Deadliest Catch Boat Capsizes, Three Crew Members Found Dead

Deadliest Catch Captain Keith Colburn has taken to social media in order to acknowledge the three crew members lost in the Mary B II capsizing on Tuesday night. Earlier this week, this crab fishing vessel – which had been featured on Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove – crashed in the Yaquina Bay bar in Newport, Oregon. Three people died in the accident. “My sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of the Mary B II,” Colburn wrote on social media in response to the tragedy. The Mary B II asked for a Coast Guard escort while crossing the bar, which is when the three fisherman went into the water. The victims have since been identified as James Lacey, 48; Joshua Porter, 50; and the boat’s skipper, Stephen Biernacki, 50. Authorities say crews faced 12 to 14-foot waves as they attempted to rescue those on board. The Mary B II was featured in a past episode of Deadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove , with a newly-found promo of the show revealing just how dangerous the Newport bar truly is. “Located within a mile from shore, this treacherous stretch of water is closely monitored by the Coast Guard,” the promo states, with a fisherman in the clip adding, “This bar could be terrifying.” “That bar [will] kill you,” another crab boat crew member said. “You gotta respect it.” “The river bar is a passageway between two man-made jetties connecting Newport Harbor to the Pacific Ocean,” the promo went on to say, continuing: “Under the surface, water from the harbor flows out, colliding with currents coming in, creating monster waves that can exceed 30 feet. It’s impossible to tell when or where these waves will strike. “If a boat is in their path, destruction is almost certain and survival is rare.” In the wake of this awful development, Discovery has also released a statement that reads: We feel deeply saddened by the news, as we feel part of the crabbing community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and the entire community during this difficult time. “We did everything we could. Unfortunately, it was just a tragic outcome, and our hearts and thoughts are with the family and friends of the crew,” Petty Officer Levi Reed of the U.S. Coast Guard told a local CBS affiliate. In addition to Captain Colburn, a handful of Deadliest Catch fans have shared messages of sympathy on social media, with one writing: “So sad the Mary B. ll, of the Deadliest Catch capsize 3 died. My heart goes out to family and friends.” In May of 2018, Blake Painter, another Deadliest Catch Caption, was found dead of a suspected overdose . Back in 2015, another Deadliest Catch star, Tony Lara, died at age 50 from a heart attack. Our condolences to go out to the friends, family members and loved one of these late cast members and, of course, the ones who passed away on Tuesday.

Clay Adler, Former MTV Reality Star, Commits Suicide

Clay Adler, a model and television personality best known for his former role on MTV’s Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, committed suicide while on hanging out with friends last month. He was 27 years old. The ex-reality star was likely best known for his leading role on the aforementioned series. It premiered on August 13, 2007 and concluded on January 2, 2008, serving as a successor to Laguna Beach. The program chronicled the lives of several teenagers living in Newport Harbor (an affluent community within Orange County) and was structured more like a regular TV show than a documentary. Adler appeared on both seasons of the show, taking on the “role” of Grant Newman’s close friend and Chrissy Schwartz’s occasional boyfriend. According to TMZ insiders, Adler and a few pals went shooting in the desert on March 25. At one point, in the middle of firing off a few rounds, Adler turned the gun on his own head and pulled the trigger. He died the following day in the hospital from this gunshot wound. Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that no drugs or alcohol were found in Adler’s system, but the 27-year old had struggled with mental illness in the past. After Newport Harbor went off the air, Adler tried to break into the world of acting, earning roles in such films as Make It or Break It and The Fish Tank. Both were released in 2009. Adler got started in Hollywood around the same time as Jennifer Lawrence. The two struck up a little friendship about 10 years ago, posing together on the red carpet in a photo from the 2007 Movieguide Awards that is making the Internet rounds along with this sad news. Not much else is known about Clay Adler, so we’ll end with his official bio, courtesy of his time as an MTV reality star: Clay Adler is a junior and although shy with girls, he is regarded as Newport Harbor’s hottest guy. Born and raised in Newport Harbor, Adler takes full advantage of his oceanfront playground. Whether he’s fishing from his speedboat off Balboa Island or surfing on one of Newport Harbor’s famous breaks, Adler catches girls’ glances wherever he goes. Adler’s humble attitude belies his looks and he often turns to Grant, his gregarious friend, for a boost of confidence. While it seems Adler could have any girl he wants, his shyness has kept him from having a relationship. But when Adler develops real feelings for Chrissy — and she responds accordingly — it could be his chance to break out. They’re Watching: Rapper Joey Bada$$ Says The Government Has Been Monitoring Him Since Malia Obama Wore His T-Shirt

Joey Bada$$ Deals With Unexpected Gov’t Surveillance After Malia Obama Wears His T-Shirt Joey Bada$$ might not have known who Malia Obama was , but the people who protector certain know who he is according to the NYPost … Last year, Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$, a member of the New York hip-hop collective Pro Era, experienced an overnight surge of government-level interest when a picture of Malia Obama wearing a Pro Era T-shirt began circulating online. A mutual friend of Barack Obama’s older daughter and the collective had apparently leaked the picture, and Joey (real name Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott) realized that he had become a person of interest to the president’s men. On the plus side, he got some gardening done for free. “There was a tree outside my door that shaded my whole house,” he tells The Post. “It had been there for years. But when that s–t with Malia went down, the tree was gone,” he says with a laugh. “The timing was too suspicious. I guess they [had] to get clearer pictures!” He also claims that his phones have been tapped ever since, but remarkably, he doesn’t seem overly concerned about Big Brother watching. “It’s all good. I’m only doing positive things!” His latest project doesn’t require a telephoto lens to monitor. He has a recurring role in Season 2 of USA Network’s “Mr. Robot” (which began on Wednesday), playing the “Seinfeld”-obsessed Leon, a friend of lead character and vigilante hacker Elliot (Rami Malek). “This show had made me more paranoid than I already was,” he says, laughing again. Barry probably sent them to Joey’s crib! “Who is this boy that Malia is so into? Go check him out.” Image via Twitter/Instagram

Easter Bunny Gets Hopping Mad, Brawls with Mall Patron

Earlier today, we wrote about the Slurpee Doughnut and how this is a clear example of the incoming Apocalypse. And it still may be. But it turns out we have an even better example that proves the end of the world may be near: The Easter Bunny just got into a fight with the father of a one-year old girl! The incident went down at the Newport Centre mall in Jersey City, New Jersey, on Sunday, March 20. As you can see below, the brutal brawl took place after this toddler slipped out of the Easter Bunny's chair during a photo opportunity, according to city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill, via The Associated Press. The father of the infant grew agitated and seemingly started shouting at the 22-year-old man dressed as the beloved holiday animal. Other mall patrons looked on, aghast, as the two men began to throw punches. A video of the incident shows the mall employee eventually took off his bunny mask and paws and starting hitting the parent in the face. A few onlookers attempt to intervene, but the on-duty bunny returned for a second round of fisticuffs. Morrill tells the AP that both men were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. No charges have been filed and police continue to investigate the situation. Check out the unexpected, hilarious, disturbing fight right here and now:

Random Ridiculousness: 22-Year-Old Rapper Popped By One-Time After Allegedly Bragging About Unsolved Murders In Song

You big dummy. Rap Lyrics Lead To Arrest In Unsolved Murder According to NBC News Rap lyrics may have been the break police in Newport News, Va., needed to solve a double murder from 2007. Police in the southern Virginia town arrested Antwain Steward, 22, on July 9 after receiving a tip that the rapper had made a song in which investigators believe he describes committing two unsolved murders, NBC’s Newport News affiliate, WAVY, reports. Steward has been charged in connection with a pair of killings dating back to May 10, 2007. Authorities believe the rapper, who goes by Twain Gotti, shot Brian Dean in the head while he was sitting on the front porch of his Virginia home. They also believe he shot Christopher Horton, 16, who was found dead behind the same home with a gunshot wound to his torso. The initial investigation went cold, but in 2011, the case was assigned to a different detective with the Newport News Police Department, WAVY reported. Three men, including Steward, were soon identified as suspects and witnesses told police that Horton and Steward had an argument just days before the shooting, according to WAVY. Court documents also show that witnesses came to police with information about Steward’s song “Ride Out,” which investigators believe contains information about the killings. “Listen, walk to your boy and I approached him, 12 midnight on his traphouse porch and everybody saw when I [expletive] smoked him, roped him, sharpened up the shank then I poked him, 357 Smith & Wesson [unintelligible] scoped him,” Steward raps in the song. “Who puts something in a song that they did like that,” Horton’s sister, Tai Horton, told the station. “It’s crazy. That’s what I think. Why would he do that?” Police believe the shootings were gang related, and court documents show, Steward and the other two suspects were involved with a street gang called Wickzoo in 2007. Steward is being held without bond on two counts of felony murder, one count of unlawfully discharging a firearm and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The ninja must have wanted to go to jail if he was dumb enough to snitch on himself in a song. Big brother is always watching.
