Gwyneth Paltrow Needs A Little Work

I like to see that Gwyneth Paltrow is at least making an effort to get my attention, I bet she’s just been dying to get on this site for years now, but her tight dress needs a little work. It’s got some weird lumps and bumps in there, like a cat in a pillow case. Actually, maybe it’s not the dress that needs work, maybe it’s those old breast that need a little pick me up. Some double D’s perhaps? Think about it.

‘Country Strong’: A Cheat Sheet

Everything you need to know, from how Gwyneth Paltrow prepared for the film to how Britney Spears inspired it. By Kara Warner Gwyneth Paltrow in “Country Strong” Photo: Sony Pictures Although it may seem as though we’ve been talking about Gwyneth Paltrow and her turn as a washed-up country singer in “Country Strong” forever, the film, which also stars Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester, has only been in a few select theaters until now. Luckily for those eager to see it, the film finally opened in wide release Friday (January 7). To celebrate the occasion and properly prepare moviegoers for some boot-stompin’, here’s everything you need to know about “Country Strong.” Back in December 2009, it was announced that Paltrow would be shooting a “country film” called “Love Don’t Let Me Down,” produced by none other than former “Spider-Man” Tobey Maguire. At the beginning of 2010, production headed to Nashville , the home of country music, where the locals were treated to first listens of the country stylings of Hedlund, Meester and Paltrow, all of whom actually sing their own songs in the movie. When MTV News caught up with Paltrow at the beginning of the summer, she was in the thick of promotion for “Iron Man 2,” but she revealed that her hesitation to sing country music didn’t compare to the nervousness she felt concerning the amount of skin she bared for the role. Toward the end of the summer, news trickled out regarding the film’s title change from the wordy “Love Don’t Let Me Down” to “Country Strong,” which is also the title of one of the songs Paltrow’s character, Kelly Canter, sings in the film. In September we got our eyes on the first full-length trailer for the film. Then in November Paltrow made headlines in Nashville once again when she bravely graced the stage at the Country Music Awards and performed “Country Strong” live . From there began the big promotional push in anticipation of the film’s release. We chatted with the stars at the film’s press day and found out key details about Meester’s stage fright and how she had trained for the role . Paltrow revealed that if she ever puts out an album, it will be a little bit country and a little bit Cee Lo . We also learned from director Shana Feste that Paltrow’s character’s troubled, down-on-her-luck edge was inspired by Britney Spears’ very public meltdown . On December 15 the stars lit up the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere , and shortly thereafter MTV News unveiled an exclusive clip of “Gossip Girl” Meester belting out her big showstopper . After that, all we could do was wait for January 7 for “Country Strong” to arrive in wide release. Check out everything we’ve got on “Country Strong.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Cee Lo ‘Impressed’ With Gwyneth Paltrow’s Vocals on ‘F— You’ Remake

‘She’s got great vocal control and range,’ Cee Lo said of the actress, with whom he recorded a duet version of his hit song on Monday. By Gil Kaufman Cee Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow Photo: Getty Images Cee Lo Green has worked with plenty of professional musicians and he knows a thing or two about recording hit songs. But the Gnarls Barkley frontman and solo star said even he was impressed with the vocal skills he heard on Monday when “Country Strong” actress Gwyneth Paltrow joined him in a New York studio to record a new version of his Grammy-nominated smash, “F— You.” “We already went into the studio together to record a special rendition of ‘Forget You,’ ” he said on Wednesday of the sanitized version of his viral hit. “I started off the new year [in] a very special way and that’s recording with Miss Gwyneth.” The Lady Killer singer had nothing but kind things to say about the budding recording star, describing her as “very pleasant,” “very pretty” and a “consummate professional.” After some small talk to break the ice during their first meeting, Cee Lo said he shared some laughs with Paltrow before they got down to the work at hand. Ever the gentleman, he let the lady go first and, well, she killed it. “In about four takes, impressively, she nailed it,” he said, noting that Paltrow was very familiar with the song thanks to the clean rendition she did of it for “Glee” in November , which he highly praised at the time. With the song’s producers, the Bruno Mars-led Smeezingtons, on hand to handle the remake, Cee Lo said there initially was a concern about the actress being able to sing in the Goodie Mob member’s range. “She got in and she sang the original key the song was recorded in, so there wasn’t much we had to change,” he maintained. The Smeezingtons are working on remixing and remastering the session as we speak. Cee Lo hasn’t heard the final version yet, but he’s hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the finished product. While the track was originally recorded for one voice, he said they were able to turn it into a duet by going “back and forth and [doing] our little Sonny and Cher kind of thing.” Paltrow has reported that she watched hours of performances by her pal Beyonc

Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Postpartum Depression

Gwyneth Paltrow stars in the upcoming movie Country Strong . But after this actress’ second child was born, Paltrow said she reached the lowest, weakest point of her life. “I felt like a zombie. I couldn’t access my heart. I couldn’t access my emotions. I couldn’t connect,” Paltrow says in the February issue of Good Housekeeping . Paltrow added that this was the antithesis of what she felt when daughter Apple as born in 2004. “It was terrible, it was the exact opposite of what had happened when Apple was born,” Gwyneth says of welcoming Moses into the world. “With her, I was on cloud nine. I couldn’t believe it wasn’t the same. I just thought it meant I was a terrible mother and a terrible person.” Husband Chris Martin came to his wife four months after their son was born and was the first to mention the term “postpartum depression.” “I thought postpartum depression meant you were sobbing every single day and incapable of looking after a child,” Paltrow says. “But there are different shades of it and depths of it, which is why I think it’s so important for women to talk about it. It was a trying time. I felt like a failure.” The actress says her dark days are over, however, and she’s loving life as a mother. Let’s hope others suffering from this disease can also recognize it and find ways to move on.

Gwyneth Paltrow Admits Hosting Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Swift At Dinner

‘I wonder how people find out these things,’ Paltrow says of party attended by the couple. By Jocelyn Vena Gwyneth Paltrow Photo: Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic This fall the world has been entranced by Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift’s romance , watching them canoodle their way through coffee shops and ice cream parlors. So when an Us Weekly report hit the Web indicating that Gwyneth Paltrow might have been the one to introduce them, USA Today made it its job to find out about the alleged November dinner party the Oscar winner hosted for the pair. “Where is this coming from?” Paltrow asked the newspaper. “I’ve just known Jake for a long time and he’s a great guy, and [husband Chris Martin] has a friendship with Taylor.” Paltrow, who’s currently doing press for her role as a country singer in the film “Country Strong,” added that she didn’t want to say much else about it. “Well, I’m scared to say,” she said. “It’s so weird. I wonder how people find out these things. It was a while ago, so I don’t know why it would come out today.” While Paltrow was tight-lipped, a source was eager to share all with Us. “Jake and Taylor were driven from the Dorchester Hotel to Gwyneth and Chris Martin’s house in Primrose Hill for dinner. Gwyneth seems to have played a role in their relationship,” the source said. Neither Swift nor Gyllenhaal has said much about their relationship, but back in November, shortly after the couple was first spotted together, Swift said , “I’m always optimistic about love. Yes, always, sometimes.” Related Videos The Evolution Of: Gwyneth Paltrow Related Photos The Evolution Of: Gwyneth Paltrow Related Artists Taylor Swift

Gwyneth Paltrow Returning To ‘Glee’

Actress confirms she’ll reprise her role as a sassy substitute teacher on a second episode of hit Fox show. By James Dinh, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow on “Glee” Photo: Fox Gwyneth Paltrow just can’t get enough “Glee.” The actress-turned-singer, who guest-starred on the hit Fox show last month, is set to reprise her role as McKinley High’s free-spirited substitute teacher Holly Holiday in an upcoming episode. The actress confirmed to “Access Hollywood” that she had signed on for two episodes, and called the TV gig “the best job ever.” There’s no word yet on when Paltrow’s second appearance will air or what tunes the Oscar-winning actress will sing. During her much-hyped debut “Glee” episode, Paltrow belted the edited version of Cee-Lo’s “F— You” (which happens to be MTV News’ #5 Song of 2010 ). She also did a mash-up of Rihanna’s smash “Umbrella” and the Gene Kelly classic “Singin’ in the Rain” alongside Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison). When MTV News caught up with the “Country Strong” star, she told us she’d heard through the grapevine that Cee Lo was flattered by her “Glee” cover . “I have heard from Cee Lo through other people,” Paltrow said. “He was incredibly sweet about it. It’s embarrassing to think of Cee Lo hearing me sing his song,” she laughed. Asked whether she’d heard from Rihanna yet, Paltrow joked, “No! What the?” “Clearly, she hated it,” we said. Of course, Gwyneth’s “Glee” appearances have won raves, including from show creator Ryan Murphy who spoke to the BBC about casting her. “Gwyneth is a great singer,” he said. “She’s done it a little bit, but I really want to show it off and show everyone how great she is.” Are you excited to see Gwyneth on “Glee” again? Tell in the comments!
