Singer totes rifle, dances with monks and dresses up as marching band conductor during high-energy Tel Aviv concert on Thursday. By Gil Kaufman Madonna in her MDNA tour in Tel Aviv, Israel Photo: Getty Images Leave it to the queen of contradiction, Madonna , to kick off her world tour in support of MDNA in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Thursday night by making a plea for peace in the Middle East during a show in which she brandished a machine gun and a revolver. Performing in front of 32,000 fans at a sold-out Ramat Gan Stadium, Madonna dubbed the show a “Concert for Peace” and handed out hundreds of tickets to Israeli peace activists, according to Israeli newspaper Ha’Aretz . The night was full of the usual mix of controversial images, bare-chested, buff male dancers and multiple high-fashion costume changes from the 53-year-old pop icon. Madonna opened the concert amid images of both crosses and satanic symbols as she took the stage to perform “Girl Gone Wild,” by breaking through the glass window of a confessional using a rifle, according to an Associated Press report. Wearing a black, skintight outfit, she performed the song accompanied by a troupe of dancers dressed as monks. She followed with “Gang Bang,” during which the huge onstage screens filled with blood stains and she brandished the firearms while wrestling with armed intruders. Another song, “Revolver,” had Madonna swinging around a Kalashnikov rifle as her dancers spun around holding Uzi machine guns. Making good on her rehearsed shout-out/dis of Lady Gaga , “Express Yourself” bled into a bit of Mother Monster’s “Born This Way,” ending with the repeated refrain, “she’s not me.” For that song and the first MDNA single, “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” she was dressed as a marching band conductor and was surrounded by similarly dressed cheerleaders and drum majors. The show also featured several appearance by Madonna’s 11-year-old son, Rocco, who wore a monk’s robe and shiny blue t-shirt and orange headphones as he danced along to mum’s tunes. Madonna is not Jewish, but is a devotee of the Jewish mystical practice of Kabbalah, and the AP reported that at one point in the show she wrapped herself in an Israeli flag and called Israel the “energy center of the world.” According to Ha’Aretz , she also took an opportunity to address the audience about the prospects of long-elusive peace in the Middle East. “You can’t be a fan of mine and not want peace in the world,” she said during the two-hour show at the start of her most extensive world tour ever. “We all bleed the same color. If we can all rise above our egos and our titles and the names of our countries and our religions, and treat everyone around us with dignity and respect, then we are on the road to peace. If there is peace here in the Middle East, there can be peace in the whole world.” Related Artists Madonna

“As I went around the room, looking for a thumbs up, I saw their faces reluctant to give it to me. So I pulled out the trump card. Michelle Williams. Now my girls are lucky enough to know Michelle Williams and they know her daughter too. She is as sweet to my daughters as she is to her own. When a hair colorist had made a mistake on one of the girls, Michelle did an operation worthy of Bond, James Bond, and got it all sorted and fixed. In my house, that made her a folk hero. And that proved to be the closer.” [ Huffington Post ]
The UK’ s Technology Studio kicked around some ideas to terrorize everyday citizens, and they came up with a doozy: making JRR Tolkien’s menacing Eye of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings a reality . Using Xbox Kinect technology, Cartesian coordinates and other voodoo, the company has created a glowing eye that follows you around the room and gently traumatizes you as you head to the copier. Watch and cry.
Bodyguard Alberto Alvarez is making a shocking accusation against Dr. Conrad Murray, saying the doc halted CPR on Michael Jackson to hide vials of Propofol. Alvarez, who called 911, told cops months after Jackson’s death that Dr. Murray hid bottles of Propofol in a closet so that family and police wouldn’t find them. He told police he saw Dr. Murray running around the room hiding Propofol bottles in a closet near the room where the doctor administered the drug to Jackson. This adds fuel to a prosecution theory that he covered up evidence . According to Alvarez, Dr. Murray stopped doing CPR and handed Alvarez drug vials, instructing him to put them in a bag. Alvarez says he saw an IV in Jackson’s leg. He notes that Dr. Conrad Murray took Propofol vials and told Alvarez to put them in a plastic bag, then told Alvarez to put the plastic bag inside a canvas bag. Alvarez also says Murray told him to remove the IV that contained a white milky substance (Propofol) in another canvas bag. Where the bags went is unclear. Jackson’s mouth and eyes were wide open but there was no sign of life. He was taken to the UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on June 25. Alvarez also says that MJ’s kids, Prince Michael and Paris, entered the room and cried as they watched Murray administer mouth-to-mouth on the lifeless star. And there’s this: After Jackson died, Murray said he needed to go back to the mansion to get cream Jackson had “so the world wouldn’t find out about it.” Sources connected with Murray’s defense say he hid nothing. Authorities found bottles of the anesthetic in what looks like a secret compartment of the closet. Those sources say Alvarez’s statement came two months after Jackson died and directly contradicts what the bodyguard told the police the day of MJ’s death. Murray sources say Alvarez never said anything about hiding Propofol at the scene. Dr. Murray told cops two days later where Propofol bottles could be found. Law enforcement sources believe Murray connected a large bottle directly into the IV and a massive amount, which entered Jackson’s system and killed him.
