Sheryl Crow is a breast cancer surviving 50 year old rockstar who used to push performance enhancing drugs on Lance Armstrong because she made him feel inadequate as a one testicled biker, forcing him to over compensate and break records on a bike, you know to feel like a man… I guess the good news about her breast cancer, is that she’s still got an ass worth eating, and she’s broadcasting it on the internet, letting all the other 50 years old women see what not having kids does to a woman….and that is nothing but good things…. I figure ego to procreate isn’t worth the sacrifice that is your body…. Dr. Alessandro Olivi tells MTV News the diagnosis shouldn’t change Crow’s lifestyle: ‘She can still sing!’ By Kara Warner Photo: Bryan Steffy/Getty Images Despite the severity of the news that Sheryl Crow has been diagnosed with a brain tumor , the good news is that the type of tumor, a meningioma, is non-cancerous. MTV News caught up with Dr. Alessandro Olivi, a professor of neurosurgery and director of the Meningioma Center at Johns Hopkins University, who spoke very positively about Crow’s prognosis. “If they elected to observe it [and not perform surgery], that means the tumor is an incidental finding and considered, like it is in the majority of these cases, biologically favorable,” Olivi said. “It’s benign and doesn’t need to come out, because it’s not causing any problems and can be monitored safely.” Olivi, who also serves as the vice chairmen of the department of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, went on to say that doctors don’t yet know what specifically causes the tumors, just that they tend to occur in women and that estrogen might play a role. “We don’t know what causes them. We know that there is preponderance in women over men. Some people have said it’s related to estrogen. There might be some receptor, but not to the point where I would say to change hormone treatment,” he said. “For example, with menopause, you produce less estrogen and people are on hormone replacement. I don’t consider that a reason not to do it. In other words, the correlation [between estrogen and meningioma] is loose. We don’t know in reality what the cause is. The good thing is that in the vast majority, they are self-limiting, and the biological behavior is not one of an aggressive cancer.” Speaking to how the tumor will affect Crow’s day-to-day lifestyle moving forward, Olivi said she’ll likely only need routine checkups. “She just needs to do what she is told as far as monitoring and imaging, which will probably be once every six months if everything is OK and can be moved up to once a year,” he said. “But no change in lifestyle; she can still sing!” Related Artists Sheryl Crow

A U.S. senator praised pending legislation proposing a nationwide ban on “bath salts,” a dangerous synthetic drug that officials believe led to the recent ” zombie apocalypse ” bloodbath in Miami where Rudy Eugene ate most of Ronald Poppo’s face. “Dangerous drugs like bath salts are terrorizing communities and destroying lives,” Sen. Chris Coons (D) said Monday. “Stricter measures must be taken to stem the growing prevalence of bath salts and other new designer drugs.” Bath salts were on the rise long before Eugene (below) struck. A number of calls to poison centers concerning “bath salts” rose 6,138 in 2011 from 304 in 2010, according to the American Association of Poison Control Centers. More than 1,000 calls have been made so far this year. These so-called bath salts, not to be confused with aromatherapy / cleansing products, are an inexpensive, synthetic, super-charged form of speed. The drug consists of a potpourri of constantly changing chemicals, three of which – mephedrone, MDPV and methylone – are banned by the DEA. Bath salts are easily available online, and come in brand names such as “Purple Wave,” “Zoom” or “Cloud Nine.” A 50-milligram pack sells for $25-50. The drugs create a condition officials call “excited delirium” that makes users paranoid, violent and unpredictable … as Miami police know all too well. An officer shot and killed Rudy Eugene a week ago after he was allegedly feasting on the face of Ronald Poppo , a homeless man, on a busy highway. Police are investigating whether the drugs found in bath salts were in the alleged attacker’s system; that may not be confirmed for a few weeks. This case is not the first time police have had to respond to people high on the drug committing illegal acts or exhibiting dangerous behavior. In July 2010, Carey Shane Padgett of Roanoke County, Va., allegedly beat his friend Cara Marie Holley to death. He later claimed he took bath salts. In April 2011, investigators determine that Army Sgt. David Stewart was under the influence of bath salts when he killed himself, his wife and their son. Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen said he was disturbed by the affects on an unidentified Florida teen who he witnessed high on bath salts. In most cases, the active ingredients are a central nervous system stimulant that acts something like a mix of methamphetamine and cocaine. It’s a dangerous situation, leading to a high that some drug abuse experts describe as up to 13 times more potent than cocaine. The altered mental status it brings can lead to panic attacks, agitation, paranoia, hallucinations and violent behavior. The Senate passed legislation last month to make the sale of bath salts illegal , and Coons, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, urged “the House-Senate conference committee to preserve the measure during its negotiations this month.”
Following the conviction of William Balfour for murdering three members of her family, Jennifer Hudson released a statement that passed along prayers to Balfour’s family and thanked her fans for their love and support. At a charity event in New York for the Samsung Hope for Children last night, meanwhile, Hudson spoke out about the verdict for the first time. “It’s definitely changed me and put me in the mindset of a mom, and, as before, it makes you think of the future of our children,” Hudson told E! News, bringing the topic back to the cause at hand and also her own charity, the Julian King Foundation. “This is the perfect place to do that; it’s like starting a new beginning and closing a chapter.” Jennifer’s charity benefits underprivileged children in the Chicago area and she will hold a fundraiser for it on her late nephew’s birthday, August 14. But Hudson is also focused on her future as an artist and a singer. “I’m getting started on my third album this summer, and I have a few films in the works. I’m now just getting back out there and into my rhythm again, so one day at a time.”

Sheryl Crow may just wanna have fun, but medical diagnoses continue to get in the way. A rep for the former Grammy winner and breast cancer survivor confirmed today that Crow is suffering from meningioma, a treatable, benign brain tumor. The artist accidentally spilled the sick beans herself last night while talking to Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Doug Elfman. “I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor,” Crow told the journalist . “And I was, like, ‘See? I knew there was something wrong.’ I haven’t really talked about it… But it’s benign, so I don’t have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit.” A recent case in point: when the singer forget the lyrics to “Soak Up the Sun” during a concert in Florida. “She is doing great and is healthy and happy,” Crow’s rep says to E! News. “Half of us are walking around with [meningioma] but you don’t really know unless you happen to have an MRI. [Crow] has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone.”
Mila Kunis has come up with a new, effective way to distract the gossip world from buzzing over a rumored romance : save the life of a 50-year old employee inside your home. Authorities tell TMZ that’s exactly what happened on Saturday, as an unidentified man who works for Kunis collapsed at her Los Anegles residence, seizing, choking and coughing up blood. The actress reportedly rushed into action, telling a friend to dial 911 and turning over the man’s head )so that he wouldn’t choke), while another friend shoved a wallet into his mouth to prevent tongue swallowing. Talk about quick thinking! Paramedics eventually arrived on the scene and transported the man to the hospital, where he’s already made a full recovery. Nothing on tape here,” she joked with the crowd during the flub, adding: “I’m 50 what can I say!
