Please for the love of our ears… 14 NBA Players Contribute To Full Court Press Vol. 1 Rap Album If there is one thing NBA players love more than playing basketball, it’s thinking they can release a viable rap album. There is a video floating around with a great deal of both good and bad news. As always, we delve into the bad first. It’s as simple as NBA stars heading into a recording studio armed with years of basketball training—hardly the correct weaponry to spit rhymes. Yes, some are quite good at the rap game. I will include Stephen Jackson on this short list. But there have also been far too many misses along the way. Not that any of that matters, because in the end, you will be rooting for this album—entitled Full Court Press: Volume 1—to succeed. Slam Online has a little more information on an upcoming album featuring 14 NBA stars and hip-hop veterans like “Rick Ross, Trina, Snoop Dogg, Birdman, The Game, Twista, T-Pain and others.” All proceeds from the album, which has a tentative release date of All-Star Weekend in February 2013, will benefit children in the community looking to receive education in the music business. For the record some of the other ballers trying their damndest to rap spitting hot bars of fire will be Juwan Howard, Baron Davis, Trevor Ariza, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer, Glen Davis, Shawn Marion, Josh Smith and others. Peep the preview below. We agree that this album could raise money for the kids and that is a good thing, but if it sucks it might just convince them to quit music and go to college! Take a look at some of the other ballers that made terrible attempts at stepping behind the mic on the flipside. Images via YouTube/AP

Brown shows off a more polished side on cover art for upcoming album. By Sarah Brotherton Chris Brown Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Fresh off his Grammy win for Best R&B album, Chris Brown announced Thursday (March 1) that his next album, Fortune, will be released May 8. Fans have been waiting for album news since Brown dropped the single “Turn Up the Music” in January followed by a music video the next month, which racked up more than 8 million views in its first week. In addition, Brown’s second single from the album, “Strip,” is rapidly climbing the Urban Radio charts. Brown also revealed the album’s cover art Thursday, showing off a more polished side to #TeamBreezy. Donning a retro-inspired skinny suit, thin black tie and thick black-framed glasses, the cover unveils a more mature, sleek side to the 22-year-old artist. As he stands underneath a bright light shining down on him, the word “Fortune” is collaged behind him in different languages. The road to Brown’s new album release has already been a busy one. With two performances at the Grammys and a surprise appearance at the 2012 NBA All-Star halftime show alongside Pitbull, Breezy has been doing some serious PR leading up to the album drop. Brown has also stirred up some controversy in the past few weeks by lashing out at his detractors following the Grammys, collaborating with ex-girlfriend Rihanna on two remixes after assaulting her just three years ago and allegedly stealing a fan’s iPhone . Fortune is available for pre-order at ChrisBrownWorld.com with a free instant download of “Turn Up the Music,” and the album will hit iTunes for pre-sale April 10. Will you check out Brown’s latest project? Let us know in the comments. Related Artists Chris Brown
Adele is best known for her blockbuster hit, “Rolling in the Deep.” But was the singer once rolling in the hay… on camera? Yes, a French tabloid hilariously claims, as the latest issue of Public is running a cover story that alleges Adele and the ex about whom she penned songs from the album “21” once pulled a Kim Kardashian/Ray J . The magazine even includes photos with the report. In response, Adele has hired Schillings law firm to represent her in a possibly lawsuit against the tabloid. “We are informed that the French magazine Public has today published images which it claims show our client in a sex tape,” one of Adele’s attorney says. “Our client has not appeared in a sex tape as claimed in the article. Our client does not appear in the photographs. Such claims are grossly defamatory. Our client is taking legal action in relation to this matter.” Darn right. In this instance, rumor has it… wrong.
Track is from White’s first solo album, Blunderbuss, due April 24. By James Montgomery Jack White Photo: WireImage Jack White hasn’t exactly been living life outside the public eye since announcing the end of the White Stripes last year, making records with everyone from Tom Jones to the Insane Clown Posse and appearing on (a really pretty excellent) episode of “American Pickers,” to name just a few of his endeavors. And on April 24, he’ll officially add “solo artist” to that r
‘I had to go through a lot of things for me to be able to write the type of things I’m writing now,’ Bow tells ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Bow Wow on “RapFix Live” Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News Bow Wow has grown up in hip-hop, but in order to deliver his upcoming seventh album, Underrated, the Cash Money MC had to go through some real-life experiences. “I feel like with this album, it’s so different, because I had to live life to make this album,” the 24-year old rapper told Sway when he visited “RapFix Live” on Wednesday. “I had to go through a lot of things for me to be able to write the type of things I’m writing now, to understand my fans, to be on the ground level. Not above my people, but right there with my people,” he continued. “I would probably need another three years to live before I can create another one. Just so I could go through different things.” As far as the album title, Bow used it as motivation. “The more and more I kept sayin’ the word ‘underrated,’ I realized how many others of millions of people out there probably tuning in right now who probably feel like they’re underrated,” he said. “I’m sure there is an underground rapper out there who can rap hard and he want his break.” Despite all his platinum plaques and sold-out tours, Bow Wow still feels like he doesn’t get his just due. He hopes that will change once the album drops. Bow recently debuted the first video from the album, for “Sweat” with Lil Wayne , and he has already clocked in collaborations with Lloyd Banks. Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Jadakiss and Meek Mill and still plans to record with Wiz Khalifa. Though there isn’t a concrete release date in place, Bow Wow estimates Underrated will drop in April.
