Price is Right Contestant Sets Plinko Record, Goes Awesomely Insane

The price was very much right for a contestant named Ryan on Thursday morning. On the latest edition of this beloved program, this enthusiastic young man was at first called down to play. He then bid closest the actual price of an item and got to go up on stage with Drew Carey. And, in case this wasn't exciting enough for Ryan, he then learned that he would be trying to win lots of money via the most popular game on all of The Price is Right… … PLINKO! Dropping his first chip, Ryan won $10,000, the most one can win with a single Plinko drop. But he was just getting started. From there, he earned himself a $1,000 more on his second chip, another $10,000 on his third, a meager $500 on his fourth drop and then, yes, ANOTHER $10,000 on his last! That would be a total of $31,500. And that would be a new Plinko record! At this point, both Ryan and the studio audience lost their minds. Chants of “RYAN! RYAN! RYAN!” broke out inside the venue, with Ryan himself happily joining in. It was a special and historic moment. And Twitter was there to document it for all of eternity. Watch the greatest Plinko game in history now!

Hugh Jackman And Psy Dance Gangnam Style On The ‘Wolverine’ Set (VIDEO)

The Korean pop sensation that’s taken over the world has found its way to the set of Wolverine , where the tuxedoed Psy stopped by to teach star Hugh Jackman — wearing Wolverine’s adamantium claws — how to dance Gangnam Style. And I thought the Filipino prison dancers marked the jumping of the shark! Putting years of Broadway dance training to use, the enthusiastic Jackman seems to have picked up Psy’s signature pony move pretty quickly, which is impressive if you’ve watched every celebrity this side of Ellen Degeneres attempt the dance craze of the year. They even gave Psy his own Wolverine claws. Okay, that’s pretty cool. It’s even better if you imagine this as the character Wolverine meeting Psy and indulging in a lighthearted moment of cross-cultural glee before an epic battle to the death. Because Psy is clearly some sort of mutant being whose power is the ability to entrance strangers with his syncopated gyrations and that damnedly irresistible ditty. Slicing gangnam style!!!! Great to meet @ psy_oppa who visited set yesterday. twitter.com/RealHughJackma… — Hugh Jackman (@RealHughJackman) October 16, 2012 Oh, how Wolverine laughs! Is it too late to turn Wolverine into a K-pop musical? [via @psy_oppa ]

‘X Factor’ Auditions Teased In New Promo

‘It’s more than just a voice. It’s something else,’ Simon Cowell says in the 8-minute promo. By James Dinh Contestant Rachel Crow appears on X-Factor Photo: Fox Promotion for the U.S. version of “X Factor” kicked into high gear on Sunday night when Fox aired a unusually lengthy eight-minute preview of their forthcoming talent competition. The preview gave viewers an early introduction to the judging panel’s insight and some potential audition favorites before the show’s splashing debut on September 21. After a montage introducing all of the panelists — Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger — the TV preview offered viewers a taste of the series’ upcoming auditions. First up was the enthusiastic 13-year-old Rachel Crow, whose bubbly personality shined as bright as her voice. Upon her arrival onstage, the curly-haired student showed no signs of cold feet for what she described as “the most important thing I’ve ever done in my life.” “My family has, like, no money,” the fresh-faced auditioner told Cowell. “And let me tell you, we live in a two-bedroom house, OK? And I have six people in my family, which is a lot of people. And I’m a girl. I need my own bathroom.” After her brief chitchat with the panel, Crow tapped her foot, swayed her hands and delivered a belting rendition of Duffy’s “Mercy.” As you may have guessed, Abdul exuded just as much energy as the big-voiced Crow when she smiled and bobbed her head to the chanting tune. And it wasn’t just Abdul who enjoyed the audition, but also fellow judge L.A. Reid. “You have everything that every artist I’ve ever signed has: feisty, sassy, soulful. You got it all, baby. I love you,” he told her. Cameras soon panned to the backstage reactions from the young girl’s family, who joined together for a group hug. Crow looked in almost disbelief as she questioned her mom about the audition. “Mom, did you see that?” she asked. “X Factor” was also quick to showcase the show’s much-promoted no-age-limit rule when they moved on to the next contestant, 42-year-old single mother Stacy. The youthful-looking singer tearfully recalled the story of meeting someone who disregarded her big dreams, leaving her faith in shambles. “I don’t want to die with this music in me, Simon,” she candidly told the judge onstage, with the microphone clenched with both hands. Shots of the studio audience, who waited to hear whether or not Stacy could deliver, flashed when she began her cover of Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman.” Just a few lines into the tune, Stacy was met with an overwhelming audience cheer and stunned reactions from the judges. “Let me tell you something, Stacy. I’ve done this a long, long time. That was one of the best auditions I have ever heard in my life. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I love you,” Cowell gushed. “X Factor” fans were met with even more eye (and ear) appeasing clips when the preview concluded with a dramatic montage and news of a two-night premiere, which airs September 21 and 22. We can also expect some high-profile guests during the show’s premiere season. Rihanna has signed up to guest-judge on an as-yet-undetermined date, according to TMZ . Audrina Patridge Gets To Play ‘Dress-Up’ On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

‘I’m definitely involved in the design, the colors, textures, cuts,’ former ‘Hills’ star tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Tony Dovolani and Audrina Patridge Photo: ABC If her enthusiastic Twitter feed is any indication, Audrina Patridge and partner Tony Dovolani (also an avid tweeter ) are ready to wow their fans on the “Dancing With the Stars” season premiere Monday night (September 20). When we caught up with the former “Hills” star recently, she told us that, aside from all her sore muscles, she was having a blast getting to know her partner and all his dance techniques. “He is amazing,” she said. “He’s such a great teacher. He’s very professional, and we have a lot of fun together. It’s really fun. I look forward to going to rehearsal every day.” Regarding the challenges she’s faced in learning so many new steps and routines, we wondered whether having to dance in high heels adds to the difficulty. “It’s not that bad, because I’m used to wearing 5- or 6-inch heels,” the stiletto-sporting Patridge said. “The ballroom heels are actually 2 or 2 and a half inches [high]. I had to get to that height, because I’m used to really high heels, so it’s not bad at all.” In addition to Patridge’s fancy footwork, one more thing to pay attention to when you tune into the show’s premiere are her flashy costumes, which she had a hand in designing. “All the costume designers are really good,” Patridge said. “I’m giving them tear sheets and different ideas that I like to inspire each costume, but it really depends on your body and what looks good on each person. I’m definitely involved in the design, the colors, textures, cuts and this and that, so it’s really fun.” When asked if she had a favorite costume yet, complete with the famously flashy ballroom dance accessories — i.e., feathers, sequins and ruffles — Patridge hadn’t decided. “I don’t know yet, because each dance is so different, so it requires a different costume,” she said. “Whether ruffles or fringe, I can’t say, but I love everything. It’s like playing dress-up.” Will you watch Audrina and Tony on “Dancing With the Stars”? Have you picked a favorite couple yet? Let us know in the comments!

‘American Idol’ Judge Kara DioGuardi Talks Ellen, Tension With Simon

‘I felt she had a really good handle on whether a contestant had a potential,’ she says of DeGeneres’ debut. By Eric Ditzian Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi on “American Idol” Photo: Fox “American Idol” Hollywood Week kicked off on Tuesday night (February 9) with a slew of new faces up on the stage and one new face behind the judges’ table. Some singers soared (like Andrew Garcia with his soulful take on Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”), while others crashed and burned (like Vanessa Wolfe and her shaky version of Blind Melon’s “No Rain”). Almost everyone could agree, though, that new judge Ellen DeGeneres rocked out on her “Idol” debut . Count Kara DioGuardi as one of the enthusiastic supporters. “When I was sitting next to her, I felt she had a really good handle on whether a contestant had a potential, whether they had star quality,” she said of Ellen during a conference call with reporters. “She knew if something was off in the vocals or in the performance. I thought she delivered the message with kindness, but also had criticism in there.” DioGuardi was also quick to dismiss rumors of any on-set tension between Ellen and fellow judge Simon Cowell. “I think you have to take any rumor you hear about ‘American Idol’ with a grain of salt — they’re usually not true,” she said. “Last year it was Kara and Paula [Abdul] fighting, hating each other, Kara sits in the corner. These things are just ridiculous. We’re all there to do one thing and that’s to find the greatest contestant, the greatest ‘American Idol’ winner we can find.” The Ellen/Simon contretemps wasn’t the only rumor DioGuardi responded to during the call. She also took a whack at reports that Howard Stern might be replacing Cowell at the judges’ table when he leaves the show at the end of the current season. “I don’t think he has musical background or any kind of music anything,” she said of Stern, clearly unhappy with the possibility. “If you’re going to replace Simon, you have to have that background, you have to be somebody who knows about signing great artists and being a part of their career from the very beginning to the very end. And then there’s perhaps the most talked about element of Tuesday night’s show: the new VitaminWater cups that replaced the long-established Coke cups on the judges’ table. What’s going on? Before being sure to point out that Coca-Cola owns VitaminWater, Kara gave the new cups a sort of Hollywood Week golden ticket. “They were kind of colorful, different,” she laughed. “Everything’s always changing on the show. I kind of just drink from the cup and assume there isn’t poison in it.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Okhotsk Blue

Okhotsk Blue is a Japanese beer made with “water melted from icebergs that float each year onto Hokkaido beaches from the Sea of Okhotsk.” A dash of seaweed gives it the cool, icy blueish tint. I totally want a blue beer right now.
