Sunday on Kourtney & Kim Take New York, Kim Kardashian finally has hubs Kris Humphries living with her in the city … but decides she has more fun when he’s not. Foreshadowing, anyone? Kim, Kourtney and Mason drove on up Connecticut to “escape the paparazzi,” leaving Scott Disick and Kris to their own scripted devices. How did that play out? Find out in our weekly rekap, THG style! Kim and Kourt checking out Mystic, Conn., aquarium with Mason. Nice place. Plus 20 . Kris has been offered “some quick cash” to head up to Toronto and make a club appearance, so off he goes. Kim would be so proud/jealous. Plus 15 . Scott decides to join, saying, “I may go just to prove a point that I’m not whipped.” Dude, the same girl let you knock her up twice with no ring. You’re good. Plus 25 . “I may go just to prove a point that I’m not whipped,” Scott warns Kris, who’s having his photo taken with lots of girls … on a REALITY SHOW. Minus 50 . “Humphries really doesn’t need girls taking pictures with him. So whatever I could do to help out, I will to some extent,” says Scott, ever the altruist. Plus 12 . Kim finds out where they are via Twitter, where someone says, “It’s crazy up in here, Scott Disick and Kris Humphries just walked in.” E! writer, probably. Plus 9 . Even Mason says that’s bad. Plus 6 . Scott, after getting his fade on, can’t wait to use the men’s room and relieves himself in a garbage can. The man is the epitome of class. Plus 14 . Dun-dun-dun! Back in NY: “How would you feel if I went out of the country to work and didn’t tell you?” asks Kim. Trick question: He could just read her Twitter! Minus 8 . “Part of me is not used to being married yet.” – Kris. Don’t get too used to it! Minus 15 . “I went because Kris was going and he asked me to go and I was here alone. You were gone. I was lonely,” explains Scott, slightly more convincingly. Plus 5 . Just like that, Kim’s off to Dubai for “work.” Kris is aware of the trip, but not invited. Her real life partner, Kris Jenner, will be there instead. Minus 10 . Lucky for Kris, Khloe’s in town and hoping to connect with him. At least that’s what the producers told her when they flew her out. Minus 10 more . Kourtney’s number of sexual partners remains a mystery. What a tease. Minus 5 . “Everything in Dubai is so stunning,” says Kimm as she gets escorted into a luxury suite at the Atlantis. “I’m so excited to be here.” No one cares. Minus 30 . Kim gets an A-list star welcoming at the Millions of Milkshakes store opening. People are hanging off the rafters just to see her. So, so sad. Minus 70 . “This is just a pretty special moment.” – Kim. Anything in which she gets attention and money qualifies. Sadly, marriage does not apply. Minus 100 . “I feel like I’m back to myself and I’m really enjoying this feeling.” – Kim Kardashian . You know what they say about that one-month itch … Minus 150 . Things aren’t much better at home. “We really want to get to know Hump, but he’s acting like he’s miserable,” Khloe laments. Wonder why. Minus 40 . “There’s something in my relationship that I feel isn’t right. I’m learning a lot of things about him that I didn’t really know before. And married life isn’t what I thought it would be with him.” – Kim. Why rush to get married then? Minus 500 . “It’s not normal to feel like you don’t want to go home to your brand-new husband. Your dad and I were obsessed with each other.” – Kris. First honest, heartfelt moment of the entire episode closes out the night with a Plus 250 . EPISODE TOTAL: -632. SEASON TOTAL: -3,801.

Mumford & Sons Call New Album ‘A Different Experience’

‘It’s challenging in all the right ways,’ Marcus Mumford tells MTV News about the band’s Sigh No More follow-up. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias Winston Marshall and Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons Photo: MTV News Mumford & Sons have spent most of 2011 working on the follow-up to their breakout Sigh No More album (when they weren’t touring the U.S. by rail , of course). Though they’ve been performing a handful of new songs live, last month they officially unveiled a somber new tune called “Ghosts” during a stop at a Philadelphia radio station. But as the year draws to a close, there’s still no official release date (or even a title) for the new album, which sort of makes sense, especially since they’re still working on it, as the band told MTV News backstage at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles. “We’re still recording. We don’t really like to put any boundaries on it; we’ll keep going until it’s right,” frontman Marcus Mumford said. “It’s definitely a different experience from the first one, as it should be, I think. But it’s been challenging in all the right ways. It’s going well. “I think we just want the songs to be good, and to sound right, and to feel like we’ve expressed everything we want to as straightforwardly and honestly as we can … and we’re working towards that,” he continued. “We’re really enjoying playing the new songs live, and we still feel that our recorded work should be adverts for our live work. The fact that we call it work is a bit pretentious — it’s not work, it’s just playing music with your mates. It’s really fun, and it still is. I think we’re getting on better than we ever have.” Mumford said that the songs on the new album have been inspired by their whirlwind year, which not only saw them break through in the U.S., but found them going to places they never thought they’d go and meeting the kinds of folks they never thought they’d meet. “We’ve been writing as we go, and you can’t deny the fact that our circumstances around us will always affect our writing, so we sometimes intentionally put ourselves in circumstances that we want to be inspired by,” he explained. “We went to Nashville for a couple weeks in January and did some really cool writing there; we felt really happy with some of the stuff that came out of it. We stayed in this little farmhouse and had some friends who are musicians come play with us. We played a house show, just had a really nice time. And then we write on the road in these hectic places with lots of people around, and I suppose we’ve always put in ideas that we pick up from conversations with people, and things that we read and things that we listen to and feel.” Of course, there’s also good news for fans of Sigh No More : From the sound of things, the follow-up isn’t going to stray all that far from that debut. In fact, it’s basically the same songs. After all, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. “If you’re asking whether they’re different from the first album,” multi-instrumentalist Ben Lovett laughed, “what we’ve actually done is taken all the songs from the first album, used all the same chords, some of the same melodies, and just tweaked the lyrics!” Related Artists Mumford & Sons

I really like that this Lacey Scwimmer chick is trying so hard to get my attention, but I’m not sure she’s going about it in the right way. Here she is on the beach in her bikini top, giving us a decent look at the front meat, but did she really need to wear the dirty construction worker jeans? Half of me is really enjoying these shots, my lower half, the other half wants to ask her to help me build a deck or play on my softball team. At least make out with a hot chick or something. #flaccid

Waka Flocka Flame Shooting Investigation Continues

By Gil Kaufman Waka Flocka Flame Photo: MTV News Rapper Waka Flocka Flame escaped unhurt from a gun battle that erupted outside his tour bus in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday, and police are still on the hunt for the assailants. TMZ reported that Waka (born Juaquin Malphurs) was outside his bus when two cars pulled up next to it in the parking lot of Car Stereo Warehouse and opened fire, with four shots hitting the bus. According to an eyewitness, Waka’s security team shot back at the cars and struck at least one of them. Waka, 24, was not hurt in the incident, but was detained by police, who questioned him and three other men after the shoot-out. The rapper tweeted to his followers a short time later, writing “To my fans N world, I’m good, nothing is wrong with my health … See y’all in Cali for all-star #im1realassperson.” The Charlotte Observer reported that the shooting occurred around 4 p.m. as the “No Hands” MC was talking to fans and having his picture taken with them while the stereo on his bus was getting an upgrade. One person was shot in the shoulder, though police have not identified who that victim is. At press time, authorities did not have a motive for the shooting and were reviewing video surveillance recordings from outside the store for clues, but had not charged anyone in the incident. A spokesperson for the Charlotte Police Department could not be reached for comment at press time and the rapper’s spokesperson had not yet returned requests for comment. This isn’t the first time Waka ‘s been involved in gunfire. In January 2010 the rapper was shot in the arm while fighting at a carwash in Georgia over his jewelry. The Atlanta MC turned himself in last month following a December raid at his home that also netted mentor Gucci Mane. He was booked on charges including possession of marijuana and hydrocodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and violation of probation for driving on a suspended license. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga on “Good Morning America” on Thursday Photo: ABC You might have done a double take on Thursday morning (February 17) if you were having your morning coffee while watching “Good Morning America.” Yes, that was Lady Gaga up bright and early, and yes, she did say she was wearing a “latex-condom-inspired outfit” as part of her bid to promote AIDS awareness. Four days after her instantly legendary entrance at the Grammy Awards in an egg-shaped vessel , the singer donned a flesh-colored sheath dress with matching shoes and a sculptural off-white hat to talk with “GMA” host Robin Roberts. “MAC has been fighting for identity and for passion and love and protection for so long,” said Gaga of the MAC brand of cosmetics, which she said raised $34 million last year through its Viva Glam lipstick brand for HIV/AIDS-related causes, some of it courtesy of an ad campaign starring Gaga and singer Cyndi Lauper. The goal this year, said Gaga, again sporting the alien-inspired facial ridges that seem to be part of her latest persona, was to raise $50 million. She then gave Roberts a sample of the taupe lipstick and lip glass that she designed for MAC, which gives 100 percent of Viva Glam proceeds to AIDS/HIV prevention. “I want to get people started at home at a younger age with their children talking about HIV, talking about AIDS, talking about safe sex,” she explained. “My mother talked to me about sex at a young age, and she always taught me to be self-aware — that’s in my new song, ‘Born This Way.’ I say ‘My momma told me when I was young …’ My first experience with my mother that I remember mostly was when she would put her lipstick on in the morning and she would talk to me about life.” The bottom line, self-described activist and social-justice fighter Gaga said, was to speak to the people in your life about safe sex in order to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Gaga also talked about her “genuine shock” at hearing her name called at the Grammys on Sunday night when she won the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance award for “Bad Romance.” “I so genuinely did not think I was going to win,” she said. “I really did, and I was so shocked and so honored and so humbled. And it was a very joyous day to sing ‘Born This Way’ for the first time.” Staying on message, Gaga then tied in the theme of the song with her MAC line, saying it is shame and stigma around the difficulty of talking to children about sex and AIDS that makes people not protect themselves. ” ‘Born This Way’ is about self love, and MAC AIDS Fund is about self love. … It is so much bigger than me,” she said. “It’s not about me at all. The song, when I wrote it, I just knew it was destined to reach so many people all over the world. The actress and her girlfriend, Tasya van Ree, walked the red carpet together at the GLAAD 25th anniversary party in Hollywood on Friday, making her sexuality public. She spoke about the decision to AfterEllen.com , saying, “I’m honored to be a part of GLAAD. I’ve long been a fan and long wanted to be a part of an organization as powerful, as influential and as important as GLAAD. I am acutely aware of the role that the media plays in influencing public opinion and influencing society, and with that awareness comes the burden of responsibility.” The actress went on to explain that her decision to come out has a lot to do with the fact that she doesn’t want anyone to feel like their sexuality is something to be ashamed of. “It’s hard,” she admitted. “I think GLAAD is one of the many reasons that I, as a 24-year-old, can come out. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Ryan Seacrest Photo: MTV News The next season of “American Idol” will see Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler at the judges’ table alongside “Idol” vet Randy Jackson. Fans might expect both Lopez and Tyler to be wild cards in terms of judging the show, but the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, recently explained that someone on the panel is completely out of control. “We added a wild animal to the panel. There will be a wild animal in one of the seats,” Seacrest told MTV News at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball 2010 in Los Angeles over the weekend, not specifying who that person is. “I can’t tell you which wild animal, but it was one that was on the ark. So that’s something that’s new. Yes, there’s a total animal.” Sure, the new judges are one reason to tune in to the coming season, but Seacrest is talking up the talent as well, giving the contestants two thumbs up. “The contestants that we found — we brought more kids back to Hollywood than ever before, there’s like 240 of them, so I think we’ve got a really good shot to find some fantastic [talent],” he explained. Lopez recently opened up about joining the juggernaut of a series, explaining that she’s really enjoying her place alongside Tyler and Jackson. “I love everybody,” she said. “It’s such a machine. It runs like clockwork. I love [executive producer] Nigel [Lythgoe]. I love Ryan [Seacrest]. I love Steven [Tyler]. I love Randy [Jackson]. Everything’s great!” While she’s managing to get along with everyone, judging people is a bit difficult for the singer/actress. “It’s easy when they’re really good and it’s easy when they’re really bad,” she said. “It’s when they’re in the middle. … It’s a really hard process. It just depends how you are in the audition. I think it is a good depiction of how the business is. This time it’s not for reality TV, just reality. Or something. Yeah, right. Weeks after confessing they faked their divorce proceedings, and days after calling his own made-for-TV Hills marriage ceremony a contrived nightmare , Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have said “I do” in their first “real” wedding. Third time’s the charm, right? WEDDINGS PAST AND PRESENT : This time, Speidi swears, it’s legit . Before The Hills aired their union to end its fifth season in the spring of 2009, the couple staged a bogus wedding in Cabo the previous winter. So this is #3. Finally, the gruesome twosome says, it was for love. “It’s just me and my bride on a little secret beach with nobody else, and it’s just about her,” Spencer Pratt told ET of their Sunday vow renewal . “Last time it was about everything else, it was about drama, it was about ratings.” How terrible was that? The poor, victimized couple. Echoes Heidi Montag : “It was about everyone but us, so this is our first wedding about our love. I can finally just be Heidi. I’m just really enjoying every day.” Indeed. How can we possibly argue with such heartfelt emotions from two genuine people deeply in love with publicity each other? Congratulations, we guess.
