Lorna Elizabeth Tuck Colbert – the mother of Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert, along with 10 others – passed away on Wednesday. She was 92 years old. According to an obituary in South Carolina’s Post and Courier , Lorna was an artist , businesswoman and church leader. She lost her husband and two kids in a 1974 plane crash, while another child died in a separate incident, leaving her survived by her remaining eight kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In February of last year, Stephen Colbert took a few days leave of absence to deal with an ill Lorna, only to return and give her a subtle shout-out in his first new show back: “Evidently, having 11 children makes you tough as nails,” he said. “Confidential to a lovely lady.” We send the Colbert family our thoughts and prayers.

David Cross once took a hit of cocaine while sitting just a few feet away from President Barack Obama. The Arrested Development star makes this admission in the March issue of Playboy , referring to the 2009 White House Correspondents Dinner and explaining to the magazine: “I ducked under the table and did it. It wasn’t like I got high. The jolt was similar to licking an empty espresso cup. It wasn’t about that. It was just about being able to say that I did it, that I did cocaine in the same room as the President.” The White House Correspondents Dinner is an annual event, hosted by comedians such as Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert, during which the President lets loose with a joke-laden speech that typically takes aim at opponents such as Donald Trump . Why did Cross make such a daring move during it? For specifically that reason: he and a friend had a wager over who could be the most audacious. Cross doesn’t regret his actions, but he does feel bad about dragging girlfriend Amber Tamblyn into it. “I was her date, her plus-one, and she got dragged through the mud because of what I did,” the actor said. “She had nothing to do with it. Stephen Colbert’s The Colbert Report will resume taping today after a three-day hiatus prompted by the poor health of the mother of the Comedy Central host. The political satirist canceled two shows last week without explanation to travel to Charleston, South Carolina, when he heard his 91-year-old mom, Lorna, was sick. Looks like the Super PAC is back in effect as of this evening, though. Stephen Colbert Super PAC Ad (Ft. Samuel L. Jackson) Comedy Central announced on Sunday afternoon that taping will resume on Monday, and new episodes of The Colbert Report are expected to air all week. The dedicated family man, one of 11 children, who lost his dad and two brothers in a plane crash in 1974, responded to his fans’ recent support on Twitter. “My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers. We are grateful and touched by your concern,” he wrote.

By Kara Warner Joe Jonas Photo: MTV News Jet-setting actor/musician Joe Jonas has once again made time in his busy schedule for a little stop through Cleveland — “Hot in Cleveland,” that is, the popular show on TV Land starring Valerie Bertinelli, Betty White, Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves. Jonas has a guest-starring role on the sitcom as the wayward son of Bertinelli’s character. MTV News was lucky enough to visit the set of “Cleveland” on the day Jonas filmed his second guest spot, which premieres Wednesday night (January 25) at 10 p.m. ET. When we caught up with him for a few minutes between scenes, he shared some details about his return to the show. “Being back on the show, [my character Will is] engaged, and I have to be engaged to Jennifer Love Hewitt, which is really nice,” he said. “We’re both sons and daughters of characters on the show, and we show up and surprise everybody. They don’t expect us to be engaged.” Jonas said that while it was fun to work with Hewitt, their characters’ engagement doesn’t exactly last for long. “Both of our characters are really different. I think I’m a little bit blinded by the fact that she may not be the perfect person for me. I think we last probably less than Kim Kardashian in this,” he joked. Long engagements or no, Jonas said he loves his time on the show and would be happy to come back any time. “I would love to be able to return again. The first episode when I left, people were like, ‘Are you going to be back soon?’ and I said, ‘I think so.’ I don’t think my character passed away, so I think we’re good. I don’t die in this episode either,” he added. “So I’m still around, so I could definitely come back if they’d like me to.
