Some may say that Modern Family is the funniest show on television. But there will be nothing funny about one of the upcoming storylines on Season 10 of the beloved ABC program. According to co-creator Christopher Lloyd, the first half of the upcoming season will feature a significant character death. That’s certainly something new for the series. “We’re handling some bigger life events in this season,” Lloyd told Entertainment Weekly today, adding as a tease: “We do deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject. But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it.” As you might expect, Lloyd isn’t about to divulge the identity of the corpse. But he does say that it will “significant character on the series” and the death “will be a moving event – and an event that has repercussions across several episodes.” Modern Family stars Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Ariel Winter, Sarah Hyland, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould and Aubrey Anderson-Emmon. It has maintained the same cast throughout its duration on the air. It also set a record by winning five straight Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy Awards. The sitcom is heading into its final contractual season, meaning this very well could be the show’s final season. Lloyd, however, hopes this won’t be the case. “There’s goodwill on both sides to make it happen, but there’s also complicated matters that have to get worked through, and there’s a time constraint on it, because we can’t have it take too long,” he says. “I’m hoping that that doesn’t make the whole thing go away, but I think there’s a decent chance we’ll see it happen.” Lloyd continued as follows: “From our standpoint creatively we’ve gotten excited writing this season and changing the lives of the characters – some in a significant way – and it’s made us think, ‘Wow, there’s a lot to explore in the lives of these characters.’ “They’re in many ways such different characters than they were five or 10 years ago when we started and they’re just as interesting and just as funny. So our standpoint was, ‘Well, if we can do another season, we may as well.’ “I’m hoping that we have some news on that [soon], and if it winds up that we tried and just couldn’t make it work, we will have a great final season for sure.” Modern Family Season 10 premieres on Wednesday, September 26 at 9/8c. Our best guess is that Phil’s father, played by the amazing Fred Willard, is the one who kicks the proverbial bucket. As for what else fans can expect from upcoming episodes? He told EW the following: “There is a significant change in the dynamics of the family that people maybe thought was going to happen at some point down the line that is happening sooner than expected.”

Now in its third year, the back-to-school initiative will provide supplies for each students’ success, also offering free hair styling for young girls, cuts for young boys, and school uniforms all around. The two-day event is slated to take place this upcoming weekend, on August 4th and 5th, in the rapper’s city of Atlanta. This year’s event is in collaboration with the launch of 21 Savage’s Bank Account Campaign (also referred to as the Lead by Example Foundation) which aims to teach children the importance of financial literacy. “Giving back to where I grew up means a lot to me,” 21 told Billboard when speaking about the special event. “These kids need it and I use to be one of those kids. Being able to see someone from where u from make it and come back and genuine give back will motivate these kids to do the same for their kids and the community.” This event most definitely isn’t the only time you can find the rapper giving back to his community. Just last week, Mr. Savage donated $10,000 to a Georgia elementary school as a part of his Zone 6 Day initiative, to help fund their anti-bullying campaign.
“The Walking Dead” has disappointed a lot of fans in recent seasons, with shocking off-comic character deaths and grand storyline departures . Now, with two of its major main cast members — including the show’s main character, Rick Grimes — leaving the show for good in the upcoming season, we’re pretty curious where things will go. Will you be watching?? AMC/YouTube
Are you ready to say goodbye, The Walking Dead fans? AMC has released the first trailer for Season 9 of this mega-hit, which is notable for a couple reasons: ONE: New Walking Dead footage! Yes! Awesome! Hooray! TWO: Andrew Lincoln will be leaving the series as Rick Grimes at the end of the upcoming new season. He confirmed this very strong rumor at the show's Comic-Con panel on Friday, July 20. “This will be my last season, playing the part of Rick Grimes,” the actor announced in front of thousands of fans, adding: “I love this show. It means everything to me. I love the people who make this show. I promise not to cry – I’ve done enough crying on screen.” He then cried, just a little bit, concluding: “I’m particularly fond of the people who watch this show, you people. “This has been the most extraordinary, beautiful experience of my experience… So I just want to thank you. As for the trailer itself? We hear Rick's arch enemy, Negan, early on, as he growls: “You think you’ve got all this on lock…” Naturally, of course, it is anything but. At one point in the footage, we see Michonne warn Maggie that they need to come up with some rules of conduct for the newly blended communities. Elsewhere, Daryl appears to have been appointed disciplinarian. There's also our first glimpse here at Maggie and Glenn’s baby, which is both precious and bittersweet, considering the fate of Glenn at Negan's hands. Or his bat, we guess, to be more specific. “We’ll see our group together working in unity in a lot of ways, but you’ll also see some changes in the way that they deal with each other,” show runner Angela Kang has teased of Season 9. “In some ways, you’ll see that the vision has succeeded beyond anybody’s wildest imagination. But you’ll also see the cracks in that.” Interesting. The Walking Dead returns with new episodes on Sunday, October 7. Remember to follow this link and watch The Walking Dead online if you need to catch up!
