We've said it before and now we can say it again: Pope Francise for ALL the wins! The beloved gay rights supporter stepped out to meet fans St. Peter's Square in Rome on Wednesday, stopping at one point to say hello to a man and a young girl. The little girl was named Estella Westrick, she was three years old, she was in attendance with her godfather… and she stole The Pope's hat upon meeting him! She gave it back quickly, we should note, but not before the surrounding crowd let out a loud and awkward laugh. Would The Pope be angry? Would the man get in trouble? Would the toddler get kicked out of the area? HA! Of course not! This is Pope Francis! He took the incident in awesome stride! “Right before she went up she was a little nervous. Then she stole his hat. It was hilarious. Everyone was laughing, including the Pope,” Mountain Butorac told CNN, adding: “It's her first full day in Rome. Who knows what she will get up to tomorrow?” Hopefully something equally hilarious and viral! Watch the hilarious clip now!
The recent reports about Lamar Odom's recovery from the 12 strokes that he suffered following a drug overdose have not been very encouraging. After miraculously emerging from his coma and effectively communicating with friends and family back in October, Lamar's progress has slowed considerably in recent months. Hospital insiders say Odom is having trouble walking and is still unsure of why he's in the hospital. To make matters worse, the 36-year-old NBA star will need to leave Cedars-Sinai soon, but currently, Lamar has no place to stay . He's unable to live on his own, but Khloe Kardashian has declined to take him in for obvious reasons (They've been estranged for over a year, and she's already done a great deal to ensure that he receives the best care.), and Lamar is not close with any of his other family members. Now that we've thoroughly depressed the hell out of you, let's turn to some good news, shall we? It seems that Kim Kardashian recently visited Lamar and played him some tracks from Kanye West's new album, tentatively titled Swish . In the clip below, Kim discusses Lamar's rave response to the new Yeezy cuts. It's cool that Kanye is keeping his streak of stellar albums going, but obviously, the really great news here is that Odom is conscious enough of his surrounding that he's able to listen to music and offer an opinion. That's such an encouraging sign that it even made Kanye smile. Check it out:
Royal Baby Watch 2013 is in full effect as Kate Middleton ‘s due date is upon us, but there’s no imminently arriving regal heir(ess) just yet. On the one hand, all the pomp and circumstance surrounding one 31-year-old about to give birth seems silly. On the other hand, why not celebrate it? It’s a rare celebrity gossip story that is 100 percent positive, as well as world history in the making, as Queen Elizabeth II will have a third living heir(ess). For the first time, the rules of ascension have changed so that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s first-born will inherit the throne, regardless of gender. As for when the royal baby will arrive … it’s still anyone’s guess. As the world’s media gather on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, final preparations are underway on the scene – along with serious fun. And safety measures, of course. Friday morning, a “Specialist Search Team” inspected trash cans, plant pots and lampposts around the hospital in a royally thorough security sweep. “We are checking the surrounding area,” one search officer said. “It’s standard procedure when there is royalty due, and with what’s happening here.” “We have to take extra precaution.” In recent days, a hospital security guard has already taken up permanent residence on the steps of the main entrance to the hospital’s Lindo Wing. There, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to pose with their newborn baby soon after the birth, with other guards patrolling the area. Publicity stunts help add to the festive atmosphere, such as the arrival of three men dressed as giant babies wearing onesies and prosthetic masks. On the royal baby betting market , Alexandra and George are the current favorite names, while Diana is now at 10-1. Gender bets are fairly close. “It’s crazy,” says one staffer who witnessed media arrive two weeks ago. “But it’s fun coming to work and having a look and seeing everyone pose for pictures – they are a very popular couple, so it’s exciting for everyone!” What do you think William and Kate are having? There’s something immobile at the center of The Lady , a kind of Botoxed biopic with an unlikely director — Luc Besson — manning the syringe. Technically, that something is the figure of Aung San Suu Kyi: Here the Burmese activist is played by Michelle Yeoh, who gets the already wearisome Shepard Fairey treatment on the film’s poster, and seems to have attended the special edition stamp school of acting in preparation for the role. Almost to a scene, Yeoh is so still and serene she’s practically submerged, her dialogue seeming to rise like beatific air bubbles that burst into tiny, untroubled smiles at the surface. Rather than ripple out — and risk the suggestion of any small mercy of movement whatever — Yeoh’s performance forms a kind of undertow that pulls the surrounding story and characters into the hagiographic shallows, where they float like sea monkeys with better set dressing, blooping away about Burmese democracy.
