REVIEW: Ed Helms Serves Up Meager Heartland Yuks in Cedar Rapids

Where would indie cinema be without the hopes and dreams and peccadilloes of the little people? In their ordinary fleece pullovers and loud ties? Miguel Arteta’s alleged comedy Cedar Rapids was apparently made by, and largely for, people who would never go to a place like Cedar Rapids without saying to their friends with a sneer, “Yeah, Cedar Rapids! Can you believe it?” It’s a movie that needs to look down its nose for its laughs, which generally isn’t the best place to find them.

Taylor Schilling: A Rebound for Zac Efron?

Vanessa Hudgens says all is good between her and Zac Efron, despite their recent break-up. But the actress might not be feeling so chipper today, considering a new report from E! News that links her ex to his most recent co-star: An on-set source says Efron and The Lucky One actress Taylor Schilling are acting “chummy” these days. Yes, chummy. “They joke around, eat together sometimes, run lines,” the insider says , though he/she is quick to point out the relationship so far is “nothing out of the ordinary.” Efron and Schilling are filming this romantic movie in New Orleans, joining Miley Cyrus and the Twilight crew as major stars taking over The Big Easy. Aside from providing serious eye candy for all residents, this also means paparazzi will be swarming the bayou all winter. If anything does go down between Zac and Taylor, it will be difficult to hide.

Gleebasing: ‘I Think I Want to Marry You’

While reliving the glorious high of Gwyneth Paltrow’s episode of Glee last week (do not be foolish; it was her episode entirely), Movieline sadly figured that viewers would not score another hit of Ryan Murphy’s series this season that would produce the same euphoria. But we were wrong, because last night’s episode — regrettably titled “Furt” — delivered what Gleams* are made of: a storyline in which Sue Sylvester marries Sue Sylvester, Mike O’M alley steals screentime from Schue and Carol Burnett guest-stars as a deadbeat mother who sings Broadway tunes. Now onto the highs and lows.

4 Edgy Family Situations Tackled in Last Night’s Parenthood: ‘It’s a Braverman Tradition’

During last week’s Parenthood , Sarah Braverman put her brother in a difficult situation by flirting with his supervisor over chocolate pudding . As delicious as that conversation may have seemed to them, it was a rotten dessert for Adam. He dealt with the ignominy by passive aggressively storing his resentment, only unloading fits of white, middle-class rage on Sarah days later for no apparent reason. The valuable lessons continued last night with the episode, “I’m Cooler Than You Think,” in which no character proved that they were cooler than you think.

Toy Story 3 Hater Armond White Didn’t Like The Social Network Either

Armond White is nothing if not predictable . His negative review of The Social Network arrived today, complete with thoughts on how David Fincher’s film compares negatively to the C. Thomas Howell classic, Soul Man , and shots at Noah Baumbach. “As played by pale-skinned, curly-headed Jesse Eisenberg,” White writes, “Zuckerberg may be the most obnoxious movie protagonist Noah Baumbach didn’t write.” Well, at least he liked it better than Greenberg ? 4 Issues That Could Make No Ordinary Family Very Ordinary

The premiere of ABC’ s sci-fi-family-mockumentary- Incredibles update No Ordinary Family did little to hide the fact that these suburban superhumans are pretty damn ordinary. From the looks of the ratings , the Michael Chiklis series seems destined to survive a full season. Or at least longer than Lone Star . In order to do that, though, it will have to survive its list of shortcomings.

Dead fish all over east coast-lack of oxygen from gulf ecocide?

What a coverup. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the oil more than likely has entered the ocean current loop and may well be depriving oxygen to marinelife causing these huge fishkills all up the East Coast. The media is covering it up, the government is covering it up. And yes, there are such things as fishkills and that is understood. However, this seems out of the ordinary. It isn't enough that we are killing the oceans with our plastic, poisons, acidification, overfishing and agricultural run off, we will now let BP get away with dealing the final blow. added by: JanforGore

John Friend: A Business-Yogi & Brand Guru

Me and the clean-cut Anusara master, John Friend.
