This film earned $14.5 million in box office sales and could possibly top that if fans get the opportunity to see it on Broadway. Emails in 2015 were leaked claiming Lee was going to develop a sequel 25 years later. Hopefully I can get Laurence Fishburne to play Dap… he’ll be the president now of the school. It would deal with issues in HSBCUs today… some of the same stuff from the last film… like the pledging process… but also lots of new stuff… like homophobia… it’s a big subject in it… class issues, color, hair texture… but it’s stuff happening today.” The best part about that is Tisha Campbell , Larry Fishburne and others were probably going to join the cast again. Texas Mother Dies In Police Custody 2 Weeks After Car Accident Another black woman has died in a Texas jail , despite pleas from her family asking that law enforcement take her for proper medical treatment. Honey Marshall set up a GoFundMe account on behalf of her 22-year-old sister Symone, who passed away last week leaving her 3-year-old daughter without a mother: On April 26th, 2016, Symone Marshall was ran off the highway by a road rage filled man causing her vehicle to flip over three times and end up in a ditch. When police came to the scene, instead of being taken to a hospital, Symone was held in police custody for two weeks with NO medical attention for not possessing a valid drivers license. Police refused to take her to a hospital to be evaluated by professional doctors, (even with her sister, Honey Marshall calling and requesting for them to do so) which resulted in her dying in jail two weeks later on May 10th, 2016 from a blood clot in her lung. Symone was a loving sister, friend and mother. She didn’t deserve to be held in jail like a criminal and lose her life. This act of careless negligence on behalf of this Texas Jail cost Symone her life at only 22 years old. She leaves behind a precious 3 year old daughter that loved her mommy more than anything in this world and Symone loved her the same. We are seeking 3 things to help us: media attention on this issue, justice for the two weeks of gross negligence that resulted in her death, and donations toward giving Symone a beautiful funeral. We appreciate the love and support. #BlackLivesMatter This campaign was started by Symones sisters, Toni Pruitt & Honey Marshall Really sad stuff right? We just don’t understand how the police allowed this to happen. According to an interview with NY Daily News reporter Shaun King Marshall was experiencing headaches and blackouts — signs she should have received serious medical attention. “My sister Symone moved to Texas for a fresh start in life a few months ago. She was doing good down there, had a job and was about to buy a house. She’s a beautiful person, never been in trouble before and didn’t deserve this,” said Honey Marshall. “When I talked to her from jail, she complained that her head was hurting and she kept blacking out,” said her sister. “I called the jail several times and requested for them to take her to a real hospital and they wouldn’t do so. If they would have this, her death could have been prevented and my sister would still be here. My heart hurts so bad. She was my best friend. I am so angry that they did this to her.” What makes matters worse is that police and jail officials aren’t talking. They declined to comment or release information about the accident to the Daily News and Marshall’s family. The public should be outraged and demanding answers! Meek Mill Popped For Probation Violation, Will Spend 3 to 6 Months In Jail

Looks like we won’t be hearing Meek Mill > scream-rapping on any new tracks for a little while. The MMG rapper is currently in police custody in Philly and has been sentenced to remain in jail until it’s cold out again. Via My Fox Philly : Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is behind bars Friday night. Mill, seen in video at the scene of last weekend’s deadly fire in Southwest Philadelphia, will spend three to six months behind bars after violating his probation. He’s in custody right now. Prosecutors say they were concerned about a number of recent incidents with Mill, including posting a photo of himself with a gun. That is a pretty vague description of his crimes…wonder what Meek did to get locked up??

Well this is no laughing matter. Donnell Rawlings In Police Custody After Being Caught Driving Drunk One of our favorite funny guys, Donnell Rawlings, is being held by police after driving the wrong way down a one way street while allegedly intoxicated. According to Page Six reports: Comedian Donnell Rawlings is in police custody after he was caught allegedly driving drunk the wrong way down a one way street in Midtown, police sources said. The 43-year-old comedian was pulled over at 11th Avenue and 47th Street about 3:50 a.m. Friday and taken into police custody under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Ten minutes beforehand police were in the process of arresting someone else for driving drunk down the same one-way street in the wrong direction, the sources said. Charges against Rawlings are pending, cops said. A police source said he blew over twice the legal limit, the sources said. We hated to hear this! Donnell next time just get an Uber! WENN

This is so sad ! Russell Neal In Police Custody After Wife Found Dead In Home Via TMZ reports: TMZ has learned … ’90s singer Russell Neal from Hi-Five is in police custody … after he told cops his wife was dead inside their apartment … and he needed a lawyer. Neal apparently told Houston cops he and his wife had gotten into an argument Wednesday … the singer reportedly asked for a lawyer and then clammed up. Hi-Five’s song “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)” went to number one in 1991 … and a year later they scored another hit with, “She’s Playing Hard to Get.” The group’s lead singer Tony Thompson famously died in 2007 after inhaling Freon. Neal is currently being detained … no charges have been filed. The lawyer for Hi-Five, Chris Brown, tells TMZ, “We are aware of the situation and are presently evaluating it.” Yikes!!!!! YT

It’s all fun and games ’til you get beat with a python… Man Beats Girlfriend With Pet Python As She Soaks In Hot Tub A Massachusetts man is in police custody after he whipped out his snake and went to work on his girlfriend while she was soaking in the hot tub….. via Fox News A Massachusetts man is facing charges for allegedly using a pet python to beat his girlfriend as she soaked in a hot tub, injuring the woman and ultimately killing the snake. West Springfield police say 34-year-old Keith Paro is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges of domestic assault and battery, larceny over $250, wanton and malicious damage over $250, and cruelty to animals. Police say the couple got into an argument on Tuesday night and Paro removed the snake from a cage and “began beating the female repeatedly.” Police say Paro threw the snake in the hot tub when he was done, and it died. The woman suffered bruising to her knees, back, arms and stomach. Paro fled after the alleged assault before turning himself in late Thursday. What has to occur in your life for you to beat someone with a python while they sit in the hot tub? Or at all? We’re just curious…
