Maci Bookout Defends Keeping Son Away From Ryan Edwards: I WILL Protect Bentley!

Now that Ryan Edwards has completed a stint in rehab, Maci Bookout is opening up about her struggle with his well-documented addiction. Specifically, with regard to co-parenting their son. If you watch Teen Mom OG online , you were privy to one of the more surprising and disturbing storylines in recent memory this season. Maci worried repeatedly about Ryan’s drug use, causing tension between herself, his fiance Mackenzie Standifer, and Edwards’ parents. Then, on the finale, Ryan married Mackenzie in a makeshift, parking lot wedding attended only by its officiant and Ryan’s mom and dad. Oh, and Ryan drove high to the wedding .  So high, in fact, that he appeared to nod off behind the wheel, resulting in widespread fan criticism of both Mackenzie and MTV itself. A Teen Mom crew member defended this  with an interesting explanation, but regardless, no one came away from this looking good. Fortunately, the dust has settled a bit since. Ryan is out of rehab, and while Mackenzie and Maci are still feuding  over the finale, Bookout offered a positive update on his condition. “Yeah I knew there was an issue in the past,” Bookout said after watching the disturbing scenes play out like the rest of us this summer. “I didn’t know it was anything like it was.” Also like the rest of us, when Maci learned that the father of her first-born child would be going to rehab, she felt a strong sense of relief. “I felt like a completely different person right away,” she said, adding that he is “where he needs to be” these days after receiving treatment. “I knew the cloud over me, and all of us, was big, dark and heavy, but I just didn’t know how big, dark and heavy it was until it was gone.” Throughout the season, Bookout admits that she received advice from an addiction counselor who advised her to use Bentley as leverage. Surely, she would prefer not to use those words, but if he refused to get help for his obvious drug problem, she felt she had zero choice. As for whether she’s still playing that card? “I’m going to do my best to not discourage him, but also keep my child safe,” Maci said, implying that she’s leaving all options on the table. Clearly, there are unresolved issues between the ex-couple (and his current wife), as this isn’t a situation that can be swept under a rug. On the Teen Mom OG reunion, Mackenzie came out swinging against Bookout, accusing her of being an exploitative enabler basically: “Maci you told me to my face merely days after I had informed you that Ryan was seeking help that you have known about his problem.” Not only did she know, Mackenzie said, but she knew “since November… that was 186 days he could’ve died and still you said nothing.” “You let everyone know that you feared for his life while concurrently exploiting Ryan’s addiction on the show,” Standifer said pointedly. She continued, “Helping Ryan doesn’t mean talking about all of his problems on national television, it means being supportive.” A good partner or co-parent would refrain from “kicking someone down,” she says, and ” respect the privacy we all so graciously deserve .” Bookout called that “ridiculous” and told Standifer she shouldn’t have signed up for a reality show if she wanted more privacy than this. Hopefully, cooler heads prevail going forward and Ryan sticks with his out-patient treatment, for Bentley’s sake and all of theirs as well. Michael Bond Dies; Paddington Bear Creator Was 91

You can be aware of something your whole life without knowing anything about its creator. Paddington Bear’s creator, Michael Bond, has died at age 91. He passed away at home after a brief illness. On December 24th, 1956, Michael Bond noticed a lonely-looking stuffed bear sitting on a shelf. On impulse, he bought it for his wife. Inspired, he wrote A Bear Called Paddington in just 10 days. On October 13th, 1958, that book was published. But that was only the beginning. Paddington Bear’s adventures in books have been ongoing. The last story about the marmalade-loving bear, titled Paddington’s Finest Hour , came out in April. It’s not uncommon for authors to keep publishing until their dying days. Needless to say, it’s very rare for an author to continue writing for 61 years. Not to mention having such a degree of success and a cultural impact that spans the globe. Michael Bond had an Order Of The British Empire, which is like an Order of Merlin from Harry Potter, except real. (I was a kid when Harry Potter came out and there are a lot of things that I thought were wizard things that turned out to just be British) The Duke of Cambridge himself presented Bond with the award in an Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace. This was only two years ago. HarperCollins issued a statement about Michael Bond’s passing: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Michael Bond, CBE, the creator of one of Britain’s best-loved children’s characters, Paddington, died at home yesterday aged 91 following a short illness.” Michael Bond’s own daughter, Karen Jankel, also spoke about her late father: “It’s a shock to everybody. For me, he was the most wonderful father you can imagine, so obviously our loss is personal.” Of course. So many people think of their favorite singers or actors or writers with regard to their art, celebrity status, and creations. It’s too easy to forget that they’re real people with families and personal relationships that have nothing to do with their craft. Karen, however, seems very aware of her father’s global cultural impact, and her statement includes a nod to that: “But it’s wonderful that he’s left the legacy of his books and Paddington that will live on for ever, which is really very special.” “The whole world is lucky to have had him … Paddington himself is so real to all of us. He’s still a part of our family and we’re very lucky.” We can’t imagine how hard it is to to tailor your response to fans while you’re still grieving. Karen Jankel continues, honoring her father’s work. “For him, writing was his life. It was wonderful he could continue writing until the end,” she said. “Because … Paddington and his other characters were so real to him, he became alive to everybody else.” But she doesn’t leave out his character. “You can tell just by reading his books what a lovely person he was. I never came across anybody who disliked my father.” View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2017: In Memoriam “He was one of those people that people instinctively warmed to and he was as funny as a person and delightful as he was in his writing and as a father.” That is incredibly touching. A lot of people grew up with Paddington Bear, and most of them are old enough to appreciate the joy that this man’s creation brought them as children. Future children will enjoy Paddington Bear all the same — that’s the magic of creating a legacy like that.

Ryan Edwards Drug Use Shocker: Was He Caught Shooting Up?

If you watch Teen Mom: OG online , then by now you’re likely familiar with the ongoing drama surrounding Ryan Edwards’ substance abuse issues. Edwards checked into rehab last month, but not before creating some of the most appalling scenes in the franchise’s history as a result of his addictions. The most recent TM:OG season finale offered viewers a glimpse at Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer’s wedding – a grim, rushed affair that was attended only by Edwards’ parents. Even more surprising than the sullen nature of the occasion, of course, was the manner in which Edwards and Mackenzie arrived at the chapel. A visibly intoxicated Ryan drove himself and his fiancee to the church. He was so high that he frequently nodded off behind the wheel, and Standifer switched off the dash camera, so as to prevent viewers from seeing just how inebriated Edwards really was. On social media, there was a wild uproar from fans over the decision to let Edwards drive under the influence . (Both Standifer and MTV have taken considerable flak for the scene.) Now, eagle-eyed viewers have noticed that further cause for concern was captured on camera in the controversial episode. In several screen grabs from the finale it appears as though Edwards may have recently used intravenous drugs. During the controversial scene in the car, Standifer accuses Edwards of taking Xanax before his wedding ceremony, but now it looks as though even those whom he’s closest to did not realize the severity of Ryan’s drug problem. Dr. Pawan Grover, an addiction specialist who has not treated Edwards tells Radar Online that footage from the show seems to indicate that Ryan had been injecting some sort of substance , most likely of the opioid variety. “Based on Edwards’ history with addiction issues on the show, the images are consistent with track marks,” says Dr. Grover. “Which is a tell-tale sign of chronic intravenous drug use.” Fortunately, Edwards conpleted treatment for his addictions earlier this month. Unfortunately, he remained in in-patient care for a scant four weeks and announced his release with a brutal social media attack on his son’s mother, Maci Bookout. Many fans are taking that as an indication that Ryan has yet to address all of his demons. We’ll have further updates on this story as more information becomes available. Teen Mom Fans to Mackenzie Standifer: Why Did You Let Ryan Edwards Drive High?!

If you watched last night’s episode of Teen Mom: OG then you know that Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer tied the knot in a ceremony that was captured by an MTV camera crew. And you also know Ryan and Mackenzie’s wedding was one of the saddest in reality TV history, with more cameramen on hand than actual guests. The wedding was a rush job, planned with the goal of giving Ryan a leg up in upcoming custody negotiations with his ex, Maci Bookout. Just days after tying the knot, Edwards checked into rehab to receive treatment for persistent substance abuse issues. At the time of the wedding, however, it appears he was still using. And to the shock of many viewers, he drove to the ceremony while visibly intoxicated. Fans of the show took to social media to express their outrage that no one intervened to stop Ryan from operating a vehicle and getting married, all while so high that he struggled to keep his eyes open. “Ryan was wasted, his mom was crying, and Mackenzie was standing there the whole time without a care in the world right before they got married,” wrote one fan on The Hollywood Gossip ‘s Facebook page . “Seems she’s in it for the fame and the money and doesn’t care how it’s affecting anybody in Ryan’s family. Everything about her that they showed last night was sad and desperate on her part.” Others blamed MTV for allowing the potentially deadly scene to continue: “I was absolutely stunned that MTV kept filming when Ryan was driving under the influence of drugs, putting other people’s lives at risk but as long as they get their ratings,” one viewer commented, adding: “Unbelievable, the show is a joke now.” Other fans focused on the fact that Ryan made one of the most important decisions of his life while high out of his mind, and there’s a very good chance he doesn’t remember his own wedding day: “He is in rehab, but honestly I wouldn’t want to marry anyone who isn’t sober at the times our vows are made,” wrote one viewer. “I felt bad for his parents and Kenzie seeing it his mom wasn’t crying bc other people weren’t there it was bc of the state of being her son was in.” Some fans accused Mackenzie of enabling Ryan along with his parents, Others encouraged Maci to continue to fight to limit Ryan’s visitation rights. View Slideshow: Teen Mom Couples: RANKED From Worst to First! One viewer may have summed up the sentiments best, writing: “I was in total shock and seriously couldn’t believe what I saw. I’ve watched EVERY episode for YEARS. This…by far… was the craziest.” Watch Teen Mom online to relive the many struggles that brought Ryan to where he is today.

Maci Bookout Gives Update on Ryan Edwards: How’s He Doing After Rehab?!

Ryan Edwards … he’s had an eventful month, huh? First, the whole world learned about his worsening drug addiction, thanks to a tearful confession from Maci Bookout on Teen Mom OG. We not only learned that he was doing drugs, but that things had recently taken a turn for the worse. Things were so bad that Maci was scared she’d wake up one morning to the news that he’d died. Then, a few days after that episode aired, we learned that Ryan had gone off to rehab to work on his addiction. But just before he left, he married Mackenzie Standifer . Oh, and Mackenzie may or may not be losing custody of her three-year-old son thanks to the revelation of Ryan’s drug use. It’s a lot, right? Over the weekend, after roughly a month in rehab, Ryan resurfaced in some Instagram photos — he attended a music festival in Chattanooga with Mackenzie and a friend. So it would seem like he’s completed rehab . It would also seem like he’s still a jackass, since one of the first social media posts he made after his release was a meme slamming Maci. You remember, the super classy, not at all offensive Martin Luther King photo, along with text that read “I have a dream that one day my psycho baby’s mama will shut the f-ck up.” But despite that unnecessary, uncalled for move, Maci says in a new interview that Ryan is doing well these days. “We’re all just taking it one day at a time, one step at a time,” she tells Life & Style. “Ryan is doing good. He’s doing what he needs to do and that’s all any of us can ask right now. We’re just trying to make sure he stays focused on himself.” She adds that he doesn’t have to worry about staying clean on his own, because “he’s got me.” He’s also got his brand new wife and his parents, but sure, it’s also good that he has his “psycho baby’s mama” on his side, too. Maci tells the magazine that these past few months have “definitely been a roller coaster,” but she’s determined to help Ryan for Bentley’s sake. “In times like these,” she explains, “if you feel like you are running out of strength, you just have to keep digging deeper.” She also had some words for her admittedly amazing husband, Taylor McKinney, who she’s said has been her rock during this tough time. “He’s my best friend and knows everything about me,” she gushes. “It’s definitely nice to have him there with me and to listen to me or to give me advice or to just be present. He is a great, great guy.” View Slideshow: Teen Mom Dads, Husbands & Boyfriends Ranked: Who’s #1?! It really sounds like it. It also sounds like Ryan has a good support system, so hopefully rehab will take for him this time.

Kylie Jenner: Did Tyga Just Release a Diss Track About Her?!

Can you believe that it’s been nearly three months now since Kylie Jenner and Tyga broke up ? At first it seemed too good to be true, and now … well, it still seems that way. It’s just that Tyga has always been so gross, and even if he and Kylie stayed together for years, he’ll always be a guy in his mid-20s with a child who hooked up with a young, impressionable teenager . And, much like a phoenix, Kyga has always had the ability to rise from the ashes after being destroyed. They could get back together at any time, and we need to be prepared for that. It’s just all very creepy, and we’re still not out of the creepy woods, that’s what we’re saying. Oh, and speaking of creepy things and Tyga and Kylie’s mutual obsession with each other , have you heard his new song yet? It’s called “Playboy,” and it really, really sounds like it’s about the littlest Jenner — and like Tyga is not even remotely over her yet. For instance, in the hook, Tyga brags about having the tenacity of a porn star and a drug dealer, because he’s such a catch, right? Then he goes “She a superstar and got it bad for me.” “If I hang up she call right back to me, you cut her legs off she crawl right back to me.” Name one other girl who could possibly be considered a “superstar” that’s ever given Tyga the time of day. You can’t, can you? Tyga also gets pretty graphic in the song, rapping about how in addition to this girl keeps crawling back to him , “she really crawl, lift my balls and lick the whole sack for me.” If you’re not dead yet, there’s more. “If I ain’t poppin’,” he asks, “why the paparazzi flashin’ me? Can you answer me? I call it playboy tenacity.” We call it “weaseling your way into the Kardashian family and using their fame for your own gain,” but sure, whatever. Another line that seems to be about Kylie is “More money, more problems but the money make it better. I ain’t tryna f-ck and that just f-cked her head up.” It sounds like the whole song is about a girl who simply can’t seem to help herself in coming back to Tyga, over and over again. She’s got it bad, she can’t get over him, she keeps crawling back to him and gets upset if he won’t pay attention to her. If that isn’t the saddest, most accurate description of Kylie Jenner, then what is? View Slideshow: Tyga: 15 Times He Proved He Was a GIANT Dirtbag

Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer: MARRIED!

So this is an interesting development. You know how Ryan Edwards has a whole, whole lot going on in his life right now? Maci Bookout just revealed on Teen Mom OG something that fans have been speculating about for a long, long time now: he’s in the midst of a nasty battle with drug addiction . On the show, she said that things were so bad that she was scared that he’d end up dead if he didn’t get help. But now we know that he is getting help: a new report we discussed just earlier today explains that he’s in rehab , and he’s been there for two weeks now. And now we’re learning that just before he went to rehab, he got married. Feel free to take a moment to process all this, we know it’s a lot. Ryan married his fiancée of six months, Mackenzie Standifer, in Hamilton County, Tennessee on May 15th. It was a religious ceremony officiated by a minister, and right now those are the only details we know about the wedding. As we’ve seen on Teen Mom OG, Ryan and Mackenzie had been looking around for venues and planning a big wedding for this fall. In a registry the couple made , the original wedding date was listed as November 18th. But obviously they decided to move things ahead a bit. Considering the facts of the situation — the wedding was moved up so fast with little notice, it was held on a Monday, Ryan was on drugs at the time — it couldn’t have been a big affair. And honestly, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Why would Ryan get married immediately before going to rehab? If he’s already been in treatment for two weeks, he would have to have left a few days, at most, after the wedding. Why not wait until he was clean, especially if they’d already been planning something together? It’s hard to say, and it looks like we won’t be getting any information from Mackenzie: as of this morning, she’s made all of her social media accounts private. Another strange thing is that Mackenzie filed for divorce from her first husband last July — less than a year ago. The divorce was finalized days before Ryan proposed , and now she’s on her second marriage at the tender age of 20. Additionally, we learned yesterday that Ryan’s drug addiction may be affecting the custody arrangement for her three-year-old son, Hudson. It’s all just very, very curious. View Slideshow: Teen Mom Dads, Husbands & Boyfriends Ranked: Who’s #1?! Whatever the reason for the rushed wedding, we wish Ryan and Mackenzie a lifetime of happiness and, especially for Ryan, good health. What a roller coaster.

Mackenzie Standifer Losing Custody of Son Over Ryan Edwards’ Drug Use?!

As we learned on the latest episode of Teen Mom OG, things aren’t going so well for Ryan Edwards. And apparently they haven’t been going well for a long, long time. For a while now, Ryan, ex-boyfriend of Maci Bookout and father of Bentley, has been acting a bit off . Every time we see him, his eyes are bugging out of his head, and we’ve seen him disappear from home for hours at a time to, as his family claims, “go to the bank.” He rarely speaks, he doesn’t act anything like he used to, and also there was a moment in time where he killed a bunch of cats . Fans of the the show have theorized that drugs are to blame for his bizarre behavior, and as Maci explained, those fans are right. During their Puerto Rico vacation, the topic of Ryan came up, and Amber Portwood told her that, based on personal experience, she can tell that Ryan has been “f-cked up” lately. And Maci agreed. “I talk to Taylor about it like, ‘I wonder if today’s going to be the day that Ryan does something that he can’t come back from ?'” she said through tears. “I’m just sick of cleaning up his mess. I get tired of dealing with the sh-t. Just being the only one that f-cking sees everything and cares.” It seemed to be weighing heavy on Maci that she’s apparently the only one in Ryan’s life willing to speak out about his problem and try to get him help. If that’s true, it’s a sad situation, since Ryan has two very involved parents as well as his fiancée, Mackenzie Standifer . Ryan and Mackenzie haven’t been together all that long: she filed for divorce from her first husband, Zachary Stephens, in July of 2016. She also shares a three-year-old son named Hudson with Stephens. And here’s where things start to get a little complicated. Mackenzie has custody of her son, and she lives with Ryan, which is a little alarming, considering his apparently serious drug problem. But in April, Mackenzie and her ex-husband went to court, and there was a pretty interesting development. When their divorce was finalized, Stephens was ordered to pay Mackenzie $503 a month in child support. Then, in April — soon after Maci discovered the truth about Ryan — things were changed so that Mackenzie now pays Stephens $245 a month in child support. Does that mean that she lost custody of her son, either full or partial? And could it have anything to do with her choice to house her son with a drug addict? According to a statement Mackenzie made on Instagram this week, she has “full custody” of the little boy. … Then why would she pay child support? It doesn’t make much sense, but then again nothing Mackenzie has been saying this week makes much sense. Remember, when someone asked her on Twitter if she’s “ready to spend the rest of your life wondering if [Ryan] is high,” she said “Well I am ready to spend the rest of my life not worrying about ignorant comments.” Like, chill, honey, you’re the one marrying a creep like Ryan Edwards.
