Roseanne Barr Twitter Rant: I’m Gonna Go Do Geriatric Porn!

Roseanne Barr is at it again, going off an amazing rant on Twitter about how she’s done with the TV business and is considering going into porn instead. Porn of the geriatric variety, no less. That’s a direct quote, THGers. “I’m going to start doing porn now-f-ck it-that’s right-geriatric porn. ‪#movingtoPortugal,” the 61-year-old comic actress tweeted.‬ Is Portugal renowned for adult films featuring the AARP crowd? That’s not a rhetorical question, we’re genuinely curious. In any case, she wasn’t done. “I’m never going to work in television again. I’m never going to even attempt it. I feel as if I’ve been insulted / assaulted for over a year,” she went on. “Actually, for many years … from my first reality show to my second and two failed development details. Don’t call me – I won’t call you. I’m gone.” “Not ONE word remained of any ideas I had. I was constantly ‘corrected’ as if I had no track record whatsoever. I’m just enraged over all of it.” It’s unclear what prompted the diatribe, but she was/is pissed! Barr went on to tweet about an unnamed showrunner who went MIA as a part of her “script writing process” and returned with a script she didn’t like. Just when it appeared she was about to call it a night – “anyway, no more drunk tweeting late at night for me!” Roseanne wrote – Barr was back at it. “Hollywood’s always trying to kill their own stars, whether creatively or physically, burying them under psychic stress, greed and gas lighting,” she charged. Sounds pretty terrible, whatever it is she’s going through. Regardless of her future career prospects in geriatric-themed sex films, Barr has been a notable presence on social media in the past few years. Jeffrey Ross Dreses Like Joe Paterno, Cracks Colorado Shooting Jokes at Comedy Central Roast

Jeffrey Ross arrived for the Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne Barr yesterday dressed as Joe Paterno and accompanied by two young boys in only Penn State helmets and a towel. To many, though, this get-up was actually NOT the most offensive act by the comedian during the event. Still wearing his costume, Ross took to the podium and addressed a red-haired Seth Greene with a clear reference to alleged Colorado shooter James Holmes : “Congratulations,” Ross said to Green. “This is actually a really big night for you. You haven’t gotten this much attention since you shot all those people in Aurora.” To a mixture of boos and scattered applause, Ross then added: “I’m kidding! You’re not like James Holmes. At least he’s doing something in a movie theater that people remember.” Zing … ouch … and totally inappropriate ? Ross’ attempt at humor came a week after Dane Cook also made a stand-up joke about the incident, although at least Ross focused his quips on Holmes. Cook actually made fun of the victims. Still, even Roseanne herself said afterward that Ross “crossed the line,” adding: “But comedy is about moving the line… And where is the line in a country that has freedom of speech? Adam Carolla: Women Aren’t Funny!

Adam Carolla, a comedian best known for The Man Show and whose career has sunk to a point where he appeared this year on Celebrity Apprentice , is in serious hot water for comments made to The New York Post . Simply put, Carolla told the newspaper that women are not funny. “They make you hire a certain number of chicks, and they’re always the least funny on the writing staff,” Carolla said of Hollywood. ‘The reason why you know more funny dudes than funny chicks is that dudes are funnier than chicks. If my daughter has a mediocre sense of humor, I’m just gonna tell her, ‘Be a staff writer for a sitcom. Because they’ll have to hire you, they can’t really fire you, and you don’t have to produce that much. It’ll be awesome.'” Was Carolla worried about backlash when he made this statement? No, he added. “When you’re picking a basketball team, you’ll take the brother over the guy with the yarmulke. Why? Because you’re playing the odds. When it comes to comedy, of course there’s Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey, Kathy Griffin – super-funny chicks. But if you’re playing the odds? No. “If Joy Behar or Sherri Shepherd was a dude, they’d be off TV. They’re not funny enough for dudes. What if Roseanne Barr was a dude? Think we’d know who she was? Honestly.” Of course, the backlash came instantly… and humorously, largely from female comedians. To wit, via Twitter: Lena Dunham : “Wait, Adam Carolla, is he the one who did the voice of the parrot in Aladdin??? He makes me giggle.” Jenny Johnson : “The biggest impact this whole Adam Carolla scandal has had is discovering 95% of people have no idea how to spell ‘Carolla.” Danielle Corsetto : “In an ironic twist, ‘women aren’t funny’ ranked number one funniest thing Adam Carolla has ever said.” Molly McAleer : “I don’t take Adam Carolla saying women aren’t funny seriously. He once told a caller on Loveline to eat a used tampon, y’know?” Which gender do YOU think is funnier?

Because it’s always good to remember that when you’re judging famous people on Twitter , they sometimes read it (and weep), Jimmy Kimmel corralled a gaggle of comedians and comic actors to read some of the meanest Tweet-critiques they’ve received for the camera. Roseanne Barr Reality Show: Coming to Lifetime

Roseanne Barr, a washed-up comedian whose most relevant pop culture appearance in the last decade took place in a Snickers Super Bowl spot this year, will soon anchor a new Lifetime reality show. The reasons why are unclear. But the network has ordered 16 episodes of a series that will follow Roseann’s life as the head of a macadamia and live stock farm in Hawaii. Longtime boyfriend Johnny Argent and son Jake will also appear. “Roseanne Barr is an undeniable force of nature and the idea of following her in this unique premise excited us from the get-go, ” Lifetime president and general manager, Nancy Dubuc, said in a statement. “Roseanne is funny and brutally honest, and our audience will relate to her decision to go on this adventure and create an entirely new life for herself.” Are you excited for the return of Roseanne?
