Taylor Swift says she is single, happy and relaxed these days. But that wasn’t always the case, according to the new issue of Life & Style. An unnamed insider claims the singer had her eye on Zayn Malik awhile back and made her dating desires very well known. But “when Zayn found out she was interested, he turned her down,” the tabloid alleges. So, how did Swift respond? She “swooped in on” Harry Styles and settled for her second favorite One Direction singer instead. But that relationship quickly fizzled out and Taylor hasn’t dated anyone famous since. This all went down more than a year ago, of course, so it’s unclear why we’re first hearing about it now. Probably because it’s totally false and made up. Taylor, meanwhile, found herself at the center of a different kind of dating rumor last month. Based on comments made by the artist, some believe that she was calling out the fact that Justin Bieber cheated on Selena Gomez .
Maria Kang, a very fit mom of three, is accused of “fit-shaming” women in a Facebook photo she shared, and now refuses to apologize for. The 32-year-old fitness enthusiast and former beauty queen shared this image of herself in a workout bra and short shorts, flaunting her toned body: Alongside her? Kang’s three sons , ages 3 years, 2 years, and 8 months, with the caption: “What’s Your Excuse?” Just motivating others, right? Depends who you ask. The picture sparked a comment war, with many of 12,000 (!) responses accusing her of fat-shaming, a charge Kang denies. After she responded with what she calls a “non-apology,” the debate escalated. How did she address some of the criticism she received? Read on … “I’m sorry you took an image and resonated with it in such a negative way,” she wrote. “I won’t go into details that I struggled with my genetics, had an eating disorder, work full time owning two businesses, have no nanny, am not naturally skinny and do not work as a personal trainer.” “What I WILL say is this. What you interpret is not MY fault. It’s yours. The first step in owning your life, your body and your destiny is to OWN the thoughts that come out of your own head.” “I didn’t create them. You created them. So if you want to continue ‘hating’ this image, get used to hating many other things for the rest of your life.” Fit Mom: Maria Kang Interview Kang’s point is that mom who don’t work out are lazy and fat, but that you can and should make fitness a part of your life even when you’re a busy mom. If you saw that photo of her and felt bad about yourself, too bad. One can understand, up to a point, why someone who doesn’t look like Maria would react in an intense, even negative way to the image she posted. Perspectives are skewed by own unique challenges, and enhanced by our own insecurities. Maybe some felt she was bragging or showing off, too. It doesn’t mean she was “shaming” anyone else here, however. Nor was she going on other people’s Facebook pages and writing hateful comments. Perhaps Kang’s approach was the issue, not her intent. What if she wrote “What’s your motivation?” Instead of “What’s your excuse?” Or been more sympathetic and less defensive in her reply? Would it be different? But if you think that news is bombshell worthy, consider a report in the latest issue of Star : The actor is allegedly making like Lamar Odom , according to the tabloid, having gone on a “cocaine bender” around Hollywood last month. EEEK! We sure hope R. Patt is okay! The Twilight Saga stud was “snorting bump after bump of cocaine” in the VIP area of the Viper Room club on September 7 and that was merely the supposed start of this star’s drug-fueled run. “Rob was doing coke all night,” a witness tells Star . “Rob tried to be subtle by scooping the coke out of a baggie with a key, but he was still in plain view of others in the room – and he looked like he knew exactly what to do.” The evening progressed at the Chateau Marmont, where Rob went “into the bathroom alone multiple times with the bag of cocaine” the magazine states. The gathering then moved to Pattinson’s home, as the actor “suggested that the guy with the coke break out the drug again. He was craving more and wanted the party to continue.” Seriously, dude. Slow down with that stuff. It’s very dangerous. We’re not really sure if this qualifies, considering R. Patt is fully dressed, but he is smiling at some shapely figure by his side. Or at least her bare foot. On her wrist? We think? Of some kind of small dot or design? It’s not exactly clear, but it is published below for your viewing pleasure: The 23-year old certainly appears to be happy with the tattoo… in one of the pictures at least. Stewart supposedly split with Robert Pattinson in May, though witnesses may have seen the two holding hands last week. In short, their status is as fuzzy as Kristen’s new body mark.

Nine years after Napoleon Dynamite made Sundance darlings out of its makers, screenwriter Jerusha Hess is set to make her directorial debut with the femme-centric comedy Austenland , adapted from Shannon Hale’s best-seller about a Jane Austen obsessee on holiday at a resort where the Regency authoress is venerated like a goddess. Austenland stars Keri Russell, JJ Feild, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour, and Bret McKenzie, but there’s even more star power behind the scenes in the form of producer Stephenie Meyer ( The Twilight Saga ). Meyer, who served as producer on the final films in the Twilight franchise, Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2 , as well as the adaptation of her novel The Host , co-created her Fickle Fish Films shingle to create literary-themed projects, beginning with Austenland . Ahead of Austenland ‘s Sundance premiere this Friday, Hess released a director’s note emphasizing her focus on a female audience after scripting the goofy male comedies Napoleon Dynamite , Nacho Libre , and Gentlemen Broncos — “[our] most testicular film to date”: I remember thinking after my husband and I finished Gentlemen Broncos , our weirdest and most testicular film to date, that I really needed to start making movies for girls. Cut to a dinner meeting with author Shannon Hale. She was smart and funny and handed me a book she had recently published, Austenland . I read it in an evening and we started writing the screenplay within the month. The book was so fresh and read like a film; it was a joy to adapt it for the screen and write it with Shannon. Since the romantic element in the book was always strong, my goal was to make the film as quirky and light as possible. The result is a ridiculous romp in Regency culture – commenting not only on the historical time but also on the Jane Austen film genre itself. Although the film gently pokes at the Austen “afficianado” it never intends to alienate the fans, rather to celebrate the fun and funny of it all. Austenland was as girlishly indulgent to make as I hope it is for you to watch. Enjoy. Synopsis: Austenland is a romantic comedy about 30-something, single Jane Hayes (Keri Russell), a seemingly normal young woman with a secret: her obsession with all things Jane Austen. But when she decides to spend her life savings on a trip to an English resort catering to Austen – crazed women, Jane’s fantasties of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become more real than she ever could have imagined.
