Spurgeon Seewald is one happy little fella. New mom Jessa Duggar shared a bedtime photo of her son sleeping with a big smile on his little face last night. All together now … AWW! “Have to wonder what it is that babies dream about…” Jessa captioned the Facebook pic, adding in a smiley face and a well-earned heart emoji. Pretty special, whatever it was that led to this moment. Jessa, 23, and husband Ben Seewald, 20, welcomed their first-born child, Spurgeon Elliott, on November 5 after a grueling 48-hour labor . He weighed 9 lbs. 11 oz. and measured 21.5 inches long at birth and is named after 19th century Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon. It’s an unusual moniker, but they love it – and him. The new mom says that sometimes, it still hasn’t truly hit her what she’s been through and what a magical experience this has been: “When we got home from the hospital, we had the baby on the bed between us, and we were lying there … it seemed like a dream.” And then the maligned, put upon Jana Duggar came and took care of him so they could sleep, but never received any of the credit. So it goes in Duggarland. But we digress people. As for first-time father Ben, he notes, “Jessa and I are trying to call each other Mom and Dad just so this whole being-parents thing can sink in.” One would think two days of laboring to push him out, then having a baby human living with you would be enough, but to each their own.
