#SignKaep: Colin Kaepernick Could Potentially End Up Playing For THIS NFL Team And Here’s Why

Source: MediaNews Group/Contra Costa Times via Getty Images / Getty Colin Kaepernick’s Predicts Which NFL Team Might Sign Him Now that Colin Kaepernick has a secured what most believe to be a multi-million dollar bag from the NFL in his collusion settlement, he can get back to the business of being a football player. That is if a team is willing to sign him. Let Kaep’s lawyer Mark Geragos tell it, there are at least three teams who might want #7’s services: ESPN agreed with Geragos, but was even more specific about the potential for Kaep to end up signed to the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton is having shoulder surgery for the second time in three years, his recovery time is unknown. Having a capable back-up like Kaepernick would be clutch. What about the potential backlash from the mildewed MAGA Panther fans? Well, the team has already signed Kaep’s former kneeling teammate Eric Reid. Obviously, Reid isn’t the lightning rod that Colin is, but he certainly was a good litmus test for owners to gauge fan reaction. We’re not holding our breath in hopes that NFL owners do what’s right, but quarterbacks aren’t growing on trees?

Coincidence??? Colin Kaepernick Mural Destroyed In Atlanta Just Days Before Super Bowl

Source: Michael Tran/FilmMagic / Getty Now isn’t this convenient… Colin Kaepernick Mural Destroyed In Atlanta A mural dedicated to Colin Kaepernick in Atlanta was conveniently demolished during Super Bowl weekend. An abandoned building on the corner of Atlanta’s Fair Street and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard that featured a Kaepernick mural was torn down just days before today’s Big Game. The mural which was widely popular and dubbed “Kaeplanta” showed Colin Kaepernick wearing an Atlanta Falcons jersey and standing next to Muhammad Ali who was dressed as T’Challa in Black Panther. The artist behind the mural Fabian Williams spoke with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and expressed his disappointment. Moreover, he wondered about the coincidental timing of a mural of a former NFL star who kneeled in protest during the national anthem, being torn down during Super Bowl LIII weekend. “I figured at some point they would tear the building down, but it has been sitting up this whole time,” Williams said. “The fact that the Super Bowl happens here and the weekend when the festivities are gearing up, the building gets demolished is very odd.” We’d have to agree—why NOW is the building being torn down??? Fabian’s since responded with an artistic movement. Instead of watching today’s big game, he and his muralist friends are painting Kaepernick murals all around the city. He’s deemed the cause #Kaeperbowl and he’s accepting donations for the 7 murals he personally plans to do himself. Right on. We stand with #Kaeperbowl.

After Colin Kaepernick kneeled to highlight police brutality against people of color and never got hired people vowed boycott the NFL. Well that boycott has ran deep for many celebrities. Allegedly the NFL asked Rihanna to perform at the Super Bowl but she declined due to the Kaepernick/ kneeling controversy.  Apparently the NFL struggled to find someone after asking Rihanna because most artists didn’t want any parts of the controversy. The NFL finally got Maroon 5 to commit to the big game but they need special guests to appear during the set. Well it’s official rapper Travis Scott has signed on to join the pop group on the main stage. He’s been honored by several institutions and organizations for lending his voice and resources to overcome issues faced by the Black community. Colin Kaepernick received Harvard’s prestigious W.E.B. Du Bois medal on Thursday for his tireless protests of police brutality and racial inequality. https://t.co/xylKxRtVHG — HuffPost BlackVoices (@blackvoices) October 12, 2018 The medal is awarded to individuals who are fierce advocates for human rights and who have contributed to shaping Black culture, the news outlet writes. Kaepernick joins a list of legends who have received the award in the past, including the late Muhammad Ali and Maya Angelou . While accepting the award, Kaepernick recounted interacting with a high school football team during his travels around the country. “One of the young brothers says, ‘We don’t get to eat at home, so we’re going to eat on this field.’ That moment has never left me. And I’ve carried that everywhere I went,” he said, according to the news outlet. “I feel like it’s not only my responsibility but all our responsibilities as people that are in positions of privilege, in positions of power, to continue to fight for them and uplift them, empower them. Because if we don’t, we become complicit in the problem.” Amongst the other individuals who were honored included Bryan Stevenson , Florence Ladd , and Dave Chappelle . Kaepernick has won several awards for his brave decision to stay dedicated to what he believed in even though it impacted his career. Earlier this year, Amnesty International, a global human rights organization, awarded Kaepernick its 2018 Ambassador of Conscience Award. “This is an award that I share with all of the countless people throughout the world combating the human rights violations of police officers, and their uses of oppressive and excessive force,” he said during his acceptance speech. Colin Kaepernick’s Collusion Case Against NFL Goes Forward

Source: Patricia Schlein/WENN.com / WENN Colin Kaepernick has been fighting to have his collusion case against the NFL move to a trial and that wish has been fulfilled. The arbitrator in the matter ruled in favor of the free agent quarterback after all 32 teams in the league failed to support why they should receive a summary judgment against Kaepernick and thus taking the case to be heard before a judge. Sports Illustrated reports : The technical reason for Burbank’s ruling is that the NFL and its teams failed to convince Burbank, a law professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, that they had met the necessary standard for summary judgment. Under Article 17 of the CBA, Burbank would have granted summary judgment if Kaepernick hadn’t shown enough evidence sufficient to raise a genuine issue of material fact. The “genuine issue” is whether the 30-year-old Kaepernick has been victimized by collusion, which in this context refers to two or more teams, or the league and at least one team, conspiring to deprive Kaepernick of his collectively bargained right to sign with a team. Kaepernick, who earlier in his career led the 49ers to a division championship and a Super Bowl appearance, contends that teams have conspired to keep him out of the NFL. They have allegedly done so on account of the controversy surrounding his kneeling during the playing of the national anthem. A key element of Kaepernick’s argument is that owners are fearful about the capacity and the willingness of President Donald Trump—an ardent critic of Kaepernick and of other players who kneel during the anthem—to damage the league’s business and legal interests. Such a concern was documented in audio recordings of owners during an October 2017 meeting that centered on Kaepernick and the national anthem. This same concern resurfaced in June 2018 when Trump rescinded a White House invitation to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on account of his perception that Eagles players disagreed with him on the anthem (in reality, not one player on the Eagles kneeled during their Super Bowl season). The outlet adds that if Burbank can prove 14 or more teams categorically denied Kaepernick an opportunity to play, the NFL’s player union can band together and call for an end to the current collective bargaining agreement. — Photo: WENN

Revolutionary Reading: Knee-Bending Baller Colin Kaepernick Is Shopping A Book Deal

Image via Michael Zagaris/San Francisco 49ers/Getty Images Colin Kaepernick Shopping A Book To Publishers Colin Kaepernick might not have a job in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean he’s not about his paper. Literally. According to PageSix , Colin is taking meetings with publishers to shop a deal for his new book. Details about the book are being kept close to the vest, but we can imagine that Colin isn’t going to hold back about everything from his reaction to being white-balled from the NFL to the idea he has about helping the community and everything in between. What do you think Colin should title his book?

The 4:44 rapper took the stage with Damian Marley to perform their single “Bam” while rocking a “Colin K” jersey inscribed with his large number seven on the back (homage to Kaepernick’s time on the field). Although he didn’t take a knee, as many predicted, JAY-Z’s wardrobe choice was a clever salute Kaepernick’s noble “take a knee” stance against police brutality and racial inequality (a move that many believe led him to being blackballed by the NFL.) Just a couple of weeks ago, the rapper gave Kap a shout out on stage at the MEadows Festival. “I want to dedicate this song to Colin Kaepernick tonight,” Jay Z said before performing “The Story of O.J.” “I want to dedicate this song to anyone that was held back and you overcame.” Since Kaepernick began to protest during the national anthem last year, there has been a huge wave of controversy as other players have followed suit. Through it all, Kaepernick has stood his ground. “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” he told NFL Media in 2016. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.” IMAGE CREDIT: Getty/Twitter
