaga’s twanged-up version of “Born This Way”? Great Britain’s The Sun is reporting that infamous Hollywood club-goer Megan Levant has joined Charlie Sheen’s stable of willing women, as she’s been seen entering and leaving the actor’s Beverly Hills home over the last few weeks. According to her Twitter account, Megan Levant likes “porn and vodka.” It’s like she’s advertising for Charlie Sheen! Incredibly, Sheen might be a romantic upgrade for Levant, who has been linked in the past to Pauly Shore and Simon Rex. The 26-year old allegedly hung out on a yacht with fellow sex slaves Rachel Oberline and Natalie Kenly last month and is known as a major party animal. Says a source to the newspaper: “Megan is well-known on the club scene – mostly for her filthy antics. She often goes out wearing next to nothing and is not shy about sex. She loves porn and is a regular visitor to the Playboy Mansion.” Soon enough, if this report is true, she’ll also be a regular visitor to the free clinic.
