Handler — best known for her exploits on the outrageous late-night talk show “Chelsea Lately” and her three best-selling, brutally honest (and brutally funny) books — won’t pull any punches on VMA night. She’ll also be making a little history, becoming only the second woman to fly solo as VMA host and the first since 1994, back when Roseanne Barr lorded over the proceedings. She’ll join a rapidly growing roster of performers (including Kanye West , Florence and the Machine , B.o.B and Justin Bieber ) and presenters (Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Ashley Greene and Ne-Yo) for the big show. Roseanne Barr on Friday said leaders of the Nazi Party such as Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels, and Heinrich Himmler were all Jewish. In the comedienne’s latest anti-Semitic rant , she also claimed that many Palestinians are Jewish and were “driven out of their homes by a cheney-ized [sic] Judeo Christian Bushite America.” Further demonstrating her serious need for counseling, Barr said Nazi scientists “successfully created a mutant human–a hybrid of Jewish mentality and German Resolve, the Zionist.” Readers are cautioned before proceeding as this is seriously disturbed stuff (h/t NB reader Consigliere5):  Many of the Palestinian people are jewish and became christian after Israel stole their land and homes. Nicolette Sheridan is suing Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry for assault , battery, gender discrimination and wrongful termination. Welcome to The Hollywood Gossip ‘s Week in Review, where we take a look back at the past week in celebrity gossip, entertainment news and rumors. What was your favorite story of the week? Anything in particular stand out or get you fired up? Some highlights from February 27-March 5 include … Crystal Bowersox looks poised for a run on American Idol , as do Aaron Kelly and Michael Lynche. The week’s eliminations were mostly on point. Jake Pavelka chose Vienna Girardi on The Bachelor finale. They are engaged. Tenley Molzahn? crushed. Ali Fedotowsky? The Bachelorette . Oh, and Jake was somehow named to the Dancing with the Stars cast right afterward. Then accused of cheating on Vienna with Tanya Douglas . Kate Gosselin will also be on DWTS this season. Jon Gosselin made news this week too, after Hailey Glassman posted this picture on Twitter. The Bachelor. Dancing with the Stars. West Hollywood. Jake is everywhere. Elin Woods is moving back in with Tiger. Admirable or pathetic? Adam Lambert revelations of the week, drug use, bi-curiosity . Naomi Campbell needs to chill with the phone attacks . Same goes for the Jackson kids and stun guns . Yeesh. Erica Mongeon (a.k.a. one of the Ikki Twins) is in a coma . Ke$ha called out Britney for lip-synching. She makes a point. WTF Alert: Roseanne Barr Blames Suicide of Marie Osmond’s Son on Sexual Preference, Church

Late last month, the 17-year old son of Marie Osmond jumped from his Los Angeles apartment building and killed himself . It was a tragic event and the reaction of most celebrities was to pass along their sympathy to the family before politely leaving the Osmonds alone. Except for Roseanne Barr, that is. The former sitcom star has taken to her blog and randomly cited Marie’s son’s homosexuality as the basis for his death, placing a lot of blame on the Osmond’s church and pretty much calling Marie a liar. She wrote the following: marie osmonds poor gay son killed himself… because he had been told how wrong and how sick he was every day of his life by his church and the people in it. Calling that “depression” is a lie! Yet the Osmonds still talk lovingly about their church, saying nothing about its extremely anti-gay Crusade. Marie also has a gay daughter! Hey, I want her and all the gay kids in the world to know that they are just fine being gay and that they deserve love and respect instead of insults and rebuke! I have gay people in my family and my circle of friends and I am kicking bigot ass and taking names! She continued: Marie please don’t talk about how your faith in your church has helped you get through this one! Please get some integrity and tell that church of yours that you will leave it and stop giving it ten percent of your money if they don’t stop trying to destroy your kids’ and all gay people’s civil rights and dreams and hopes!! G-d is trying to use you for something good and this is your opportunity! Your church is wrong and on the wrong wrong wrong side of things! Get as vocal about that as you are about your diet. G-d bless you too, Marie. The only reaction we can come up with to this: WTF?!? Who calls out the mother of a son that just committed suicide?!?
