Florida Gov. Rick Scott Files Lawsuit To Block Votes From Being Counted

The rest is here:

F lorida Gov. Rick Scott is so shook by the possibility of every vote being counted in Florida he filed lawsuits on Sunday “calling for voting machines to be impounded in two Democratic-leaning counties, after accusing his opponents of voter fraud,” according to Vice.com . Sounds like more voter suppression in plain sight. See Also: Andrew Gillum Barely Loses Florida Governor Race By The Slimmest of Margins Vice.com reports, “Scott called on a judge to issue an emergency injunction requiring sheriffs in Broward and Palm Beach counties to impound all voting machines and ballots whenever they’re not being used in the recount — until the end of the recount and any legal action relating to the closely fought race.” Another lawsuit called for “any ballots counted after noon on Saturday to be disregarded, alleging that votes in Broward County were counted after the noon deadline.” How wildly undemocratic and, of course, President Donald Trump agrees. He tweeted this morning, “The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged. An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night!” The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged. An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 12, 2018 Andrew Gillum  at first appeared to have lost Florida’s race for governor to Ron DeSantis . Gillum did concede, but that was a formality. However, now the apparent elusive victory win might still be within reach. On Saturday, Gillum recanted his concession. See his powerful speech below: As of now, Scott is only ahead of Democrat Bill Nelson by 12,000 votes for the Senate race. Georgia’s Brian Kemp Resigns As Secretary of State

Source: Kevin C. Cox / Getty Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brian Kemp is resigning Thursday amid a gubernatorial race that is still too close to call 2 days after the election. His democratic opponent Stacey Abrams has been bringing attention to alleged voter suppression all over the state, and it’s made the high stakes race very ugly. Brian Kemp’s resignation, which effective is at 11:59 a.m. Thursday, comes after he tried to declare victory on the race, but the Abrams team quickly shut that down stating votes were still being counted. We will see how this effects the rest of the race and if this will prompt a runoff. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

An Andrew Gillum Recount Could Be In The Works

A ndrew Gillum ’s historic race for Florida governor may not be over. After conceding defeat on Tuesday night, there’s news of a possible recount. See Also: Andrew Gillum Barely Loses Florida Governor Race By The Slimmest of Margins Gillum’s camp reportedly said there are more votes to be counted that could put the Tallahassee mayor over the top, according to a tweet from April Ryan of American Urban Radio. https://twitter.com/AprilDRyan/status/1060196196948566017 Gillum, who could become Florida’s first African-American governor, came up short Tuesday night by a slim margin of 49.7 percent to 49 percent against his GOP rival Ron DeSantis . In an emotional speech, Gillum apologized to his supporters. “I sincerely regret that I couldn’t bring it home for you,” he said, referring to his campaign slogan. But many said he conceded too soon. I'm not so sure Andrew Gillum should've conceded. It's getting closer & closer. — Shaun King (@shaunking) November 7, 2018 Meanwhile, in another potentially historic race, Democrat Stacy Abrams is calling for a recount in her race for Georgia governor. Her rival, Republican Brian Kemp , won 50.4 percent of the vote to Abrams’ 48.7 percent. A Libertarian candidate received the remaining votes. Under Georgia law, if no candidate wins more than 50 percent of the vote, then the top two vote-getters advance to a runoff election. Abrams could become the first African-American woman governor. In Florida, an automatic recount of all votes is triggered when there’s a lead of less than one half of a percentage. If the margin of victory is under one quarter of a percentage point, a hand recount is ordered. DeSantis won by over 55,000 votes (.68 percent) in the intial vote count–very close to triggering a recount. Uncounted ballots could shake up this race. This story will be updated. Source: David Livingston/Paras Griffin / David Livingston/Paras Griffin Oprah Winfrey made her own little history on Thursday. For the second time in her career, the media mogul endorsed a politician running for office. Her first was Former President Obama and now her second is Stacey Abrams , the Black Democratic candidate running to be Georgia’s next Governor. If Abrams win she will be the first Black woman to do so in American history . The creator of the OWN network, who is also a registered Independent, told a crowd today (Nov 1) at a Cobb County town hall, that she believes in Abrams and believes that she is the future of the state of Georgia. “I am here today because Stacey Abrams cares about the things that matter,” Winfrey told a cheering crowd , citing Abrams’ stance on environmental protection, healthcare and gun control. Adding that Abrams keeps “standing strong for the values that matter to me and the values that matter to Georgians all over this state.” Winfrey added that “if you’re woke just a little bit, you know everyone is not treated equally.” “Georgia, you've been on my mind!” Oprah Winfrey says while participating in a campaign event for Democrat Stacey Abrams. “You all are on the very precipice of a historical election.” https://t.co/an3bkmclCP pic.twitter.com/DM3ZgRQoWT — ABC News (@ABC) November 1, 2018 The 64-year-old 60 Minutes  special correspondent  made sure she let the crowd know that she wasn’t there because she plans on running for President in 2020 or because the Democrats paid her. “I came for myself,” she asserted. “I want to tell you…no one paid for me to come here. No one asked me to come here. I’ve earned the right to think for myself…I don’t want any party and I don’t want any kind of partisan influence telling me what decisions I get to make for myself” “I want to make it very clear,” Oprah Winfrey says while campaigning for Stacey Abrams. “I don't want to run, okay? I'm not trying to test any waters. Don't want to go in those waters.” https://t.co/an3bklUKLh pic.twitter.com/Vy6WkdzgVa — ABC News (@ABC) November 1, 2018 Winfrey also encouraged the women in the audience to vote their values and for politicians that have their best interests in mind. “Vote your values,” she emphasized. “Vote your conscience … the vitriol and the ads, they are designed to confuse and confound you with fear … When you know the right thing, and you can feel it … you can’t be influenced by propaganda and fear.” According to NBC News , Abrams is in a super tight race with her Republican opponent Secretary of State Brian Kemp. Last week,  an NBC News/Marist poll  found that the race is tied, with likely voters favoring Kemp by a 49 percent to 47 percent spread, a number within the poll’s margin of error. However, Abrams has some other serious backup coming in soon too. Former President Obama will be stumping for her on Friday. Andrew Gillium’s Second Debate Against Ron DeSantis Takes On A New Sense Of Urgency

Excerpt from:

E xpect the Republican nominee for Florida governor Ron DeSantis to come out swinging against Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum in their second debate scheduled for Wednesday night. See Also: 5 Takeaways From Andrew Gillum’s Masterful Debate Dismantling Of Ron DeSantis Broward College will host the debate, which starts at 7 p.m. EST. It will be live streamed on WPBF’s website and rebroadcast on C-SPAN for those outside the local viewing area, according to the Sun-Sentinel . My opponent is trying to do everything he can to distract & use smear tactics—but the second debate is tonight & here’s what I’ll be ready to talk about: issues that Floridians care about. I’m running for governor to represent all of them & no distractions can change that. — Andrew Gillum (@AndrewGillum) October 24, 2018 Gillum, who could become the state’s first African-American governor if elected, decidedly out-dueled DeSantis in the first debate on Sunday night. But the Trump-backed candidate has new ammunition to fire at the Tallahassee mayor. Text messages made public on Tuesday about tickets to the Broadway musical Hamilton appear to contradict statements Gillum made during the first debate, the Sun-Sentinel reported . Questions surrounding the source of the tickets are part of an FBI probe into possible Tallahassee government corruption, in which Gillum is reportedly not the target of the investigation. Still, DeSantis used the FBI investigation to attack Gillum at Sunday’s debate. A poll released on Tuesday found that Gillum has a four-point lead over DeSantis, which could help to explain why DeSantis hasn’t hesitated to use race instead of ideas to defeat Gillum. Less than 24 hours after winning the GOP nomination in August, DeSantis blew a racist dog whistle when he warned Florida voters not to “monkey this up” by voting for Gillum. Not long after, white supremacists answered the whistle by sending out racist robocalls. Another series of robocalls attacking Gillum went out during Sunday’s debate. DeSantis has a long history of associating with white nationalists. Ahead of their first debate, Gillum called on DeSantis to stick to the issues. He’s made that request again. The Tallahassee mayor was head and shoulders above DeSantis on policy questions Sunday. For example, Gillum displayed his masterful knowledge on taxes and Medicaid , which are hot button issues for Floridians. Matt Roloff Drops HUGE Hint About Little People, Big World Season 14

We have some good news, Little People, Big World fans: You may not need to say goodbye to Jeremy and Audrey Roloff after all. Back in July, of course, the beloved twosome stunned fans of this TLC series by announcing they would not be returning for Season 14 . Jeremy said in his statement that this decision had actually been reached about a year earlier, telling followers on Instagram: It has been an amazing run, and I can’t say thank you enough to all of you who have watched and supported us along the ride. We have the most loyal fans on TV and we appreciate every one of you. You are what made doing this so fun. We will still be supporting the family as they carry the #LPBW torch onward. This is a decision concerning Audrey and me specifically – the show must go on. And Matt has now confirmed as much: the show WILL be going on. The patriarch tells Soap Dirt that filming for Season 14 is underway, and that viewers likely have actually NOT seen the last of Jeremy and Audrey. Cameras were on hand for Matt’s recent birthday party, for example, and these two were in attendance, so… “that’s a little tip for you there,” Matt said. He explained that Jeremy and Audrey are not on the “filming schedule,” but they are very much around at times and aren’t about to hide from TLC. “They’ll participate in the family events,” he says simply. That’s nice to know, isn’t it? Roloff admitted in this same interview that mentioned that his son and daughter-in-law dropping out of the show was quite a “twist to the whole thing, but TLC decided to go forward. And why not, he continues? “They’ve got Zach and Tori, and Amy and myself” as cast members, even noting “Caryn and Chris” in a reference to his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, and Amy Roloff’s boyfriend, Chris Marek  (below). It sounds as if both will have significant roles on Season 14. As for when new episodes may air? Matt doesn’t know. He says he heard the spring at one point, but it’s possible he and his loved ones may be back on our small screens prior to that. Either way, they remain a huge part of our lives, frequently sharing photos and messages on social media. For example, did you see how the Roloff celebrated the start of pumpking season at their farm this week? Click below to find out!
