Brandon Jacobs to Gisele Bundchen: Shut Up and Look Cute!

New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has a brief message for supermodel Gisele Bundchen, following her blaming the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl loss on dropped passes by husband Tom Brady’s teammates: Just shut yer yap and just look gorgeous! The Brazilian beauty made news after she was filmed, unknowingly, by The Insider , defending Brady from gloating Giants fans shortly after Super Bowl XLVI. “You have to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” yelled Bundchen to Giants fans as she was on her way out of Lucas Oil stadium.’ “My husband can’t f–king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,” she continued. “I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” When asked by reporters about the rant during Tuesday’s victory celebration at MetLife stadium in New Jersey, Jacobs offered some unsolicited advice: “She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up,” the outspoken star said. His teammate, defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora, expressed a little more sympathy: “I mean she’s supposed to stay out of things like that, but at the end of the day that’s their relationship and she has the right to say whatever she wants.” Gotta like a gal standing by her man, even if you’re glad said man lost. She’s also not wrong. That Wes Welker drop was an absolute killer.

2012 Republican Delegate Count, Popular Vote Totals

Rick Santorum’s Colorado and Missouri caucus wins put a nice dent in Mitt Romney’s aura of inevitability, but didn’t come close to overtaking him in the delegate count. On the other hand, he has just 87 of 1,144 delegates needed to win the GOP nomination, with more than 80 percent of the U.S. still awaiting a chance to be heard. Take away Florida’s winner-take-all primary – one of only two such races so far – and his total would be even less impressive. Take a look at the delegate count so far: The “non-binding” states allow their delegates, or a portion of them, to change their minds regardless of the election results, though they are unlikely to do so. Some delegates are also “unpledged,” meaning they are not tied to election results, which is why not all of the totals in the table above (by Real Clear Politics) add up. Jon Huntsman won two delegates in New Hampshire, but is no longer in the race. As for the first contest, Iowa, CNN offers a different tabulation altogether. It’s confusing, to say the least, but offers an indication of where things are headed after last night, and looking ahead to the Super Tuesday elections on March 6. Missouri’s primary yesterday was non-official, so it is not included above. That state holds its caucus March 17, at which point delegates will actually be awarded. Maine’s caucuses are a week-long affair, concluding this Sunday. Arizona and Michigan are the next primaries on the Republican schedule, both set for February 28. Washington votes March 3, with Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Alaska, Virginia, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Idaho, Massachusetts and Vermont all casting ballots March 6. Below is the aggregate and state-by-state popular vote as of today. By this measure, Romney’s lead is even less significant, as he’s won well under half the votes: The question remains: Can Santorum, Newt Gingrich and/or Ron Paul mount a serious offensive in the coming weeks that will make this a race beyond March 6? Right now, it’s still wide open, but with hundreds of delegates up for grabs on or before that date, a Romney sweep could finally propel him ahead of the field. He would still be a long way from clinching the Republican presidential nomination, but from a financial and momentum standpoint, that may be his opponents’ last stand. If no candidate makes it to 1,144 by the end of the primary season this summer, the winner would be brokered/decided at the Republican National Convention. Wouldn’t that be something …

Nevada Caucus Results: Mitt Romney Rolls in Silver State, Newt Gingrich & Ron Paul Fight For Second

Results show Mitt Romney winning the 2012 Nevada caucuses by a sizable margin, giving him his third victory in the race for the GOP presidential nomination. With 71 percent of precincts reporting, Romney has 47 percent to Newt Gingrich’s 23 percent and Ron Paul’s 19 percent, with Rick Santorum at 11 percent. In his victory speech from Las Vegas, Romney made clear that he’s looking ahead to the general election, focusing his remarks on President Obama. “Four years ago candidate Obama came to Nevada promising to help,” he said. “Mr. President, Nevada has had enough of your kind of help,” he said. “We’re not going to settle for a president who tells us it could be worse,” he added , trying to downplay recent job gains and the drop in unemployment. A victory in Nevada leaves Romney primed for what should be a strong month for him: Six more states vote in February, and he won four of them in 2008. Still, the race is far from over. Not including Nevada’s delegates, which will be awarded proportionally, Romney has just 80 of the 1,144 needed at this point. If someone were to start pulling off some upset wins – not out of the question in this fluid cycle – on or before Super Tuesday (March 6), we could have a race. The 2012 Nevada caucus results (incomplete): Mitt Romney: 47% (11,822 votes, 11 delegates) Newt Gingrich: 23% (5,623, 2 delegates) Ron Paul: 19% (4,619, 2 delegates) Rick Santorum: 11% (2,749, 0 delegates)

King of Bain Trailer: New Film Slams Mitt Romney

Newt Gingrich, the former House Speaker, is striking a populist tone as he looks to fight back against Mitt Romney, the frontrunner in the Republican nomination fight. In a bid to discredit Romney’s economic expertise – the strength of his candidacy, besides perceived “electability” – Gingrich lambasts him for firing people and ruining lives. In a manner of speaking, of course. Insisting he is “totally for capitalism,” Newt cited Microsoft for becoming “extraordinarily rich” by “providing a service” while firms such as Bain strip companies down for profit. It’s unclear if this will resonate with voters, but a pro-Gingrich PAC, Winning Our Future, produced a movie about Mitt’s tenure at Bain to make its point. Here’s the trailer: Mitt Romney – King of Bain Movie Trailer A deluge of pro-Romney PAC ads have drawn fire from Newt Gingrich in recent weeks. Now it seems the one-time national frontrunner is firing back in kind. Time will tell if this line of attacks pays dividends, but it almost seems better suited to a Democratic National Committee ad, not one from a fellow Republican.

Newt Gingrich to Mitt Romney: Cut "Pious Baloney"

Mitt Romney has a sizable lead in most New Hampshire polls heading into the first primary of the Republican nomination race, but did he take on water today? With the election set for Tuesday, Romney is expected to win, with Ron Paul in second in every survey to date. Thus, the rest of the field is playing catch-up. Newt Gingrich, in particular, took Mitt to task today twice over: Romney’s insistence that he is not a career politician His connection to Super PACs running attack ads GOP Debate – Romney vs. Gingrich, Santorum After Rick Santorum asked Romney why he didn’t run for reelection in 2006 if he was such a successful governor, Newt told him to cut the “pious baloney.” Later, Gingrich chastised the deluge of negative ads run by pro-Romney PACs, and specifically Mitt’s failure to disavow them in a public setting. Newt Gingrich Vows Not to Cheat on Wife if Elected President

Newt Gingrich, the newly-anointed frontrunner in the fluid Republican presidential race, is promising he will not cheat on his wife Calista if elected to the White House. Seriously, this came up. The former Speaker of the House of Representatives issued a statement to The Family Leader, an evangelical Iowa organization, pledging to sign its Marriage Vow . The key points of Newt’s remarks on marriage – he’s on #3, having cheated on wife #2 with wife #3 in the 1990s, while he was pushing to impeach Bill Clinton – include: He pledges to uphold the institution of marriage through fidelity to his spouse. Gingrich will enforce the DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act), and will support a federal marriage amendment defining marriage as one man, one woman. Gingrich believes life begins at conception, will reinstate Reagan’s Mexico City policy, repeal Obamacare and cut funding for Planned Parenthood. He promotes the right of conscience for health care workers so they aren’t compelled to participate in abortions or procedures against their beliefs. Newt has catapulted himself to the front of the GOP pack despite more baggage than the American Airlines flight Alec Baldwin was kicked off of last week. His messy divorces are seen as a liability by some, but voters seem to care most about the economy, so it remains to be seen if it’d actually hurt Gingrich. Fellow GOP contenders Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum already signed the pledge. Mitt Romney is currently focus grouping it to see if he should sign this week, then change his mind two hours after the Iowa caucuses. Just kidding. Sorta. Not really.

Newt Gingrich: I Will Not Go to Debate With Olbermann or Matthews Moderating

Newt Gingrich on Sunday said that if he runs for president in 2012, he would not participate in a debate that had MSNBC's Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann moderating. Instead, the former Speaker of the House told C-SPAN's Steve Scully that he'd prefer to just have an open, informative dialogue between the candidates with only a timekeeper (video follows with transcript and commentary): read more

Michael Moore: McDonald’s at Ground Zero Killed More People Than 9/11 Hijackers

Schlockumentary film producer Michael Moore on Friday said the McDonald’s that’s two blocks from Ground Zero killed more people than the nineteen hijackers involved in the 9/11 attacks. Chatting with Bill Maher on HBO’s “Real Time,” Moore also accused Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin of being America’s Taliban. “We should start calling them Cleric Gingrich and Mullah Taliban Palin,” said Moore. “Because I think that their level of bigotry is so un-American” (video follows with partial transcript and commentary):  MICHAEL MOORE: Why don’t we have words for people like Gingrich and Palin? You know, because they’re essentially our mullahs, you know, our Taliban. We don’t ever really refer to them as, but we should start calling them Cleric Gingrich and Mullah Taliban Palin, or whatever. See how that, see how that fits. Because I think that their, their level of bigotry is so un-American, and, I just, I just. Hey, how about that McDonald’s two blocks from Ground Zero, Bill? That’s killed, that’s killed more people than the nineteen hijackers. Don’t you love it when folks that are so overweight they’re probably considered obese point fingers at others for their poor eating habits?  Honestly, does this look like a man that should be making McDonald’s jokes:     Michael, people who live in pants the size of tents shouldn’t throw Big Macs!
