Giants Upset Packers, Ravens Advance

Original post:

A weekend of great football games was punctuated by the exit of the defending champion Green Bay Packers. The NY Giants defeated the “Cheeseheads” 37 to 20 thanks to stifling defense and one amazing Hail Mary TD pass from QB Eli Manning to Hakeem Nicks in the first half. Now the Giants will face the San Francisco 49ers, who had an impressive win against the New Orleans Saints, in the NFC Championship game next week. Ray Lewis and his Baltimore Ravens knocked off the Houston Texans to advance to the AFC title game against the New England Patriots.  The Patriots ended the Cinderella run of Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos with a 45 to 10 spanking. Late last year, the two breezy stars first joined forces for the G-mix “Black and Yellow” remix . As a longtime Steelers fan, Snoop had no problem giving it up on the Pit anthem. Obama Administration Protected Black Panther Who Advocates Killing "Cracker" Babies

A former Justice Department lawyer hired during the Bush administration alleged on Tuesday that the department scaled down a voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party last year because his former colleagues do not want to protect white people’s civil rights. The case arose after two members of the New Black Panther Party stood outside a polling place in a majority-black precinct in Philadelphia on Election Day in 2008. A video of the men, posted online, showed them dressed in paramilitary clothing, and one carried a billy club. In January 2009, less than two weeks before the Bush administration left office, the civil rights division invoked a rarely used section of the Voting Rights Act to file a civil lawsuit alleging voter intimidation by both men, the party chairman and the party. In April 2009, the division seemed to win the case by default because the New Black Panthers failed to show up in court. But the following month, a longtime Justice official, Loretta King — who was then the acting head of the division — decided to reduce the scope of the case. The department dropped the charges against the party, its chairman and the man who was not carrying a club. It pressed forward with the lawsuit against the man with the club, obtaining an injunction that forbids him from carrying a weapon near an open polling place in Philadelphia through 2012. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN67KJdd6Mw added by: ibrake4rappers13

Prince Records ‘Purple And Gold,’ Fight Song For Minnesota Vikings

Singer was so inspired by team’s victory over Dallas Cowboys that he immediately wrote ‘Purple and Gold.’ By Kyle Anderson Prince Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Anybody who watched last weekend’s 34-3 shellacking of the Dallas Cowboys at the hands of Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings noticed a peculiar guest in one of the skyboxes at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. Seated not too far from Vikings owner Zygi Wilf was one of Minnesota’s most iconic residents: Prince . It was the second game the Purple One has attended this year, and he’s so enthusiastic about his team’s Super Bowl chances that he has penned a fight song called “Purple and Gold.” Released just in time for the Vikings’ conference championship game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, “Purple and Gold” not only brings together the two colors that have defined the artist’s existence for the length of his career but also provides some inspirational words for Favre, Adrian Peterson and the rest of the gridiron crew: “We come in the name of the purple and gold/ All of the odds are in our favor/ No prediction too bold/ We are the truth/ If the truth can be told/ Long reign the purple and gold.” The inspirational song sounds more like an old-timey college-style fight song than any of the rock or funk workouts Prince is traditionally known for.
