Chris Brown’s Restraining Order Modified

In a downtown Los Angeles court on Tuesday, a judge altered the restraining order imposed upon the singer following his brutal beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna after a 2009 pre-Grammy Awards party. The restraining order has been replaced by a “level one order.” Brown, who was in court with his attorney Mark Geragos, is now allowed to be around Rihanna, provided he abides by certain conditions. “I’m approving the order,” Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown, according to Radar Online . “You can’t annoy, molest, or conduct surveillance of the person on the order.” Rihanna was not present in the courtroom, but her lawyer, Donald Etra, was. “I have spoken with my client, and she does not object to it being modified to a level one order,” he said. It’s been just over two years since the assault, which resulted in Brown being ordered to stay at least 50 feet away from Rihanna. Brown pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to five years probation and more than 1400 hours of “labor-oriented service.” In November, Schnegg praised Brown for his progress since his initial sentencing. “Of all probationers I’ve ever had, and I’ve had thousands of probationers, no one has ever done a better or more consistent job than you have,” the judge said at a progress hearing, and on Tuesday, she spoke positively of Brown’s participation in domestic violence counseling. Lindsay Lohan to Charlie Sheen: Good Decision!

We’re not sure what her praise means, considering her own track record, but at least the message is positive, one troubled star reaching out to another. Lindsay Lohan believes Charlie is currently in the midst of a “life or death situation” and is “thrilled” that Sheen checked into rehab , according to TMZ. Sources report that Lindsay had been “worried” about Sheen because his most recent bender and hospitalization show “obvious signs of addiction.” Hey, she would know from experience. After Sheen decided to check himself into a treatment center Friday, Lindsay is confident he can get his life back together – if he’s committed to it. Lohan knows the pitfalls the wrong hangers-on can bring and “wants Charlie to understand he must surround himself with positive, sober people.” We’re guessing Kacey Jordan , Melanie Rios and Capri Anderson don’t qualify. It’s worth nothing that Lohan has been sober for months now, though there was the small matter of that fight in rehab over a drug test. Details. What do you think: Can Charlie get clean?

Chris Brown Wants Rihanna Restraining Order Lifted

Chris Brown is looking to get the restraining order against him lifted. It’s been in place since he pummeled Rihanna senseless prior to the 2009 Grammys. His lawyer, Mark Geragos, told Judge Patricia Schnegg that Brown did 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and requested that the order be lifted . “It makes it difficult at award shows and such,” Geragos said. GOOD DAYS : Now other guys take and leak Rihanna topless pics . Shame . Judge Schnegg did not immediately grant his request but did suggest a modification of it, pending the approval of Rihanna’s attorney, David Etra. The decision to modify the restraining order will be filed in court at a later date. The judge did praise Brown again for his commitment, however. In fact, she was so pleased, she told Brown that he can come in “next time you’re in town” instead of scheduling a future progress report hearing. To date, Brown has done 581 hours of community labor and domestic violence counseling. Aside from the occasional Raz B feud , he’s been great. He remains on probation through mid-2014.

By Mawuse Ziegbe Chris Brown arrives at the courthouse for his hearing on Thursday Photo: Mark Ralston/AFP/Getty Images Chris Brown continues to score praise as he completes the terms of his probation for his much-publicized assault of ex-girlfriend Rihanna. On Thursday (November 18), the singer attended a progress-report hearing in Los Angeles, which was live-streamed by TMZ , in which Judge Patricia Schnegg lavished praise on the “Deuces” crooner. “Of all probationers I’ve ever had, and I’ve had thousands of probationers, no one has ever done a better or more consistent job than you have,” Schnegg said. “And I really want to commend you for taking responsibility, and for actually working diligently to complete all of the things the court has required of you.” Judge Schnegg also remarked that Brown has finished 581 hours of community labor and only has seven more domestic-violence counseling sessions to complete. Brown has another hearing scheduled for January 28 for what Schnegg called one of the last times she plans to see him in court. “You’ve done a very good job,” Schnegg said of Brown’s progress. Schnegg’s praise is consistent with other hearings in which the singer has received a positive progress assessment . Brown, wearing a striped cardigan and dark tie, was mostly silent throughout the brief hearing, nodding occasionally at Schnegg’s comments. Under the terms of Brown’s five-year probation sentence in 2009, the singer is responsible for 180 days of community labor and required to attend domestic-violence counseling for up to one year. He was also issued a stay-away order by the judge that bars him from communicating or associating with Rihanna. Brown’s career has been going well since his last August hearing as well. The singer’s Tyga-assisted collabo “Deuces” topped the charts, and he premiered the dance-driven video for the club-friendly record “Yeah 3X.” Related Photos Rihanna And Chris Brown: A Photo Timeline Related Artists Chris Brown
