Matt Brown Reconciles with Billy, Plans Return to Alaskan Bush People!

Late last month, reports came out that Matt Brown was banned from filming Alaskan Bush People after his sobriety struggles and a family conflict. That wasn’t just sad for viewers — it was a source of grief for the whole family. Now, there’s wonderful news for everyone involved — especially Matt himself. As you may recall, even when we reported on the falling out between father and son, we did some further digging. We were even able to find a photograph of Matt in Washington, which seemed to indicate that things were on the mend. Now, RadarOnline confirms that we were right on the money. “Matt is already back in California,” the insider reports. The source notes that this is “after spending a week with his family in Washington,” “But,” the insider adds. “He really had a great trip home.” “He made up with his father,” the insider announces. “Which is huge.” “He was able to make up with his father,” the source repeats. “And,” the insider shares. “They were able to come to an agreement that would bring Matt back to the show.” That is a huge relief — though, of course, a little too late for this current season. The source clarifies that Matt’s return is slated “for the season after this one.” Of course, there’s one very serious ground rule. “Billy told Matt that he must stay sober from now on,” the insider reveals. “Or else,” the source warns. “The deal is off.” “Of course, Matt agreed,” the insider adds. We’re sure that no one is more invested in Matt remaining sober than Matt himself. While Matt hasn’t made a formal announcement about returning to the show, he has dropped “hints” about his reconciliation with his family. “Taking in this peaceful view of this lake here and I was thinking about you all guys,” Matt said in a recent Instagram video. Notably, in the video, he is overlooking Lake Loomis.  “I know that I haven’t done a video in a while,” he acknowledged. “So I just wanted to say ‘hey.’” “I hope you all have a good weekend,” he expressed. “And I know that we will out here.” “Alright,” Matt concluded. “Love you all!” Years ago, Matt developed a problem with alcohol and had to become sober. In recent years, however, worries over his mother’s battle with Stage 4 lung cancer contributed to his return to drinking. (It was not the only factor, but it was certainly a major one) Last year, the family staged an intervention, and Matt attended rehab along with therapy and meetings and hired a sobriety coach. Even with that support, he faltered and slipped at times. Now, he is once again on the straight and narrow. Fans and family alike are proud of Matt for taking these difficult steps to better his life. Still, Matt Brown will need to remain sober if he intends to make good on the deal that he and Billy have struck. But we believe 100% that he can avoid alcohol or even the temptation to drink. Right now, he’s back to enjoying his life in Southern California. Having so many social options (including a rumored mystery girlfriend) should help with emotional support until he sees his family again. And not without reason. She is, after all, a white woman profiting off black culture. She raps with a “blaccent,” which, in her case, is an exaggerated Southern drawl that can’t be found in Australia. When asked about the issues surrounding “speaking black” in a 2013 interview with  Complex , Iggy responded, “If you’re mad about it and you’re a black person, then start a rap career and give it a go too.” A few months before that, Iggy faced backlash from fans who’d uncovered some old racist tweets she claimed were jokes. And before  that , she had to write an apology for using the phrase “runaway slave-master” in a lyric. If you’ve been reading this waiting to get to the part where Iggy apologizes for all the above—sorry, she’s not sorry. (The most sing-along-able lyric off one of her new songs is “I started to say sorry / But fuck that shit,” so yeah.) But listen, she does get it now. Sort of. She thinks cultural appropriation is subjective, even though she knows that sounds like a fucked-up thing to say. “You could ask one person of the same race, ‘Does this affect you?’ and they will say yes,” she explains. “But another person will say no. They could be from the same place, same everything, but have different perspectives about it.” Then again, can you really say sorry and then keep doing the same shit? (Her question.) “I’m still going to make the same type of music and still be ridiculous and larger than life,” she says. “So I can’t be that fucking sorry about it.” The way she sees it, the reason some people hate her is the same reason a lot of other people love her, so what’s she supposed to do? In fact, she describes her fans as “free thinkers.” As she puts it, “They have to be because if you thought what everybody else thought, you probably wouldn’t be a fan of mine.” Iggy used to feel really defensive about this stuff. “I would hit back and say, ‘What about this that I had to go through?’ because I wanted to talk so much about my experiences of things I didn’t have, and I think it felt like I wasn’t acknowledging that there is white privilege and there is institutionalized racism,” she says. “It seemed to a lot of people like I was living in this bubble or unaware of all these things that people have to experience.” The charitable interpretation is that Iggy understands that the criticism stems from America’s relationship with race and that  that  history is fucked up. And hey, if that’s how you feel or what you believe, she’s not taking away the fact that it’s real for you. The less charitable one is that she doesn’t care. Either way, she’s going to stop rage-tweeting about it. Welp, what more can we really expect?

Philadelphia Unveils Its First Statue Of A Black Girl

Earlier this week Philadelphia children gathered in awe around the newest addition to West Passyunk’s Smith Playground; a statue inspired by the late legendary athlete Ora Washington . According to CBS Philly , the sculpture—dubbed “MVP”—was added to the park as a part of Philly’s 60th Anniversary of the Percent for Art Programs. The statue is inspired by Philadelphia athlete Ora Washington. https://t.co/tZI3jz542O — CBS Philly (@CBSPhilly) July 31, 2019 The statue—which was created by Brian McCutcheon —stands at 5 foot 4 inches tall and depicts a young girl playing basketball. Washington, a Philadelphia native, broke barriers on both the tennis and basketball courts. While playing basketball for the Germantown Hornets, she led them to a national women’s title in 1930 and helped them earn 33 consecutive wins the following year. She also played with the Philadelphia Tribune Girls between the years of 1932 and 1942. Her athletic abilities went beyond the basketball court. Often referred to as the “Queen of Tennis,” she won the American Tennis Association’s national singles title eight times and won 12 straight double championships; marking her place in history as a sports legend. Bringing the plan for the statue to fruition was a collaborative effort between the Percent for Art Program, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Make the World Better Foundation, and Councilwoman Kenyatta Johnson . Leaders of the initiative hope that the sculpture will inspire youth—specifically young girls—to realize their dreams. “The children and teens that come to Smith Playground everyday can see and be inspired by this powerful sculpture that looks like someone in their community,” Kelly Lee , Philadelphia’s Chief Cultural Officer, told Patch in a statement. “My hope is, like the  Rocky  statue,  MVP  will become a local destination where people will come, replicate the pose, take photos, or selfies and if only for a moment feel like a MVP – a most valuable player.” Throughout the years Washington has received several posthumous accolades for her accomplishments in sports. In the 1980s she was inducted into Temple University’s Sports Hall of Fame. She also has been inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and the Basketball Hall of Fame. C hicago-bred rapper Common is adding real estate developer to his repertoire. According to the Chicago Tribune , the music artist—whose real name is Lonnie Rashid Lynn —is investing in the transformation of an underdeveloped property located in the city’s South Side area. Chicago rapper Common and a group of real estate developers want to convert the former U.S. Steel plant on the city’s south lakefront into a movie production campus. https://t.co/44yxW8ug3L — Chicago Tribune (@chicagotribune) July 28, 2019 Lynn is reportedly working with a group of real estate developers to transform a vacant piece of land which used to be a U.S. Steel plant into a large mixed-use development. He wants to convert the 415-acre site into a hub that will include homes, stores, entertainment and sports facilities, and a movie production campus. He hopes that the development of these new establishments will revive the surrounding community and provide job opportunities for people in the neighborhood. The cost to purchase the site will be nearly $71 million. The developers are working on bringing investors on board and the plans for the site would have to be approved by the city. Lynn has been dedicated to bettering his hometown and bringing authentic narratives about the city to the forefront through his artistry. “I felt a responsibility to be a voice for the people of Chicago, to represent their humanity,” he said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times . “We are human beings and that’s something many people don’t get to experience or witness because they hear about Chicago through its violence. We have a duty to make sure we tell the stories of these human beings.” The rapper isn’t the only one who is investing in their hometown. Earlier this year it was announced that Queen Latifah is creating an affordable housing complex in Newark to level the playing field when it comes to housing equity. The project—which is reportedly going to cost $14 million—will include a community of multi-family townhouses, a fitness center and commercial space that will be used by nonprofit organizations. Mackenzie McKee: Marital Troubles to Be Featured on Teen Mom OG?

At this point, the “OG” in Teen Mom OG is more of a suggestion than a hard-and-fast rule. After all, none of the cast members who have joined the show since Farrah Abraham’s departure have met the “original girl” requirement — hell, Cheyenne Floyd wasn’t even a teen mom! But as Cheyenne proved, a likable personality is far more important than strict compliance with the original premise of the series. And so, when seeking out a replacement for Bristol Palin — who quit the show after one season — and possibly Amber Portwood — who seems likely to be fired in the very next season — producers are less concerned with sticking to the rules than with finding a mom fans can identify with. And it seems the search has led them straight to Mackenzie McKee. Mackenzie was one of the cast members on the short-lived Teen Mom 3, and she’s currently in sort of a limbo-state, having apparently toined TMOG on a part-time basis. McKee was at the taping of this year’s Teen Mom OG reunion show, and she’ll reportedly appear in the final episodes of the current season. And while longtime viewers — and Mackenzie’s new co-stars — might take issue with the decision, it seems Ms. McKee will have plenty to offer in terms of drama. For starters, Mackenzie’s mother is battling cancer . Angie Douthit has become an inspirational figure to many in recent years, and the show will focus largely on her fight for her life. But it will also devote a good deal of time to Mackenzie’s tumultuous relationship with husband Josh McKee. “Mackenzie’s scenes will be an update on her crazy life,” an insider told Radar. “Viewers will find out what’s going on with her marriage to Josh and how they’re working through their ugly past,” the source adds. “It will follow them getting along and figuring things out.” The couple has had lots of ups and downs over the years, including accusations of infidelity. These days, they’re still together, but it seems their history is even uglier than we realized — and the show promises to fill us in on all that. It will also feature some physical action with screen time devoted to Josh’s love for bucking broncos. “Josh rodeoing will appear on the season,” says the source. Speaking of animals, McKee’s alleged abuse of pets has some fans promising to boycott the show if she’s added to the cast on a full-time basis. On top of that, she might have trouble wining over her castmates, several of whom have made it clear that they would prefer that their bosses not replace Bristol . “No new friends,” Maci Bookout quipped when asked about the possibility of a new cast member. “If it’s not broke don’t fix it! #TeenMomOG #JustSaying,” Catelynn Lowell tweeted when the news of McKee’s casting brokw. When a fan wrote, “I didn’t realize you’re such a mean girl,” Mackenzie responded, “Same.” Catelynn later explained, “It has NOTHING to do with Mackenzie at all! It’s with the ppl that don’t explain what’s happening. I welcome anyone just think MTV would tell us not find out online.” As you can see from the pic above, Mackenzie appears to have patched up her differences with the Baltierras. Hopefully, she’ll find it just as easy to win over skeptical fans.

Zack Carpinello is about to go from arm candy to featured player. Are you ready, MTV viewers? You probably have a few months to get yourselves there. Back in April,  Carpinello made his relationship with Jenni “JWOWW” Farley Instagram official, making it evident to the world that the pair were knocking the proverbal boots. Which is to say they were in a committed romantic that likely involved sexual intercourse. The veteran Jersey Shore star and her professional wrestler of a boyfriend shared a photo at the time of the two of them stuck in traffic, trying to make it to Harry Potter world. This confirmation came days after Farley teased that was involved with a younger mystery man, posing a rather intimate photo of herself and Carpinello in bed. Fast forward a few months now and it appears as if Jenni and this attractive boy toy are going strong. So strong, in fact, that Carpinello will eventually appear on episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. “They’re pretty much living together because he stays at her house all the time,” an insider tells Radar Online, adding: “They really do not spend any time apart from each other and Jenni is excited for her fans to get to know him.” Farley, of course, is coming off an extremely ugly split from husband Roger Mathews. Tami Roman is finally getting the spin-off show she’s been talking about for years, and a whole lot more. It was announced this week by Deadline that the 49-year-old reality star and actress has signed an overall deal with Mona Scott-Young and her Monami Productions, which is behind the Love and Hip Hop  franchises, to develop and produce both scripted and “alternative” content. The first project in that lucrative deal is Roman’s reality special, Tami Ever After . It premieres Wednesday, June 19 at 9 p.m. after the premiere of Season 8 of Basketball Wives,  which Tami is also on. The special will follow Tami, longtime love and now husband Reggie Youngblood, and the blending of her daughters and his family from Houston. When Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got engaged , fans the world over rejoiced. But rumors of trouble between J-Lo and A-Rod began soon after the couple announced their plans to get hitched. In a bizarre turn of events, fellow baseball legend Jose Canseco claimed that Rodruiguez was cheating on Lopez with Canseco’s ex-wife. A-Rod denied any wrongdoing , but given his reputation as a bit of a player (and we don’t mean on the diamond) many were skeptical of his claims. Alex has a busy travel itinerary coming up, and Jen’s not taking any chances. “Jennifer has a detailed calendar with Alex’s every move mapped out — precisely where he’s got to be and when,” a source tells the tabloid. “She’s also insisted Alex has a ‘security team,’” the insider adds. “It’s four guys who watch over him 24/7, but they’re not professionals.” Not only are they not professionals, it seems the A(-Rod) Team was hand-selected by the former Yankee himself. “Alex recruited one of the guys from his gym,” says the source. “He’s just an ordinary schmuck who’s never been on tour before!” Well, we’re sure an ordinary schmuck is as capable as an experienced schmuck when it comes to the task of keeping A-Rod from getting to third base. And it’s not as though Jen’s suspicions are unfounded. In addition to the Canseco allegations, a British porn star who goes by the name Zoe Gregory recently came forward and claimed that Alex sent her a number of explicit texts, including — of course — a dick pic or two. “He seemed like a needy, horny bloke,” Gregory told The Enquirer . Add that to the tabloid’s previous claims about A-Rod’s infidelity , and it’s not hard to see why Jenny From the Block might be ready to kick her man to the curb.
