Getty Images Black Ink Crew’s Phor Arrested In Indiana Phor , one of the stars of VH1’s Black Ink Crew: Chicago , got cuffed right along with his whole crew last week. The incident happened after a police officer pulled them over because clouds of smoke were visibly billowing out of the group’s limo van. According to reports from TMZ , the tattoo artist was arrested in Gary, Indiana along with 6 friends, and is now facing criminal weed charges. According to the police report, an officer pulled over Phor’s Mercedes limo after he both heard loud music and smelled pot. Apparently, the driver told the cop they were heading to a club in Gary–which is only about 25 miles from Chicago–and tried to get the officer’s sympathy by saying, “Look bro, I have a celebrity in the back.” Um, tread lightly there, Mr. driver… Unfortunately for Phor and his crew, the cop didn’t care about his reality celebrity-dom. On top of that, the driver allegedly didn’t have ID or registration for the vehicle, and because it stunk like weed, they were all taken into custody for weed-related offenses.
Eric McCandless/ABC via Getty Images ABC Pulled A Black-ish Episode 5 Days Before Air ABC’s series Black-ish is known for never backing down from controversial social and political issues, but that wasn’t the case when it came to airing a recent episode. The network has indefinitely postponed what seems to be a pretty sensitive episode over certain “creative differences” with the showrunner Kenya Barris, according to Variety . At the moment, ABC doesn’t have any plans to air the episode or make it available at all. The episode is titled “Please, Baby, Please” and was initially scheduled to air on February 27. But five days before the airdate, it was announced that the episode wouldn’t air and would instead be replaced with a rerun. ABC didn’t reveal why the adjustment had been made or when the shelved episode would actually air. An ABC spokesperson told Variety, “One of the things that has always made ‘Black-ish’ so special is how it deftly examines delicate social issues in a way that simultaneously entertains and educates. However, on this episode there were creative differences we were unable to resolve.” The episode titled, “Please, Baby, Please” shows father Dre (played by Anthony Anderson) with his baby boy while a thunderstorm keeps the whole family awake. Dre improvises a bedtime story that eventually reveals his anxieties about some of the issues facing the country. The episode also discusses the rights of football players to kneel during performances of the national anthem. “Given our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it,” Barris told Variety . “‘Black-ish’ is a show that has spoken to all different types of people and brought them closer as a community and I’m so proud of the series.”

Harvard University campus in Boston Massachusetts USA Harvard Professor Leaves Amid 18 Sexual Harassment Allegations A Harvard University Political Science professor by the name of Jorge I. Domínguez has left his job following 18 different women coming forward to claim they had been sexually harassed by him. In a report published by the Chronicle of Higher Education , several colleagues of Domínguez came forward in order to tell stories of unwanted advances and other inappropriate behavior. The alleged incidents date decades back all the way to the ’80s. Terry Karl, a junior professor during her time at Harvard, explained that he would often touch her inappropriately. After filing a complaint against Domínguez, who was slated to be the next department chair, Harvard determined he was responsible for misconduct and as a result, he “was removed from administrative responsibilities for three years and told that any future misconduct could trigger his dismissal.” After Karl left the university, several other women–including both faculty and students–filed sexual harassment complaints against Dominguez to the university, many of which were dismissed or held up indefinitely. Other women who spoke to the Chronicle said they stayed silent on their experiences out of fear of retaliation, which included some leaving the university entirely. Karl insists that she did everything she could to sound the alarm while she was at Harvard and emphasizes, “the silence was not mine. It was Harvard’s.” Very soon after the Chronicle report was published approximately a week ago, Harvard put Domínguez on administrative leave pending review. But then, in an email to colleagues, the disgraced professor announced that he would be leaving Harvard once and for all. He wrote, “I am retiring from my job at Harvard at the end of this semester. It has been a privilege to serve the university.” Jorge I. Domínguez refused to comment directly on Karl’s claims, according to the Chronicle .
Image via Brian van der Brug/Los Angeles Times via Getty Cops Leave Geriatric Woman To Die In Smokey Hallway The family of 91-year-old Ethel Davis is outraged after their beloved matriarch was pronounced dead at the hospital following what now looks to be an egregious case of misconduct at BEST. According to DailyMail , NYPD Sgt. Timothy Brovakos and two other officers left Davis to die in the smoke filled hallway. Davis’ building caught on fire and the officers went in to rescue her, however Brovakos was overcome with smoke and had to be helped mid-rescue. Part of the outrage stems from the fact that the building is fireproof and Davis didn’t necessarily need their help: Her family claims the officers should never have tried to evacuate them in the first place because the block is a fireproof building – meaning it is designed to contain fires to the units where they break out. Moreover… Peter Thomas, an attorney for the Davis family, said the officers mistakenly left the door open between the 11th and 12th floors, which allowed ‘massive plumes of smoke to billow in’. The elderly woman’s daughter Marcia had pleaded with the officers to let them stay in the apartment and not risk going into the smoke-filled corridor. Below is security cam footage of the rescue just moments before cops abandoned Ms. Davis to die. If this doesn’t piss you off, peep what the cops’ lawyer said: ‘He risked his life to save this woman,’ Quinn said. ‘This is what makes it difficult to be a cop these days. You run into a burning building to save lives and get blamed.’ Awww, poor pigs…

(Andrew Lichtenstein/Corbis via Getty Images) White Middle School Teacher Under Fire For Cruel Slavery Lesson Can you imagine sending your children to school only to have their white teacher make them lie on the floor, then step on them, to experience what it’s like to be SLAVES ? According to NY Daily News reports Middle School 118 teacher Patricia Cummings is under fire for her unorthodox teaching methods. Students say about two weeks ago the teacher, who is white, had students in multiple seventh-grade classes lie on the floor as part of a lesson on the Middle Passage, where Africans were kidnapped and brought to America during the slave trade. “It was a lesson about slavery and the Triangle Trade,” said one of Cummings’ students, who asked to remain anonymous. “She picked three of the black kids,” the boy said, and instructed them to get on the floor in front of the class. “She said, ‘You see how it was to be a slave?’ She said, ‘How does it feel?’ ” When a girl on the floor made an uncomfortable joke and said she felt fine, Cummings stepped on her back, the student said. “She put her foot on her back and said ‘How does it feel?’” the student said. “ ‘See how it feels to be a slave?’ ” Cummings was removed from the classroom for several days after the incident, but returned to class and was in school Thursday. Cummings, who makes $68,934 a year, was reassigned away from children later in the day after the Daily News contacted the city Education Department about her controversial lesson. “While the investigation has not been completed, these are deeply disturbing allegations, and the alleged behavior has no place in our schools or in society,” said Education Department spokeswoman Toya Holness. MS 118 Principal Giulia Cox declined to comment. Cummings students say she delivered the lesson after showing a video of slaves being beaten, tortured and thrown over the side of a ship. “She had students lie on the floor,” said another kid who was in one of the lessons. “She was measuring the length and width to show how little space slaves had in the ship. It was strange.” Cummings declined to speak with the NY Daily News when contacted. If your child was one of her students, how would you want the situation handled?

Chitchatter… Jay Z Speaks On Beyonce Marriage With Van Jones Beyonce and Jay Z could have easily split after Hov’s infidelity, but according to Jay there’s a valid reason why they didn’t. Hov was a guest on (Roc Nation signee) Van Jones’ debut talk show Saturday and spoke candidly on his marriage to Bey. According to Hov, they didn’t divorce after his infidelity as addressed on “Lemonade” and “4:44” because they wanted to “break the cycle” and fight for their love for their children. “For us, we chose to fight for our love, for our family,” said Hov. “To give our kids a different outcome. To break that cycle for black men and women.” Jay-Z tells @vanjones68 about mending his marriage with Beyoncé: “For us, we chose to fight for our love. For our family. To give our kids a different outcome. To break that cycle for black men and women” #VanJonesShow https://t.co/wLq6GxxpVc https://t.co/Nq4mLVAvSJ — CNN (@CNN) January 28, 2018 He also added that Bey’s his soulmate so that’s why he wanted to fight. “What is about this marriage that’s so special that you would fight this hard to save it?” asked Van. “That’s my soul mate,” said Hov. “It’s the person I love. If you haven’t experienced love or don’t understand it or you don’t have the tools to move forward then you are going to have complications. Period.” But what would he do if the shoe was on the other foot and Bey cheated on him? Hov said he’d hopefully be as forgiving as her, the “strongest woman he knows.” “If the transgressions had been on [Beyonce’s] side, do you think you’d be able to be as forgiving of her as she was of you?” asked Van. “I hope,” said Jay. “I love her the same way. I pray that [I’d have her strength] she’s the strongest woman I know” The Van Jones show airs Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on CNN. Hit the flip for more Bey and Hov.
