#BlackExcellence: Media Executive Depelsha McGruder Named Chief Operating Officer Of New York Public Radio

B lack women are continuing to make waves in the realm of media. Just weeks after it was announced that Lindsay Peoples Wagner was named the new editor in chief of Teen Vogue , another African American woman has landed a major role at a top media company. Depelsha McGruder has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of New York Public Radio. In her new position, McGruder will be responsible for leading the internal culture at NYPR. She will oversee the human resources, legal and IT departments and will also be instrumental in strategic planning and establishing the direction for the company’s digital platforms. Prior to taking on this new role, McGruder spent nearly two decades at Viacom where she worked for both MTV and BET. During her tenure at Viacom, she led the launch of both the MTV Tres and Centric networks and oversaw several departments including digital and social media, strategy and operations, programming, finance, legal, human resources and others. Outside of her work in media McGruder—who is a Howard University alumna—has led several philanthropic efforts. She founded the organizations Moms of Black Boys United, Inc. and M.O.B.B. United for Social Change, Inc. to spread awareness about police brutality and overcome the negative perceptions about Black men and boys. Leaders at New York Public Radio are excited to bring McGruder on board. “With a background in strategy, programming, audience development and organizational culture and change, Depelsha possesses extraordinary breadth, versatility and experience,” Laura Walker , CEO and President, NYPR, said in a statement. “At a moment when audio is exploding, local news is shrinking, audiences are fracturing and digital platforms are shifting rapidly, she is the right person to smartly guide our strategic plans and strengthen our internal culture while fulfilling our mission of producing trusted journalism, serving a broad audience, amplifying new voices, and creating a best in class workplace.” McGruder says working at NYPR will be a full-circle experience for her. “I began my professional career as a local broadcast journalist, so joining NYPR feels like coming home. I am in awe of the stellar content the team produces, and look forward to finding ways to amplify the impact of this great institution,” she said. McGruder is slated to start her role on October 29. Paul Allen Dies; Microsoft Co-Founder Was 65

Paul Allen, the multi-billionaire who co-founded Microsoft alongside Bill Gates in 1975, died on Monday afternoon at his home in Seattle. He was 65 years old. Allen, who was worth around $20 billion around the time of his passing, lost his battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a disease he announced had returned two weeks ago. “Some personal news: Recently, I learned the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma I battled in 2009 has returned,” Allen Tweeted on October 1, addingat the time: “I’ve begun treatment & my doctors are optimistic that I will see a good result. Appreciate the support I’ve received & count on it as I fight this challenge.” The wildly successful businessman’s Vulcan Inc. confirmed the sad news today, writing on Twitter: It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of @PaulGAllen, our founder and noted technologist, philanthropist, community builder, conservationist, musician and supporter of the arts. All of us who worked with Paul feel an inexpressible loss today. Allen’s sister, Jody, also released a statement. She said Paul was “a remarkable individual on every level,” adding in full: While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much-loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend. Paul’s family and friends were blessed to experience his wit, warmth, his generosity and deep concern. For all the demands on his schedule, there was always time for family and friends. At this time of loss and grief for us – and so many others – we are profoundly grateful for the care and concern he demonstrated every day. Allen and Gates were both college dropouts. They came up with the idea for Microsoft in Albuquerque, designing software together for the nascient personal computer revolution. Microsoft moved to Bellevue, Washington in 1979. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1983 and resigned shortly thereafter, but still was an active member of the board until the year 2000. Allen was also a prominent figure in the professional sports world. He had owned the Seattle Seahawks since 1997 and the Portland Trail Blazers since 1988. He was also the co-owner of the MLS’ Seattle Sounders FC. Over the years, Allen donated over $2 billion to charity. He was never married and left behind no children. Said Vulcan CEO, Bill Hilf, of Allen: “All of us who had the honor of working with Paul feel inexpressible loss today. “He possessed a remarkable intellect and a passion to solve some of the world’s most difficult problems, with the conviction that creative thinking and new approaches could make profound and lasting impact. “Today we mourn our boss, mentor and friend whose 65 years were too short – and acknowledge the honor it has been to work alongside someone whose life transformed the world.” May Paul Allen rest in peace. Emily Ratajkowski Introduces The Hand Bra

I know I do a lot of posts on Emily Ratajkowski ‘s very important Instagram work . But here’s the professional model doing her professional model thing in a brand-new photoshoot. I’m not sure what exactly she’s supposed to be modeling, but I’m 99% sure it’s a hand bra. And personally, I think it looks great on Emily. She should wear one all the time.

JoJo In her Underwear of the DAy

Jojo is such a ridiculous nickname, I find it interesting that she still uses it as her professional name, despite how ridiculous it is…but I guess she spent so much time building up the brand as a child star exploited at 12, it’s just easier to keep it going…and here she is 15 years later showing her toned abs…to the perverts who still care…the perverts into 12 year olds who are ok with that 12 year old turning 30….because part of the erotica is watching her grow, develop, and age…some truman show shit where you voyeur so hard like she’s your neighbor’s kid and you’ve seen her whole existence from birth to middle age…always drawn to her because of that connection, that bond, that can only live a few times in one pervert’s lifetime… And here she is trying to hustle hard….market hard…remind those perverts she’s still there, still got it, despite being older and less relevant jailbait hype… The post JoJo In her Underwear of the DAy appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Kara Del Toro Is A Five-alarm Pantfire

I’ve been following  Kara Del Toro for a while now, and in my professional opinion, this hottie is a total five-alarm pants fire. She doesn’t have that big a following on Instagram yet though — she’s still only around half a million followers. So let’s try to make those numbers jump up, because not only does a body this good deserve to be seen by way more than half a million people, but also because I might finally score a date out of it. Or at the very least, a few dirty “thank you” selfies. Fingers crossed!

Professional Picture Taking Perv Terry Richardson Banned From Fashion Mags Over Creep Complaints

(Photo by Craig Barritt/Getty Images) Terry Richardson Banned From Working For Condé Nast Publications It’s definitely a new day for the entertainment industry… With new allegations of sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein and James Toback continuing to mount, fashion photographer Terry Richardson is out of work as far as Conde Nast is concerned, after a UK newspaper questioned over the weekend why the shutterbug is still being “feted by fashionistas.” Now the UK Telegraph is reporting that Conde Nast’s executive vice president and chief operating officer sent an email to “country presidents” at the firm Monday ordering any existing projects with Richardson be killed: Mr. Woolhouse wrote: “I am writing to you on an important matter. Condé Nast would like to no longer work with the photographer Terry Richardson. “Any shoots that have been commission[ed] or any shoots that have been completed but not yet published, should be killed and substituted with other material. “Please could you confirm that this policy will be actioned in your market effective immediately. Thank you for your support in this matter.” According to the Telegraph reports, Mr. Richardson’s contract arrangements had been in dispute for some time with Condé Nast International, which includes Vanity Fair, GQ and Vogue. US Vogue already distanced themselves from Richardson in 2014 when he faced sexual misconduct allegations. At the time they released a statement saying “The last assignment Terry Richardson had for US Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future.” In the meantime, Richardson has responded to the reports by expressing his disappointment. In a statement to the Huffington Post Richardson responded: “Terry is disappointed to hear about this email especially because he has previously addressed these old stories. “He is an artist who has been known for his sexually explicit work so many of his professional interactions with subjects were sexual and explicit in nature but all of the subjects of his work participated consensually.” What do you think of his explanation? Do you agree that Terry Richardson should be blacklisted because of his reputation?

Farrah Abraham Fashion Model of the Day

If you don’t know anything about Farrah Abraham, and you shouldn’t…it’s that she’s known for having a fashion model body….I mean why else would she be walking the runway…that tall, lean, delicate face…. I mean she’s known for that, fashion model shit, along with being a slutty teen who got pregnant to get on TV, and became famous on a reality show, that couldn’t sustain that fame after the reality show, but was always slutty and figured fucking worked for her before, that’s how she got famous, might as well fuck again in porn with a porn star, and carry out that sex worker life…it’s empowering…pays the bills…keeps people talking about her…when she probably should have done something else than film herself squirting…but I guess girl sees cameras and turns on… Here she is fashion modeling, confusing maybe, but some brands are clever enough to use bottom feeders to add hype to their bullshit…I’d do the same by I can’t afford her 500 dollar or less day rate. Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio Poses in Panties of the Day

Adriana Lima and Alessandra Amrosio – the vintage / expired depending how you look at it…because both are bad to me – this whole vintage just means someone died in it – in this case both models / expired just means someone is past their prime and rotted out from the inside…and both are true…why are these women still working? Is it because fitness, surgery, starvation, face injections allow them to still look tolerable… Is it because their egos, their social medias force them to stay “relevant” in the eyes of whoever makes the decisions? Does it really matter, I mean if anything let’s just hope it upsets older women who don’t look as good as they do, that always leads to insecurities and insecurities lead me me getting nudes…or at the very least blowjobs.
