Lindsay Lohan has been cast as a love interest for Charlie Sheen on his FX hit Anger Management . The actress will play herself in an episode of the show. Lohan will reportedly engage in a romantic relationship with Sheen’s character after becoming his therapy patient, which is hilarious for two reasons: Scary Movie 5 Trailer Charlie and Lindsay worked together on Scary Movie 5 , during which she was reportedly repulsed by sharing a love scene with him. Sheen reportedly gave the cash-strapped star A HUNDRED GRAND to help with her massive tax problems , and she never even said thanks. “I’m still waiting for a text to say, ‘Thank you.’ Anything, you know?” Charlie later said of his six-figure attempt to “pay it forward” to his co-star. Nothing says thanks like a ratings boost?

Naomi Watts Oscars Dress: Stunning, Even For Liev Schreiber

Naomi Watts’ dress at the Academy Awards was a real head-turner. The British-Australian beauty always carries herself with unmatched, understated elegance, the kind that makes her a natural fit to play Princess Diana. She LITERALLY took our breaths away (and nearly shut down Twitter) last night, though, in a gray Armani gown with an off-center cut along the bust-line Even her longtime partner Liev Schreiber had to document this: How did Naomi Watts’ gown compare to with some of the other fashion standouts of the night, such as Jessica Chastain , Kristen Stewart and Kerry Washington ? Take a look after the jump and share your comments: Follow the link for our full Academy Awards gallery !

Venice Opener The Reluctant Fundamentalist Takes On Culture Clash

Indian-born filmmaker Mira Nair said that 9/11 formed part of the inspiration for her latest film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist , which kicked off the Venice Film Festival Wednesday evening. Just days before the attacks, Nair won the festival’s top prize, the Golden Lion, for her much praised Monsoon Wedding and she left the fabled Italian city for the Toronto International Film Festival to promote the film when the attacks happened. Like other New York residents, she was stranded in the Canadian city following the tragic event, taking her a week to get back to NYC and her husband and son. When she did make it back, she felt an “otherness” in the post-9/11 period, a theme she explores in her latest feature. “It was quite shocking when I got back because it felt like images I had seen in my part of the world, refugee camps, helicopters, a sense of war, a war zone, and it was in our backyard,” she said in Venice Wednesday as reported by A.P. “And so suddenly, (New York) became a place where people who looked like us were ‘the other.’ And that was painful, and that was also part of the inspiration to try to make this film.” Based on the novel by Mohsin Hamid, British-born musician and actor Riz Ahmed plays Changez a gifted financial analyst whose allegiance to America is questioned following the 9/11 attacks. Changez travels to the Pakistani city of Lahore re-connecting with his routes. Liev Schreiber plays a journalist who interviews him in Lahore as a kidnapping crisis rages. Kate Hudson plays his girlfriend and Kiefer Sutherland plays his former Wall Street mentor in NYC flashback scenes. “[The novel is] essentially a dialogue between East and West,” Nair said in Venice. “”We all know there has been an enormous schism, a wall between East and West, since, in this last decade. So I sought very much in the dialogue between America and the Islamic world in The Reluctant Fundamentalist to really bring some sense of bridge-making, some sense of healing, a sense of community that goes beyond the stereotypes, goes beyond the myopia, goes beyond the ignorance.” [ Source: A.P. ]

The World’s Shortest Interview With Matthew Morrison

Last night, Fox hosted a party in Pasadena for the TCA Press Tour and nearly all of the Glee cast members stopped by (except for — cough, cough — Lea Michele). It was a feeding frenzy for the nation’s television journalists and when Matthew Morrison appeared at the event, like Fox-branded chum being thrown into violent waters, he was immediately swarmed by critics wielding tape recorders. Movieline braved the chaos and came out with the world’s shortest interview with Matthew Morrison ever. Enjoy, though be warned: White-rapping was discussed.

REVIEW: Helen Hunt, Ensemble Deal With Every Day Struggles

Garrett, the crass, crabby showrunner played by Eddie Izzard in Every Day , has a refrain meant to inspire the stable of television writers who script his Gray’s Anatomy -ish show: Shock me. Shock me Jaded and suffering from character arc exhaustion, Garrett is meant to be a joke and he is: Incest, bestiality, and public sex (ideally with a hooker who has AIDS ) are his idea of fresh and new; the craven, ratings-mongering type he embodies wouldn’t pass his own smell test.
