Audrey Roloff Skips Jacob Engagement Party, Fuels Feud Rumors

Audrey Roloff often posts about faith and family. But while the Little People, Big World star clearly has a great deal of the former, we’re definitely starting to believe talk that she has some issues with the latter. Specifically, we’re pretty certain Audrey and Jacob Roloff do not get along. Like, at all . Chatter over whether Audrey and her brother-in-law hate each other started circulating in December, back when the Internet realized that they never appear in photos together. Like, ever . This is especially unusual when you consider how often the Roloffs hang out and how often Audrey shares pictures of herself and her loved ones. So, we got to thinking: Why would Audrey and Jacob not get along ? And there are actually a couple obvious reasons: 1. Audrey is VERY open about her strong faith and religion, while Jacob is either agnostic or atheist. He certainly isn’t a practicing Catholic. 2. Jacob is like Holden Caulfield in Catcher in the Rye: he hates phonies. Remember, two years ago he quit Little People, Big World because he couldn’t stand the scripted nature of the series. How does point number-two relate to Audrey? She’s faced some scrutiny from followers who seem to think she exploits her religion to make money . So this all brings us to the latest reason to believe there really is bad blood between Audrey and Jacob. Over this past weekend, the family hosted an engagement party for Jacob and Isabel Rock, about four months after the former proposed to the latter during a trip abroad. And you can guess who didn’t show up, right? Based on photographs shared on Instagram at least, that is? Yup: Audrey Roloff. “We celebrated Jacob and Izzy yesterday! What a great engagement party it was!” Jacob wrote as a caption to the first image in this article. As you can see above, he’s posing with mother Amy, brother Jacob, daughter Ember and… that’s it. Could Audrey simply have had other plans? Absolutely. Could she even have been at the gathering, just not in this picture? Yes. But there’s starting to be a pattern here. Considering the divergent personalities of Audrey and Jacob, it’s not far-fetched that they wouldn’t get along. Nor would it even be that huge of a deal. Who says all in-laws have to get along perfectly well? View Slideshow: Little People, Big World Secrets Exposed: What the Roloffs Won’t Tell You We’re just noting here that there’s yet another example of a rivalry within one of television’s most beloved families. Perhaps Audrey and Jacob will work it out, perhaps not. Perhaps there’s some smoke here, but no fire… although we doubt it because all talk of a feud could be so easily solved if the stars simply posed in the same picture together. Not even side by side. Just in the same frame! Until that happens, however, we’ll continue to speculate and Internet users will continue to ask questions. That’s just how this all works. Audrey Roloff: Sorry, God, I’ll Instagram Less Often!

Audrey Roloff has an important and surprising announcement to make. Actually, before she does so, Audrey Roloff has a precious and adorable photo to share: Perfect, right? How does the Little People, Big World star do anything that doesn’t involve cuddling her daughter, Ember Jean?!? Sadly, however, fans of the reality star may not be seeing many more pictures such as this going forward. Audrey announced as a caption to the cute snapshot that she may be posting less frequently on Instagram going forward. And she share an interesting reason why. “All cozied up with my sweet little Ember. She warms my heart, get it. Snuggling her is my favorite,” opened Roloff. She then delved into more profound and religious detail: “Ok so… I’ve been convicted on something lately… As much as l love sharing my life with y’all and what I’ve learned/am learning, l never want to be someone who spends more time sharing on social media than l do seeking the Lord and searching His truths.” Audrey, of course, has always been very open about her faith . “I know this might sound a little contradictory, cause here l am sharing this, but maybe some of you can relate?” she continued, adding: “In a world that invites us to share share share, l want to seek seek seek. Instead of always reaching for my phone to document a moment or share on social media, l want to be more concerned with seeking God in those moments and listening for what He might have to share with me! This is a common critique of social media, of course. Not the connection to God necessarily, but the fact that some people spend more time documenting their lives than living their lives. “Don’t get me wrong, l love sharing and engaging with you all in this space,” Audrey concluded. “But it should always come second to time with my Creator and redeemer. “I want to be someone who spends more time reading truth, engaging wisdom, and listing for His still small voice, than sharing my own incomplete oversimplified perspectives.” Roloff has also faced a lot of unfair criticism as a result of her frequent Instagram posting. She was somehow dragged online for this simple photo of her daughter, for example. This may explain why Jeremy recently expressed support for his beloved soulmate. “Im so proud of my wife. These last few weeks have been pretty tough on her,” Jeremy wrote yesterday. “(If you watch our stories you know what I’m talking about) But she’s been a trooper and I’m thankful that I have her as a teammate.” Hey, whatever makes you feel happy and content, Audrey. We adore seeing these Ember Jean photos , but we support whatever decision you make in this regard. View Slideshow: Audrey Roloff: This is Why We Named Our Daughter Ember

The Duggars: What Religion Do They Practice?

In recent years, the name Duggar has gone from a synonym for a certain brand of squeaky-clean family-friendly entertainment to something very different. These days, the name is polarizing at best, or at worst, a byword for the sort of hypocrisies and scandals often found at the heart of the most secretive cults. It’s impossible to separate the family’s controversial religious beliefs from their rise to the the near-top of the reality TV totem pole. After all, a great many of the practices that have made the Duggars fascinating to millions of outsiders are rooted in their faith. Of course, it wasn’t so long ago that the same belief system nearly brought the Duggar empire tumbling down like the walls of Jericho. For as much as we know about some specific details of the Duggar creed (sex is for procreation between man and wife only;  women are forbidden to wear pants or hold jobs, etc.), a lot of the larger questions regarding their religion remain sources of debate and speculation. For example, the biggest Duggar-related mystery of all may be a simple but profound one, and have more than one answer:  What religion do they even practice exactly? The family has been accused of giving misleading answers when asked the simple question of what faith they belong to. Remarkably, it’s a question that you’ll never hear the Duggar kids – even the grown, married adults – fielding publicly. Instead, they defer to Jim Bob, who’s stated (on the rare occasions he’s addressed the issue himself) that he and his family are Independent Baptists. Despite their name, Independent Baptists are an ultra-conservative lot with little tolerance for personal freedom. They exist on the fringes of American Christianity, and are not a recognized sect, so much as a loose network of individual congregations. Ultra-conservative televangelist Jerry Falwell abandoned the Independent Baptist Church for the more moderate Southern Baptists. That should tell you all you need to know about how extreme the IB belief system is. Amazingly, the Tontitown, Ark., family falls far to the right of even the most conservative Independent Baptists on most issues. This has led many to the conclusion that Jim Bob is taking his cues from somewhere other than the leadership of the IB Church. To answer the question of where the most extreme Duggar beliefs and practices originate, we need to turn our attention to the Quiverfull  movement. There’s debate as to who founded the movement, but it’s widely agreed that Quiverfull was popularized by the Reverend Bill Gothard in the late 1970s. In 2015,  Gothard resigned  in disgrace from his post with the Quiverfull-centered Institute for Basic Life Principles amidst a flurry of sex assault and harassment allegations. He and his organization have shelled out an undisclosed amount of cash to keep the accusers at bay, but dozens of new allegations have surfaced. In just the past couple of years, the movement’s extreme right-wing beliefs have received such negative attention that the Duggars are keeping their distance. At least to the point where they’re hesitant publicly associate with the Quiverfull movement, though there’s no question that they adhere to Gothard’s teachings. First and foremost, the  Duggars use Quiverfull teaching materials in homeschooling their 19 children (and counting). They also refer to the spiritual teachings of this movement when addressing topics such as sex and sexual abuse: After the first of Josh’s two sex scandals, which involved the molestation of five young girls, including his sisters, the family tried to deal with it “in-house.” When they sent Josh Duggar to rehab after he was outed as an Ashley Madison client, they chose a faith-based facility with the approval of Gothard’s IBLP. The Duggars cut ties with Gothard (publicly, at least) following allegations that he groped and assaulted dozens of young male and female employees. Prior to that, they called the religious leader a close family friend and “an inspiration” as recently as 2014. The most telling sign that the Duggars are Quiverfull devotees, however, is the fact that it was Gothard who first espoused the notion that defines them: That it is the duty of Christians to have as many children as physically possible. Explains USC assistant professor of religion Cavan Concannon. “In the Quiverfull movement, your kids are blessings from God and they are also weapons in the culture war.” “Some people in the movement would say that part of having a lot of kids is an attempt to birth more conservative Christians in a world that doesn’t have enough of them.”  Some have wondered how the Duggars can reconcile their wealth and fame with their devotion to a religion that preaches the importance of poverty and humility. (Recently, Jessa Duggar teaching a seminar on how to dress and act modestly – while charging $20-50 a ticket – illustrated this disconnect.) Simply put, they see themselves as soldiers in an apocalyptic culture war, and they believe that TV is the most important weapon in their arsenal. View Slideshow: 15 Disturbing Things BANNED By the Duggar Family Jesus Christ famously said, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” But Bill Gothard basically said, to read between the lines: There’s power in numbers, so let’s tailor my beliefs to help me expand my following through procreation and mass media to boot . While they often talk about putting God first, the Duggars have left little mystery as to which of these messages they value more.

G.O.M.D: Muhammad Ali Jr. Detained AGAIN By Customs 2 Weeks After Interrogation Over Muslim Name

Muhammad Ali Jr. Was Again Detained Over His Muslim Name As He Was Leaving D.C. It’s been exactly 14 days since Muhammad Ali Jr was accosted by immigration authorities at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after returning from Jamaica with his mother. Ali was interrogated for 20 minutes over his religion and name. Today, the AP is reporting that Ali was AGAIN stopped and questioned by authorities who wanted to confirm is true identity prior to letting him onto the flight. Ironically, Ali was stopped as he was leaving Washington, D.C. following a meeting with lawmakers about his experience being detained and question LAST month in Fort Lauderdale! This s#!t has gotten out of con-f**king-trol! Says the family lawyer Chris Mancini: “None of this was happening Wednesday,” Mancini said in a telephone interview Friday afternoon as he was traveling with the Alis. “Going to Washington obviously opened up a can of worms at DHS.” Florida Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz just happened to be aboard Ali’s flight and had some comments about his poor treatment on Twitter: On way home on DOMESTIC FLIGHT Muhammad Ali Jr. detained AGAIN by @DHSgov . Kourtney Kardashian: See Her Hot Bikini Bod in Costa Rica!

Kourtney Kardashian is, according to many wise, knowledgeable souls, the hottest Kardashian. Hotter than Kim, the OG Kardashian, hotter than Khloe with her Revenge Body, hotter even than Kendall Jenner, the supermodel, and Kylie Jenner, she of the incessant underwear selfies. And that’s largely because Kourtney is also the realest member of the family. Aside from breast implants that she got years ago (and that she’s always been honest about), she’s never had any noticeable plastic surgery. We’re looking at you … uh, the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clain. She’s also known to be blunt and sensible and mature and so many other good things that don’t seem to exist in her sisters. What we’re saying is that Kourtney Kardashian is the best, and we must all bow down to her hot, wonderful self. And we must bow down extra hard based on these new photos from the family’s vacation to Costa Rica. In case you missed it, the whole dang bunch is currently in Costa Rica for some fun in the sun. Well, the whole bunch except for Kanye West , who may not be going any any family vacations with the Kardashians ever again, if we’re to believe the rumors. Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna also sat this one out, for obvious reasons. “Obvious reasons” being the way they are always trashy and dramatic and awful . But Kris Jenner is there with all of her daughters, as well as her boyfriend, Corey Gamble. Kim has her two children, and Tyga’s there with his son, King. Scott is also in attendance, as are his three children with Kourtney. And now that we’ve come back around to Kourtney … check out this unbearably hot look she’s rocking down there in Central America: Super gorgeous, right? And are the high-waisted bottoms covering up the beginnings of a baby bump ? Perhaps. At this point, we’re still not sure what exactly is going on between Scott and Kourtney, but it seems like a good sign for their relationship if he’s on vacation with her, right? Another good sign: he shared this photo of Kourtney, side boob and all, on Instagram: The point of this whole thing is that while there will always be drama in this family, while there will always be heartache and animosity and uncertainty somewhere, we’ll always have the hot swimsuit pics. And goodness, what a comfort that is. View Slideshow: Kourtney Kardashian Gives Us Vacation, Bikini Body Envy in Bahamas

Donald Trump: Celebrities React to Muslim Ban

Donald Trump is officially a terrible person. Well, we've known he was terrible for a good long while now , but his latest move really just takes the whole terrible cake. In case you missed it, Trump just signed an executive order that many are referring to the “Muslim Ban.” The order prevents anyone from Syria, Libya, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia from entering the country. Refugees from these countries, people with visas, people with green cards who have families and careers in the U.S.? If they're abroad for any reason, they can't come back. Also worth noting: though the banning of refugees is temporary, in the future they will be given a “religious test” before entering the country. Christians will receive preference. Oh, and one more thing: Trump is fine with people from predominantly Muslim countries to which he has business ties. It's alarming, it's horrifying, and it obviously discriminatory. See how celebrities are reacting to Trump's order, which is now in effect. 1. Judd Apatow “He doesn’t understand that this will lead to people in America becoming radicalized as a result of his ignorance and cruelty.” 2. Sophia Bush “THESE are the HUMAN BEINGS Trump banned today. REFUGEES fleeing ISIS. Children. Their families. Shame on him. May God help us.” 3. Michael Moore “That the President of the United States would order on Holocaust Memorial Day the banning of a people due to their religion is reprehensible. To our Muslim neighbors in the world: I & tens of millions of others are so very sorry. The majority of Americans did not vote 4 this man.” 4. Jessica Chastain “WW2- USA Turned Away Thousands of Jewish Refugees Fearing That They Were Nazi Spies. TODAY- Trump signs order banning Syrian refugees.” 5. George Takei “The 9/11 attackers were from Saudi Arabia, Egypt & UAE–not the 7 nations in the immigration ban. These all do have Trump properties though.” 6. Andy Richter “What’s happening is repugnant. We’re supposed to be unique, a haven. We’re betraying our heroes.” View Slideshow
