As you’ve likely heard by now, Jinger Duggar is expecting her first child . For the most obsessive fans of her famous family, the news of Jinger’s pregnancy was a long time coming. After all, Jinger was married to Jeremy Vuolo for more than a year before she announced that she has a bun in the oven. That timeline might make perfect sense for most people, but Duggar women frequently get knocked up on their honeymoons. Of course, Jinger has always been her family’s resident rebel, as evidenced by the fact that she was the first female of her generation to wear pants in public . (Duggar women are typically limited to floor-length skirts, even while playing sports or engaging in other physical activities.) So it’s not terribly surprising that when it comes to starting a family, Jinger has decided to dance to the beat of her own drummer. And when it comes to parenting advice, she’s also bucking tradition by accepting input from outside her own family. Jinger and Jeremy were in Los Angeles over the weekend for an event called the Shepherds’ Conference, a gathering of male Christian leaders. Jeremy posted the above photo of his wife sitting next to a family friend named Emma Hatter. “‘The days are long, but the years are short.’ Wise words to my beautiful wife from Emma Hatter, a dear member of @gracecomchurch for 50 years,” Jeremy captioned the photo. The quote, from author Gretchen Rubin, was apparently Hatter’s response to Jinger and Jeremy’s request for parenting advice. The words of wisdom have become a popular way of reminding new parents to cherish their time with their young children. Particularly in the era of mobile devices and social media, it can be easy to forget that what really matters is face-to-face time with loved ones. For all their many controversial parenting techniques, the Duggars deserve a tip of the hat for prioritizing family time over screen time. Of course, when you star on a reality show with your parents and siblings, family time often is screen time. Watch Counting On online for more from reality TV’s most controversial clan. We're only five days into the new year, but 2018 has already seen a Duggar baby announcement and a whole slew of courship speculation. We now know that Jinger Duggar is expecting her first child , but that's certainly not the only way in which reality TV's largest family will be expanding in the months to come. Joy-Anna Duggar is also expecting, as is Joseph Duggar's new wife, Kendra Caldwell. And of course, several single Duggars are set to embark on courtship journeys of their own in the months to come. Here's a rundown of who might be next to leave the nest: 1. Jana Duggar The perennial fan favorite. Fans have been hoping for a courtship announcement from Jana for years now. And thanks to her increasingly close “friendship” with Caleb Williams, it seems 2018 will finally be her year. 2. John David Duggar This is another one that wouldn’t come as much of a surprise. In fact, it’s widely believed that John David is already involved in a secret courtship with a woman from Texas. No word on why he might be keeping things on the down-low. 3. The Pressure Is On! Both Jana and John David are no doubt feeling the pressure to announce relationships. The twins will turn 28 this month, and they’re the oldest unmarried Duggars by a considerable margin. 4. Josiah Duggar Many fans believe this is the year that Josiah Duggar will once again try his hand at courtship. Josiah is the only member of his family to enter a relationship that did not result in marriage, having pursued an ill-fated romance with Marjorie Jackson in 2016. 5. A Social Media Loophole Some fans believe Josiah is the next to go a-courtin’, as in many respects, he’s more modern and mature than many of his siblings. Duggars are typically forbidden to have social media accounts until they enter a formal courtship. However, Josiah has maintained an Instagram page despite the fact that his relationship with Jackson has come to en end, leading many to believe that he’s using it to keep in touch with potential mates. 6. Jedediah Duggar Smart money is on Jedediah Duggar announcing a courship in 2018. As many fans have pointed out, he was likely already involved in a romantic relationship that went awry. If you’ve enjoyed her many bonkers interviews over the years (some of which, to our minds, are every bit as entertaining as her funniest film roles), then you’re likely aware that Jennifer Lawrence loves alcohol and reality television. So it’s not surprising that J-Law might have a bit of a thing for Kourtney Kardashian sperm donor and bold innovator in the use of facial hair to camouflage booze bloat, Scott Disick. On second thought, it is surprising, but only in the sense that we’re shocked Scott is still alive. Anyway, Jen revealed her love for the Lord in a recent interview with Oprah, in which she revealed that Scott would be one of her three ideal dinner guests. (The other two were Luann DeLesseps and Bethenny Frankel, both of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. Jen … we’re concerned.) Given that Jen chose Scott over any of the women in the Kardashian clan, it’s not surprising that certain tabloids already have these two bedding down together. It’s also not surprising that some of these same publications are casting Kourtney in the role of the insane ex: According to the Australian version of OK! magazine (because why wouldn’t news about three American celebs reach Sydney first?), Kourtney is pissed about the possibility of Jen and Scott hooking up. In fact, Kourt has reportedly warned Lawrence to keep her mitts off her boozy baby daddy. The subtly-titled piece “Kourtney Warns J. Law: Stay Away From Scott!” doesn’t offer anything in the way of quotes or evidence, and instead poses an argument along the lines of “makes sense if ya think about it.” The article also doesn’t mention the fact that Kourtney is dating Younes Bendjima . Or that Scott is with Sofia Richie . Or that Jen was clearly joking, and her ideal dinner party would really just consist of Meryl Streep playing three different roles. Look, we believe Jen when she says she genuinely enjoys Keeping Up With the Kardashians (though it’s worth noting that she’s said she watches the show “to fall asleep.” Celebrities–they’re as bored with the Kardashians as the rest of us!). But there’s a difference between enjoying a reality show and wanting to enmesh yourself in that world. We like watching Naked and Afraid , but the thought of a single genital mosquito is enough to keep us inside for the bulk of 2018. Hey, if the mere mention of Scott Disick doesn’t bring to mind a bloodsucker who will spread disease to your nether regions, then you’re not sufficiently wary of the Lord. Earlier this week, the world learned that Kendra Caldwell is pregnant with Joseph Duggar’s baby. As is always the case with Duggar baby news, the announcement was greeted with enthusiasm from the family’s devoted fan base–but it also reminded many of a mystery that continues to grow with the passage of time: It’s been over a year since Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo got married , and yet the couple remains childless. As the pregnancies of Kendra Caldwell and Joy-Anna Duggar have recently reminded us, this is highly unusual in Jinger’s family. (Kendra and Joy both announced that they’re expecting within a few months of tying the knot. Some believe that Joy didn’t even wait until she was married .) Thus far, all of Jinger’s sisters have gotten pregnant within a year of getting married, and some have even given birth prior to their one-year anniversary. So it’s not hard to see why fans are growing increasingly curious about Jinger and Jeremy’s apparent reluctance to start a family. Some have even gone so far as to suggest that Jinger is on birth control . Like wearing pants as a woman or marrying a man whose religious beliefs don’t perfectly coincide with your father’s, using birth control is no big deal throughout most of the civilized world, but these are the Duggars we’re talking about. They’re civilized in the sense that they sleep indoors and use silverware, but they’d be the first to tell you that their belief system bears little in common with the average American’s code of conduct. Birth control is strictly forbidden in the Duggars’ world, and Jim Bob and Michelle have even recorded videos in which they preach about its evils. Jinger may rebel against her parents’ teachings in small, mostly inconsequential ways (see the aforementioned wearing of pants), but finding out that she’s using birth control would likely push Jim Bob and Michelle over the edge. Fortunately, for the most part, Duggar fans have proven to be uncharacteristically level-headed with regard to this issue. Recently, the Duggars posted a photo of Jeremy and Jinger on their Facebook page, and the comments section quickly devolved into the usual flurry of uterine speculation. But for every “fan” throwing shade, there were three getting Jinger’s back: “Jinger raised kids all her life, she might not want kids or she just wants to wait,” one commenter wrote. “Maybe they’re not waiting, maybe she’s having trouble conceiving. Give the poor girl a break, when she’s pregnant they’ll announce it,” remarked another. “I think these two are being smart and will choose to have children on their own timetable,” a third wrote. Is it possible that Duggar fans are beginning to let go of their judgmental tendencies a bit? Maybe, but many of these same people will likely lose it if 2018 passes without any baby news from Jinger. Watch Counting On online for more on reality TV’s most controversial family. There’s only so long one side can have the upper hand in the war. That was the biggest takeaway from The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 8 which picked up in the immediate aftermath of Negan’s team managing to overthrow the walkers at the Sanctuary. Rick realized that there was about to be a whole lot of pushback from the villains, but before he got lost in his thoughts, Carol and Jerry conveniently picked up, and they got ready to find a way to save themselves. Everyone in Alexandria had no idea that Negan managed to get the upper hand, so things seemed to be going well for them. That all changed when Negan showed up and started yelling expletives through a megaphone. He told the Alexandrians to form a line outside their homes, and he would spare the person who was the sorriest about everything that happened. He threatened to bomb their homes if they did not follow his orders, and destroy the whole compound. Maggie was worried about the Saviors being there because she knew they would not come in peace. But Maggie knew straight away that something was not right when a tree was conveniently cut down to block the path back to the compound. That’s when a group of Saviors appeared and made it known that Negan was back and in charge. Carl sprung into action and tried to save all the Alexandrians he could because he knew that things were going to get worse with Negan back in power. Carl said he wanted to be the one to die for the sins of the past, but things took a turn when the bombs started exploding, and everyone worried about what was coming next. Dwight led a group of Saviors right to Daryl, Michonne, Tara, and Rosita, before turning the gun on his people to prove to the others he was the. The same drama was playing out at the Kingdom, and Ezekiel set off an explosion to lay waste to the place before the villains could take up residence. Maggie went into full-blown killer mode back at Hilltop and killed the Savior who had an answer for everything. Dwight tried to get Daryl to keep him as part of the group, or he would be killed, but Daryl only took notice when Dwight revealed that Eugene was the one who saved the Saviors. At the conclusion, Rick and Negan fought it out, but Rick realized it was too late and made off to meet with Michonne. The final portion of the episode found Carl being struck down with a zombie bite. Yes, the kid is dying! View Slideshow: The Walking Dead Cast: Before They Were Stars…
This week’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians featured Kimberly coming to the decision to have a third child via surrogate. It was a decision that carried many mixed emotions. First off, how did she come to choose her surrogate? “Finding someone you really trust is really more difficult than you can imagine,” she said of the still-anonymous young woman. “It was maybe a year before we finalized [that].” Kim gushed that the woman entrusted with carrying her child – who is 100% Kim and Kanye’s, genetically – is just “such a nice person.” “Like, she’s so easy to talk to. This particular surrogate, she was the best fit for my family so we just had to go with it and try one embryo.” Additionally, Kim revealed that an implanted embryo from a fertility procedure before her pregnancy with son Saint, now 2, was lost: “One didn’t work with me. I tried it and I lost one.” Sister Khloe then opened up about this, too. “Before Kimberly got pregnant with Saint,” Khloe said, “she had an embryo implanted in her and that embryo did not take.” “So Kim is super nervous and anxious.” Understandably so, but it appears that this time frame has passed, as later, she told her family, “We’re having a baby. A girl.” “I definitely want to keep it private. I don’t want people to find my surrogate. I don’t want people following her, chasing her.” “I really trust my surrogate,” though, she said: “I’m not trying to control her every move.” Not all is well with her inner circle, however, as Kim revealed that her relationship with Stephanie Shepherd wasn’t always amicable. The duo remain close following Shepherd’s firing as Kim’s assistant this year, but it’s clear there is some bad blood lingering. As Kim went on to discuss the pair’s up and down history, she confessed to Kourtney in an off-hand remark, “I hated Steph.” Later in the episode, Kourtney finally confirmed her relationship to Younes Bendjima to Khloe, following a little bit of teasing. Kourtney explained her reluctance to talk about the romance on the show, even as her sister prodded her, on the show. She said, “I don’t feel like sitting and airing my business. I’m not using it on the show. I don’t feel like I need to expose.” Fair enough. View Slideshow: Younes Bendjima Photos: Meet Kourtney Kardashian’s Boy Toy!
Ever since Jinger Duggar married Jeremy Vuolo , fans have been eagerly awaiting an announcement that the newlyweds are expecting their first child. More than a year later, however, there’s still no official word on the matter. Of course, that hasn’t stopped fans from combing through the couple’s social media posts in search of clues. The Vuolos latest pics show them enjoying the unexpected snowfall in Laredo, Texas over the weekend. While the focus of the photos is meant to be the weather, fans have mostly zeroed in on two other details: For one thing, Jinger is wearing pants , thus still defying the strict dress code under which she was raised. Even more than her legwear, however, followers are obsessed with what they believe is the first official glimpse of Jinger’s baby bump . Granted, this isn’t the first time that Duggar fans have claimed to have spotted a sure sign that Jinger is expecting, but a video posted by Jeremy offers the most compelling evidence yet: Jinger Duggar: Baby Bump Revealed? Jeremy captioned the clip, “The weather outside is frightful.” But again, it’s not the weather that’s caught fans’ attention. As you can see, Jinger seems to be moving … well, gingerly. She also appears to be protecting her midsection, and at one point she rubs her belly. Sure, she’s not wearing a t-shirt that says, “Baby on Board,” but at this point, fans will take whatever “evidence” they can find. Even the fact that Jinger is wearing sweatpants is being cited as proof that she’s expecting. Jinger has been wearing pants and even shorts for several months now, but they’re usually more stylish and form-fitting than the sweatpants she sported this week. The style decision may simply be a response to the weather, but don’t tell that to the hundreds of fans who are basically taking these posts as a pregnancy announcement. At this point, if and when Jinger does reveal that she’s got a bun in the oven, the reveal will almost feel anti-climactic. Almost. Of all of the reality star families on television, few – if any – are more controversial than the Duggar family of Tontitown, Arkansas. They’re so controversial, in fact, that 19 Kids & Counting was cancelled years ago. Yet most of the clan still appears on Counting On . Since last season ended, there’s been no official word of renewal, and no shortage of scandals involving the Duggars, making us wonder: Has TLC finally canceled Counting On ? The Duggars were always going to be controversial, from rearing 19 children to their extreme views of the world in which they are raised. Yet those same unorthodox rules and lifestyle guidelines are what made 19 Kids and Counting such a talked about series in the first place. The supervised “courtships” and side-hugs, Michelle’s hair, and again the very concept of having 19 children made the Duggars interesting. Many watched and appreciated how they clung to their religious and moral convictions. Others watched with more concern and fascination. Realizing that there are people in the US whose children are forced to grow up this way, isolated from mainstream society, some grew alarmed. None of that is what got 19 Kids and Counting taken off the air, however. Back in 2015, 19 Kids and Counting was canceled by TLC. That happened because Josh Duggar molested five little girls, including his own sisters. One of those sisters was only five years old . And Jim Bob and Michelle had covered it up. So, suddenly, Counting On became the vehicle for the Duggars to espouse their worldviews … without Josh, of course. And, initially, without Jim Bob and Michelle, though they have made occasional appearances on the rebooted version. While it returned to the airwaves and the more salacious scandals died down, Counting On hasn’t exactly been scandal-free, either. We don’t just mean Duggar daughters wearing pants or Joy-Anna Duggar’s very probably shotgun wedding or Jill Duggar’s nose piercing , either. We mean actual scandals. Like the one that got Derick Dillard fired from Counting On after a series of comments he made, of his own volition, and on his own time. Derick and Jill had been slammed multiple times for shadily begging fans for money to help with their already controversial “mission trips.” But what got Derick Dillard fired by TLC was his ongoing, one-sided feud with fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. Jazz is a teenage star of her own series, I Am Jazz . What stuck in Derick’s craw was that Jazz is trans, and he feels “transgender is a myth.” An odd thing to say about a teenage girl who literally exists. It’s also the kind of statement that leads to real-world violence against trans women. Just the same, Derick continued to attack Jazz over social media and to misgender her at every opportunity, until finally TLC had enough. The question remains: will Derick Dillard’s firing – the network made it clear he won’t be back – lead to the cancellation of the entire series? Even two and a half years later, Josh Duggar scandal hasn’t actually gone away, except (apparently) in the minds of the Duggars. Counting On has had six seasons. But we don’t know if there will be a seventh, and based on recent events, it’s looking doubtful. The Inquisitr reports that TLC posted that Counting On had been renewed … only to immediately delete the post. That’s a clue … but of renewal for season seven, or of cancellation? No one knows, although there are theories. It may be that TLC intended to release the renewal announcement for the show, and accidentally posted it early. That happens sometimes when you’re scheduling a post for a future date, either on a webpage or social media. It may also be the case that TLC had scheduled a renewal post a while back … and then forgotten to cancel it when they changed their minds. The Duggars have posted on their own family blog that they don’t yet know if they’re getting renewed. Which means that no one outside of TLC knows. View Slideshow: Duggar Family: Secrets of Their Twisted Ministry Revealed The fact that TLC hasn’t openly declared whether the Duggars are getting the axe or a renewal is probably a sign that TLC may still be weighing their options. They’ve already looked at ratings, so there must be other factors that they’re considering. Perhaps things of which the public isn’t even aware. Our guess is that higher-ups are either still mulling it over … or they’ve decided to cancel Counting On and are waiting for the right time to drop the news. Perhaps back-to-back with another announcement? Or perhaps over the holidays? We’ll let you know as soon as we find out, but things are looking grim for fans of the Duggars. Weddings are complicated. You have to pick the date, the venue, the menu, the seating arrangement, the decorations, the cake, … Oh, and which million-dollar deal you’ll make for your wedding to also be a TV special. That’s what Cardi B and her new fiance, Offset, are trying to decide. We know that they say that your average little girl grows up dreaming about her wedding day, which says a lot about how weirdly people socialize their children. But the actual planning of your wedding doesn’t usually happen until you’re engaged. And even then, unless you’re part of the Duggar fertility cult or something like that, those “plans” usually take the form of vague notions during your engagement. Not so for Cardi B and Offset, it seems. Cardi B, of course, is the rapper whose smash hit, “Bodak Yellow,” managed to upset Taylor Swift’s domination of the music world. Offset might sound like a name out of The Handmaid’s Tale , but he’s actually a hip-hop artist. And he’s now engaged to Cardi B, having proposed to her just last week. (Proposing to her while her career is at its height — good for them, you know?) On Friday night, Offset got down on one knee and proposed to Cardi B. They were on stage at the Philly Powerhouse performance. Even though Cardi B had briefly posted that she was “single” just a week before revising that, she said yes. Some fans are concerned. For one thing, Offset might be trying to boost his career by latching onto hers. Her career, in the meantime, might suffer. For another, public proposals are actually super creepy — unless you talk about them in advance. The genuine surprise proposals made in the middle of a restaurant or on stage or in front of friends and family … those often feel like the one who planned it is blackmailing the other person into saying yes, for politeness’ sake. Not everyone who does something like that is trying to be manipulative, of course, but there are some men who know what they’re doing when they pull that move. Finally, fans are a little alarmed that a relationship that had briefly seemed over the previous week had suddenly become an engagement. Regardless, though, a Cardi B wedding is going to be a big deal. TMZ reports that a Cardi B and Offset wedding special is being pursued by VH1, BET, and WE tv. Apparently, each network is vying to win a chance to turn the couple’s future wedding into a TV special. The potential entertainment value for these channels and for their viewers is obvious. For Cardi B and Offset? They could be making a deal worth as much as $1 million. They’ll have to decide which network — if any — they want poking around their special day. There’s a lot to consider. But … that’s a great situation to be in, right? First of all, that’s an amazing deal. The inconvenience of cameras is no big deal compared to getting paid as much as seven figures for doing something that you can do anyway. Also, weddings are pretty darn expensive. Celebrity weddings even more so. A big payday for a special like this could really make a difference. In fact, you might even say that the cost of this couple’s wedding might be … offset . (Sorry)
Back in November of 2016, Jinger Duggar married Jeremy Vuolo in front of 1,500 of her closest friends and relatives. Now, as they approach their one-year anniversary, the young couple is still going strong. But while Jinger has developed into the same sort of doting wife as her mother and older sisters, she’s also undergone a number of other changes that no one in her family would have ever predicted. These days, Jinger is known as her family’s resident rebel. And while her acts of defiance may seem incredibly tame to those of us outside of Tontitown, Arkansas, within Jinger’s inner circle, there’s been much fretting and pearl-clutching over the 23-year-old’s apparent disinterest in following in the footsteps of the other women in her family. Jinger’s most obvious form of rebellion has been the rejection of her family’s strict dress code. Before Jinger got hitched, all of Jim Bob and Michelle’s daughters continued to wear below-the-knee skirts at all times (even while playing sports or engaging in other outdoor activities) even after leaving the house. Jinger not only wears pants , she’s been known to rock shorts on occasion and short (by Duggar standards) skirts: That’s a photo that Jinger uploaded on Instagram this week, and while her hemline might fall a little higher than her parents would like, it’s a much more subtle form of rebellion that has fans talking. Jinger captioned the photo with lyrics from the 1965 song “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole: “L is for the way you look at me O is for the only one I see V is very, very extraordinary E is even more than anyone that you adore can,” she wrote. Sure, it’s not like Jinger is quoting Cardi B, but many longtime Duggar obsessives are still taken aback by her choice of song. Why? Well, Jinger’s family generally eschews all forms of secular music. Those familiar with the Duggars’ belief system say that non-religious music isn’t expressly forbidden, but note that young people are “strongly discouraged” to stick with hymns, and even Christian rock is considered potentially problematic. “A song other then church music? Jinger u rebel!!” wrote one Instagram follower on Jinger’s photo. “Gasp you’ve heard of this song?” commented another. Like we said, Jinger’s not exactly scrawling Slayer lyrics on her walls in goat’s blood-red paint, but she’s still sending a message that the life she plans to live is not the one her parents mapped out for her.
