It’s been a long time coming, as the actress admitted in a new Vogue cover story. “I have had no control over my life,” Watson said. “I have lived in a complete bubble. They found me and picked me for the part. And now I’m desperately trying to find my way through it.” The first move she made was signing on to an adaptation of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” a provocative novel about teenage life in America. She also dropped out of Brown University in March, after years of fighting to continue her education while also remaining committed to one of the biggest film franchises on Earth. “I have felt for the last 10 years I have had this battle — I’ve been fighting so hard to have an education. It’s been this uphill struggle,” she said. “I was Warner Bros.’ pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult.” Now fully outside the “Potter” bubble, Watson is trying, as she put it, “to really enjoy the good things because it makes the bad things OK.” Among those unwelcome things is the constant attention of the paparazzi. And when she does begin a new relationship (her previous one ended last summer), she hopes the tabloid spotlight won’t spoil the romance. “I’m a feminist, but I think that romance has been taken away a bit for my generation. I think what people connect with in novels is this idea of an overpowering, encompassing love — and it being more important and special than anything and everything else,” she said. “I would love to not date someone in the same industry as me. In the just premiered video , directed by Marc Klasfeld, Perry pays homage to the teen flicks of the ’80s, with the help of quite a few famous friends. In the midst of a rousing game of sudoku, the brace-faced, headgear-wearing, nerdy Kathy seems initially mad at the house party going on outside. So, what’s a girl to do? Well, try to reason with the revelers and get them to stop, obviously. But those revelers happen to include “Friday” singer Rebecca Black, house band Hanson, with an assist from Kathy Beth Terry ‘s crazy uncle Kenny G, and “Glee” stars Darren Criss and Kevin McHale, the latter of whom has a mad, fantasy-tinged crush on Kathy. And soon, rather than put an end to the festivities, she’s drawn into the party, which includes the tropes from movies like “She’s All That,” “Can’t Hardly Wait” and about five flicks by John Hughes. After Black gives Perry a makeover, complete with spandex, big hair and funky earrings, she’s hanging with all of the cool kids. She’s drinking, dancing, vomiting and falling over drunk, while the song’s lyrics talk about regretting the Friday-night actions that are inevitably documented and spread online. And, of course, it all comes back to Saturday morning, when a hungover Kathy is both pleased and shocked by what happened the night before, as her passed-out guests and Facebook page remind her of it all. Her parents arrive on the scene, but they don’t seem too angry at her party-girl antics, maybe because they’re played by Debbie Gibson and Corey Feldman. The only real casualty of the party? Debbie Gibson knows a thing or two dozen about success as a teenager. At the age of 17, she became the youngest singer to write, produce and release a number-one hit on the Billboard 100. So at least this 40-year old is speaking from experience when she says of Justin Bieber’s fame: “It’s too much too soon. People have to remember, even though a kid can be wise beyond their years professionally and can handle showbiz, emotionally you’re not developed.” Justin Bieber is mature for his age. The kid has a mustache! Gibson only has Bieber’s best interest in mind, fearing the cute idol will “lose his sanity” at this rate, although Justin says he’s already there . “If I could get all these kids in a room, I’d tell them you’re not superhuman,” Gibson told E! News. “If you need to take a week off, take a week off. Everybody makes you think the world will end and it won’t. If you say no, you save your sanity later.” Bieber, of course, has no plans to slow down. His 3D biopic hits theaters in February. So far, this 16-year appears to have his head on straight, although the same thing can’t always be said of his fans. Case in point .
